I don't eat a lot of junk food but I have been enjoying Cadbury mint chocolate bars lately ... sooooo good! What is your fav junk food? My girlfriend is coming over this evening for dinner ... she gets to decide what we will eat What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

Happy Saturday everyone. And it is a happy Saturday day here. DH was speaking to the guy who lives in the apartment above us about the internet issues we’ve been having. S is German and so had a couple of ideas - one was to go in person to the Vodaphone store just down the road and see if they could help. Good idea! The two young men there were the most helpful of anyone I have spoken to over the issue and asked the right questions. 1st - are you using the router we sent you or a personal router? Yep, that’s the problem. We had connected our personal router, which does more than the basic one they sent. We went home, connected the VP router and everything worked! We have internet and TV back! We called back and they said to call Monday and they will send a tech to allow us to use our preferred router, but at least we have entertainment for the weekend.
Apart from that, normal Saturday. Grocery shopping, including a few essentials for a young Mexican colleague if DH, who is arriving here for an extended stay tomorrow. We stocked her fridge and pantry with basics so she can eat until she can get to a supermarket.
This afternoon - walk the football (yay!) on TV while I knitted on my sweater.
Dinner is beef and mushroom ragout (fancy name for stew!), which will be served with mashed potatoes.

leannec have you watched videos hair straightening? So relaxing! sueg I’m glad you have internet again! I went to Walmart this morning. First, it’s freezing out. Second, Walmart on a Saturday morning. Last…four large vans pulled up just as I was entering the store and at least 12 people got out of each one! Trying to get into the store and get a cart was a challenge! I managed to head in the opposite direction to avoid the crowd that descended on the produce area! I got what I needed and left quickly!! Today I’m trying to get some projects finished. Ds just helped me hang five pleated shades and I hung a shelf in each bathroom. I have a few doors to put on my craft Kallax unit and I have four huge boxes in the living room containing a new Kallax for that room. The flooring guys coming on Monday will move furniture but consider anything in a box to be personal effects and won’t move them so I want to get the Kallax put together so we don’t have to move boxes! That stuff is heavy!! Dinner will be the marinated steak tips we had planned for last night. I will brave the low temps to grill them if ds doesn’t want to. We have some fresh veggies that need to be used soon and either roasted baby red potatoes or fries for a side.

Happy Saturday! It’s going to be a lazy day. My last day off work for quite a while so I’m doing what I want today. Basically nothing. Actually, I’m making some cards and doing laundry. Will watch Purdue basketball and the NFL games. Cute meme leannec. Dinner is going to be jalapeño popper chicken. Have a fabulous Saturday, everyone!

I worked my 4 hours last night and spent 4 hours cleaning up, putting away video towers and any other equipment and supplies the past two shifts left behind...The place was a mess!!! All that after an emergent case we did. I was relieved at 3 am and home I went , however short lived as I was called back for a "Trauma STAT". We were set up and ready, however I believe the patient was transferred to Boston with a signigficant skull fracture.... I was able to get home and in bed by 7am and had a nap.
Not sure what my afternoon holds....i think some cookie baking, I have some hermit dough left from Christmas baking that I will bake .... Other than that maybe some crafting...still working on the Baby Girl album...up to month 6 on that. I also need to ge some BD cards made.
Dinner will be the salmon and green veggies I never made last night, I ended up with soup and DH had rechauffe chicken pot pie and mashed potato.

It rained all night but we got in a 2.5 mile walk with a break in the rain this morning. I was happy about that. It's supposed to rain for the 9ers/Packers game which is a shame. sueg, glad you got it sorted out! Dinner will be soup and salad as the game starts at 5PM PST. You have to be a certain age to get this one!

