Tomorrow we are headed to Santa Cruz (Watsonville specifically) for a gymnastics meet. I get to drive. Hopefully the rain won’t be too bad. We are staying over until Sunday. I’ve see that we will be enjoying lots of rain on Sunday. Yuck!
Anyone live in the Santa Cruz/Watsonville area? How bad is it supposed to be?[/quote]
I live in the Bay Area and the news this morning said they want everyone to stay off the roads as much as possible as they are expecting the storm to hit hard, especially the Santa Cruz area.
Stay safe!

So far it’s not bad and the beach has been gorgeous. Overcast, very little rain. We enjoyed a few hours on the sand today before the rain came in. The drive home tomorrow should be a bit of a challenge I think. We aren’t going home thru the Bay Area since we are south of Santa Cruz so I can avoid highway 17 in the rain.

Anyone know how Ventura County faired. Specifically Thousand Oaks. Dh and I are both out of town in different places, with little internet service.
Thanks.

Lots of steady rain in SF but not bad. Bridges are still very windy though. Last night driving across the bay bridge, signs warning of extreme weather and to avoid travel Sunday and Monday.

It is windy and raining hard here in Sonoma county. I lost power for about two hours , got it back for a little over an hour and it’s out again.

Still beautiful and sunny here in the San Diego area. We are supposed to get hit later tonight. But you can see the clouds starting to come in from the north and west. I hope it is not as bad as forecasted. Stay safe everyone!

I feel guilty but it has been gorgeous here today. The clouds have been rolling in and it’s supposed to start around 6 pm. The forecast keeps changing but if we get what they predict we should get around 3.5 inches that number hasn’t changed just the when.
I really hope there isn’t much damage with this storm. I hope everyone stays safe and that the power issues don’t get worse.

Sonoma county again.
I have to say this is the windiest I have seen in a long time. You can hear stuff moving around outside.
Trees have come down including one that fell across Hwy 101 and hit a car.

Made it home. Roads weren’t too bad. It was sprinkling at the coast but REALLY windy. It’s gray to the east but blue/cloudy overhead. Windy but not overly so. Nothing new has shown up in my yard yet 😂 I’m hopeful we will get some fun weather related stuff from this. I hate boring wind and rain.

It was a bit sunny earlier but then we had a flash hail storm. Now it’s windy and rainy and there are power outages across the Bay Area.

It’s raining pretty heavy here in Santa Barbara and has been all day. I think the worst is coming over the next few hours and then it will lighten up. I’m safe and cozy at home but am thinking about everyone in debris flow or burn scar areas. (Oh—and school is cancelled tomorrow).

North Hollywood: steady but not scary in my area. I imagine if I go out, the underpasses and usual flooding areas will have standing water.

We've had lots of rain (east between Sacramento and South Lake Tahoe) but the wind is relentless. Gusts up to 60 MPH. Our patio has very heavy furniture and the chairs are littering the backyard. We went for a walk when the sun came out briefly and almost got knocked down by the wind. DH picked up several of those heavy rolling garbage bins that had blown over. We're hoping ours lasts the night.

Rains are pretty steady now. Winds not so bad. DH's wants me to take his SUV to work tomorrow. The freeways will probably be flooded in some parts and I'll get around better. I think I'll work a half day tomorrow.
I hope everyone is doing ok. I just heard an alert go off on my phone.

We were on one of the few Southwest flights into Sacramento that didn’t get cancelled today. We are on our way home to San Joaquin County now and it’s pretty darn ugly on I-5.

I was looking at the temperature for tomorrow. We have a low of 54 and a high of 58! That seems so unusual to me.

Its 2:09 AM in Sacramento and still crazy windy. It’s been crazy windy all day long. It’s garage night but I don’t think anyone has their bins out or they’d just topple over. some of our fence is down, and this poor plant fell to the ground in the backyard.
And the dog keeps wanting out. There’s only two ways he goes to the bathroom.
I’m house sitting so this is not really my dog, and it’s not my plant or my fence. But there are living here with me. Well not so much the fence anymore.
Hope everyone is doing ok.

It started raining late last night. Weather app says we’ve gotten 0.5” in the last 6 hours, with 2.25” to come today. That is a lot of rain in one day for us. So, we’ll see. Raining now and supposed to rain continuously all day long.

The winds in south San Jose were unreal. I've lived here my whole life and never seen anything like it. Unfortunately, I think stronger winds and 5F hotter summers are the new normal now.
We have a very large ash tree in our backyard. Nine months ago during a very windy storm like this, about 20% of the tree broke off into the neighbor's yard, no damage to their house, just the fence. We had an arborist look at the tree and said it is very sturdy, we just need to shorten all the branches so it is smaller overall. We paid another small fortune to have that done just two weeks ago and still three 4-8 foot branches broke off in the wind. Also our neighbor's avocado tree lost a huge chunk into our yard. The wind gusts were so high we could see the windows bow at a few points and it felt like the roof was going to lift off. Very scary.

In a 24 hour period my city has received 4.26" of rain with another .5" coming just today before night time. Crazy.

I cannot believe it's STILL raining! It started raining at 3:45pm on Sunday and has not stopped since. Down pours, regular rain, light rain but still IT HAS NOT STOPPED! My backyard grass has standing water. Nothing will soak in any more.

I thought we were done about 30 minutes ago, the sun was shining! But, nope, started raining again. We’ve pretty much have had constant rain since early Monday morning, like from 2AM. We are close to 3” of rain since this started, with another 1” forecasted. We have dried river beds that haven’t flowed in years and are now overfilled.

Anyone know how Ventura County faired. Specifically Thousand Oaks. Dh and I are both out of town in different places, with little internet service. Thanks. It hasn't been too bad here. It's rained a lot and for longer periods of time that I ever recall recently but we do dry out inbetween. Right now, Tuesday afternoon it hasn't rained since earlier this morning and then it was light rain. It's been chilly though, wow! I've enjoyed it being cozy and WFH but I'm staying off the roads as possible and I told my team to do the same. No need to haul into the office if we don't have to. I've watched the local news and we've had incidents here and there but I don't think anything major has happened like last year, thankfully. When do you expect to be back home? I hope you are having a nice trip
