I realized I have lived a charmed life. I have always lived with an airport within 30 minutes of my home.
In my youth, Houston's Hobby airport was about 20 minutes away.
Currently I can get to Dallas' Love Field within 20 minutes and DFW within 30 minutes.

I am 15 minutes from our small airport. I love it. I can get to the airport, park, get my luggage checked in if needed, and be through security in 30 minutes. We don't have a lot of gates, so not a lot of choices though. If I have to drive to Denver, the same things take me 2.5-3 hours.

Within 1 hr- 4 airports including large international airport, closest is about 20 min away
With in 1.5h- 1 more airport
When we visit family in the Midwest it is about a 2 drive from the airport. We realized we are very lucky to live near (but not too near) many airport options. But that also means we live in a very densely populated area (So Cal).

Yes! Dayton International Airport is 15 min from me. They fly low often times as they are getting ready to land. I use the Flightradar 24 app to see which airline it is and where they're coming from or where they're going. I love it!

I'm very close.. I could get there within 15 minutes not counting parking. That is taking the toll road too. I usually don't take it and it probably adds 10 minutes to the drive. I only take the toll if time is a factor.

We’re about 20 minutes from Hobby and 35 from IAH. I would not live anywhere more than an hour from a major airport.

San Jose airport is a 20 minute drive. Oakland is 40 minutes and SFO is 50 minutes, all with no traffic.

Yes-- my city has a decently sized airport with multiple large carriers.

With no traffic, 45 minutes.
We have a local commuter airport that United and American used to fly out of and go to LAX. Loved that airport because it was so convenient and we could catch so many flights out of LAX. It was only 10 minutes away, parking was easy, no lines to check in, etc. United was the last man standing, and they left because their new commuter jets needed a longer runway. 😢 They used to fly prop jobs out of the airport.

I live between 2 airports. The smaller one is an hour north and the larger one is an hour south.

15 minutes away for a pretty large airport and an hour away for a smaller one. We used to fly out of the smaller one because it saved us a lot of $$$. But, the past 5 times we've flown, we've flown out of the bigger one because it was actually less expensive. I like that it is so close to home! We live under a few of the flight paths so see planes often, however they are high enough up by the time they pass us that they aren't so loud!

I live 30 minutes or less from JFK and LaGuardia. Then about hour to 3 other airports.

So close we can sometimes hear a low rumble of planes and see them coming in to land from our backyard.

Not really... i live about 45 mins from a small town airport.. it has 1 gate with flights to and from dfw... theres like 6 flights throughout the day.. 1st flight out is 6 the last flight in at night is 10...
Its nice to be able to connect... but sometimes its cheaper (by several 100 dollars) to drive to Austin or San Antonio and fly out of those airports

Depending on traffic, we can get to Charlotte Douglas in an hour and 15 minutes. I’m almost two and a half hours from there. GSP is closest at one hour. But we’ve flown out of both depending on the trip. We’ve even driven the three hours to Hartsfield in Atlanta on occasion.

An aside to the conversation, Spongemom Scrappants , but have you ever flown out of Asheville? We're same as you, GSP an hour, CLT 2-2.5. But in running prices lately, the Asheville ones have been comparable, and options have been more varied than I would have imagined. Traffic to Asheville is so much better than Charlotte.

I live about 45 minutes from Calgary International (YYC) ... I'm on the other side of the city but there is a freeway straight there ...
I definitely never see or hear planes!

I live with 5 airports (in 2 countries) within 1 1/2 hour drive. 2 are in the Buffalo/Niagara Falls NY and the other 3 are in Canada.
I'm able to compare a lot of prices.

at home, 14 min door to door to SFO.. people call me when the plane touches down, then I am there about the time they hit the curb.
in my winter home.. the airport is 10 miles away--15-20 min depending on weather and traffic. it is such a small airport, you have to walk out and climb the stairs to the plane.

In 75 minutes I can drive 75 km and be sitting at the 1 of 2 gates at the airport. It's a regional airport, an hour flight to Calgary for connections.

My answer is the same as peabay's to fly from home, but to fly to visit my family is tough. There's an airport in my town, but flights are significantly more expensive than if I fly into NW Arkansas or Tulsa and drive an hour and a half.

I’m about 25 miles from the Portland (OR) airport and I usually need to allot an hour travel time to get there. I would not want to live any further than this from an international airport.

This is on my deal breaker list. I'm within an hour of a major hub and would not consider moving anywhere that would be more than hour away from a major hub. We travel a lot and I hate the added stress of connections, so even a midsized airport isn't going to work for me.

Melbourne airport is just under an hour's drive from my house. It usually takes about 54 minutes. I always allow one and a half hours, because traffic can be awful.

Technically we’re less an hour to O’Hare but it all depends on traffic, time of day, weather, expressway shut downs which are occurring more often, etc.
The Blue Line is fast but we’re not close to a stop and juggling luggage to switch lines only works with minimal luggage.