Hi Everyone, leannec Funny meme. Enjoy your time with your friend. sueg I am so glad that you got it figured out and you have internet back. KelleeM I get the crazy Walmart errand. You have really gotten a lot accomplished today. Your dinner sounds great. stormsts Enjoy your day off and making cards. karenlou It’s to bad that you didn’t know about the patient being transferred before you went into work. Your dinner sounds really good. cadoodlebug The meme is funny. Soup and salad on a rainy day is a good choice. Yesterday I watched American Nightmare on Netflix. It was about the Vallejo CA kidnapping. It’s strange that I remembered the story, news clips and police press conferences. I felt so bad for the couple and all of his other victims. YDS made Sous Vide chicken and biscuits for dinner. It was delicious. Today, I am doing laundry, picking up the house and watching YouTube videos. It is 22 degrees Fahrenheit here and sunny today. Dinner is rechauffe. I hope all of you have a peaceful rest of the day.

Dinner is either chicken parmesan or beef stroganoff. Whichever one we don't have tonight will be for tomorrow. Going to watch some sports (football, hockey) and do some scrapbooking and/or cardmaking.
I spent about an hour on the phone earlier with a friend who I haven't connected with in a couple of months. That was really nice, as we've both been very busy (work, travel) and haven't had time to get together or do anything other than text.

Tonight I’m making chicken sausages with peppers and onions I usually serve white rice with it and I add BBQ and DH adds sriracha but I still have a lot of rice pilaf left from the other night, so we’ll do that.
My favorite junk food…that’s a tough one. Probably Lays potato chips if I’m wanting something salty but if I want something sweet my favorite is Twizzlers.

I got home last night at 11:30 after babysitting the grandboys. That’s after my bedtime but found DH and Walker waiting up for me which was nice. DDIL appreciated the dishes that I did and the laundry that I folded.
DH and I went furniture shopping this morning. We saw a loveseat and chair that we liked. It was on sale but then the salesman told us it would take 3 months to arrive. WHAT?! We decided to check out the other furniture store but didn’t see any there there we liked. We came home discouraged and still without new furniture.
Supper tonight will be grilled steak if I can talk DH into grilling in the snow.

Junk food is mood dependent for me. Lately it’s been black pepper popcorn or dove dark chocolate squares. I love chips too. Came to Cincinnati with dd1. She has a baby shower and I wanted to go to an enamel supplier. Everyone from studio day got their lusts for me. Checked yesterday and they’re closed til next Wednesday. Bummer. I didn’t want to back out because dd was glad to have someone to drive with. So I went to the gap clearance center in Kentucky. My other DD’s gave me lists of Athleta things. Gap owns them. I was able to get a few things. Now I’m just waiting for the shower to end and dd to come out. Dinner is most likely rechauffe. sueg doesn’t it just figure something not that hard to get your internet back on. My iPad can no longer get the latest OS and hasn’t been able to for quite some time. Now apps are starting to not work. I really don’t want to buy a new one. destined2bmom that sous vide is turning out beneficial for you too.

well mil was not doing too well yesterday, so dh went ahead and booked a flight for today. course today, she is better and complaining loudly.. it was an ice rink going out to the car this morning but the roads were fine to go to airport. I stopped at like 3 stores on the way home, including a local consignment store and I found an austrian boiled wool jacket.. in deep red.. so I got it.
it is now snowing and I plan to do nothing but take dog for a walk, watch football, and eat leftover chicken taco. back on dog duty. I might look for some new sorel winter boots.

ntsf, your mil is feisty. It's a good thing that your husband flew out to see her, but I'm sorry about the circumstances. Sounds like a very indoor day. stormsts, I truly hope that you can find ways to take some time for yourself over the next quarter. My very favorite junk food in the universe is the beloved Ho-Ho. I haven't had one in probably 15 years, but if I'm ever able to eat normally, I will have to eat a Ho-Ho and a salad w/lots of tomatoes, though not at the same time. Ok. That is a random combo. I've been laying pretty low today. There is football tonight and I will make Chicken Florentine for dh. He's also going to have a salad. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Hi just checking in. I spent 4 hours this afternoon lunching with my friend Earl (he will always be Chip to me). We grew up together on the same street back in the days when you primarily played with the neighborhood kids. So he was my best playmate all those years ago. He moved to my area right before COVID and other than during the pandemic, we get together every few months and spend hours having lunch and talking like two hags at a knitting circle. His words. Anyway, he's super smart and likes to talk about interesting things so I always enjoy seeing him. Then I hit the farmers market. Busy. It was awful. This is why I go at 7 am usually. I came home unpacked the groceries and put together dinner. It needs to cook for two hours so I wanted to get it in. The recipe is new from the Cool Beans cookbook. It is called ratatouille cassoulet. Beans tomatoes, peppers squash, zucchini and eggplant. Should be delicious. Now I'm going to go back and read all the posts. I had a busy week and missed you guys a bunch. I did however read yesterday's thread in the wee hours of the morning. And I was lol when Leanne said she didn't like Indian food but did like Indian men. And then lucyg with her I like cops. 😂 In case you didn't know, I have a type too. I like clowns. A guy has to make me laugh. Like all the time. Quick wit. Playful banter. And a total appreciation for my slapstick comedy. Basically he's got to be completely ridiculous. And I'm lucky because Jeremy fits the bill.

What a bummer your store was closed teddyw! We went to an indoor food court today. Its pretty upscale, urban kind of place with a full bar and everything. And the vegan restaurant I wanted to try was closed until Wednesday. I was bummed.

I made 18 bean soup with our ham bone several weeks ago and froze a bunch. I love when I can pull a frozen soup out of the freezer and just make a big salad and call it dinner!

Chill day here after a busy week. Got a walk in with my ice grippers on. We live at the bottom of a steep hill, going up our dirt road was good, lots of traction but coming down the paved road on the return was less enjoyable. I spent most of my time on the shoulder as the road itself was quite icy and then deked down a side road to get back on our dirt road.
One of DSO’s childhood friends is in town for a hockey tournament so is coming out for a visit tonight. I made my mom’s fall off the bone chicken wings and other nibblies. Made extra wings as SO loves them and he’ll enjoy them tomorrow as well.
I enjoy reading what everyone else had their agenda on the weekends! Gives me ideas lol.

DH and I rearranged the livingroom furniture and you know what? It works! We initially thought our huge couch was going to be too big to turn and face the tv, so we were searching for a loveseat. However, after removing a few things and putting his recliner in the corner (now my reading chair), it looks pretty good. We would have a bit more space with a loveseat but we’ve decided to leave it like this for awhile and see if it works for us. We will continue to search out the sales and perhaps buy something new in the future. I thanked DH for being so patient with me today and helping satisfy my need to change everything around.

cadoodlebug I never got to see Grace Slick perform with them, but Jefferson Starship's female vocalist is very good. They were my first concert when I was 16. 😁 I went to Aldi this morning for groceries, and then DH and I went to his school's hockey game (he works in higher ed). They played Duquesne University, and the girl announcing the players and scoring called them Due-kens until someone corrected her. I would imagine the Duquesne fans around us were not amused. (It's pronounced due-cane.) DH's interview hit a slight tech blip on the side of the interviewers, but it all worked out and it sounds like it went well. We should know next week if we need to prepare for a small road trip for him to interview on campus for round 2. 🤞🏻 Dinner tonight was tortellini and garlic bread.

leannec that meme made me laugh big! I might have to steal it to post on my FB. Dinner is going to be jalapeño popper chicken. I was going to make that too! But then before I could even mention it, DSO told me that he had a craving for spag bol, because we haven't had it for ages. That's nice and easy, so I will make that tonight and the jalapeño popper chicken during the week.

destined2bmom haven't your boys gone back to school yet? I mean I would be glad to have him home and cooking dinner. But, well...how's school going for him? Yes the oldest went back Monday. The youngest was supposed to go back Tuesday morning; but a snowstorm hit and he couldn’t drive back. And the university closed for the day. He came back and forth until Thursday afternoon and we had another snowstorm on Friday and everything was closed again. He will go back to school either tomorrow or Monday morning.
