It has been raining steadily here since early this morning. I am working from home today since I do not want to be in the traffic and on the slippery roads. San Diego is still recovering from the last storm. I feel sorry for all those people in San Diego that lost their homes due to flooding. One freeway in my area was closed the last time due to flooding, and it looks like it may be closed again today. And then another storm is coming in over the weekend. When it rains, it pours!
Hope everyone is safe and dry!

It's been raining hard and steady since about midnight. I love it but my dog hates it. We need the rain and I don't live in a flood or mudslide area so I'm not complaining.

The sun is actually out a bit right now. The other night though I was driving across the Bay Bridge and it was so unbelievably windy. Our lights have been flickering too but today is ok.

Our 10 day forecast only has 1 sunny day 😳 But today is supposed to be the most rainy. Nothing crazy here in South OC.

We're okay because we are high up on a hill so everything runs down from us. But man, that was a LOT of rain and wind last night! The back of our house gets the brunt of the storm and of course, that's where our bedroom is.
Hopefully everyone is safe.

I’m in the inland empire and we are already at over an inch. Nothing too crazy here. I really hope there isn’t more flooding in San Diego. Watching video of guys using kayaks and seeing how high the water was in some areas is really sad. So many cars were parked where it flooded to. I know there are some areas that always flood but not sure where the pictures and videos came from and if they were known areas. I didn’t see a lot of sand bags. Today is supposed to be the worst but last I looked next Monday and Tuesday are supposed to be almost as bad. I know we need it but I feel so bad for those with damage.

Seems like Long Beach and OC are being hit pretty hard. IE here close to SB Mountains and it has finally stopped. Started at about 5am and has been quite steady. Got the dogs out to walk.
Hopefully it's calm to get ds from school in a bit.
Minor flooding that always halogens with rain here due ti how streets are designed and local citrus groves.
River is flowing rather good but isn't high.

Started around 9pm last night and was pretty steady until midnight. On and off since then. We've had almost an inch at my house. Slightly less where I work. Currently raining for the next few hours. Next storm arrives Sunday and is supposed to be more powerful

I’ve been in Palm Springs for the last couple of weeks and was kind of like “eh” over the lead up to the storm. There’s not much rain out here but man, your streets are not designed for it, there is so much standing water on the roads. Plus I plowed through one of these drainage dips not realizing the road dipped under the water. My rental was not happy.
I heard on the midday news that Fulllerton got 5 inches today. Is anyone out there, and is it true?

I live in western Calaveras county- super windy last night but not much rain.
I work in eastern San Joaquin county- no rain today and blue skies.
Drove home and picked DD up from her bus stop and she was soaked to the bone. Apparently it poured at school.
Just got to Oakdale for gymnastics and there’s thunder but just really light sprinkles at the moment. The country roads weren’t too flooded on the way here.
Tomorrow we are headed to Santa Cruz (Watsonville specifically) for a gymnastics meet. I get to drive. Hopefully the rain won’t be too bad. We are staying over until Sunday. I’ve see that we will be enjoying lots of rain on Sunday. Yuck!
Anyone live in the Santa Cruz/Watsonville area? How bad is it supposed to be?

I heard on the midday news that Fulllerton got 5 inches today. Is anyone out there, and is it true? I checked the weather app and Fullerton got 1.6" in the last 24 hours. Locally, we just have slight rain right now. Today wasn't too bad in our area. But, now we have two days to dry out until the next storm on Sunday. Weather app says we'll have rain from Sunday through Friday. Well, at least I don't have to water the lawn for awhile. I did manage to get some native flowers and other flowers planted before the storm. Hopefully this rain makes them grow fast!

I would love to have more natives in our yard but at the same time the idea of digging everything up to change out the irrigation isn’t going to happen. We have sone in small areas that have drip. I need to add a few more plants in the backyard but haven’t decided what c

It was soooo windy last night. Got a bit over an inch in Monterey but Santa Cruz got over 3”. Overall, doesn’t seem like there was too much damage and it was partly sunny today. I think the weather’s been a little tough on the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, though.

The area is not known for heavy flooding, however there was a lot of rain in a short period of time, and people are blaming the clogged flood channels/rivers in the area. The showed on the news tonight the river all cleaned out and one lady commented that she has never seen the river that cleared of debris and brush in all the years she has lived in the area. People are saying the city did not do their job to keep the rivers and flood channels cleaned up.

Insurance won’t cover damages unless they had flood insurance and if it is the city’s fault you would think there will be a lot of claims against the city. I was born and raised in San Diego and don’t remember it flooding like that. Fashion Valley used to flood every year and the beaches occasionally but this seemed so out of the blue. Not being in the area anymore so not sure exactly which areas flooded just a few clips that a friend sent me. Talking to people down there many schools closed due to flooding snd but just along the coast.

The flood control channels were close to the top but many of our streets just don't drain. Lots of residential streets were impassable. Seal Beach had 2.7 inches and Long Beach 2.5 inches of rain in a very short time. We weren't built for this!

Southeast of downtown, just north of National City, and just east of the 5 freeway. We didn't even hear anything about the usual flooding in Mission/Fashion Valley. I am sure there was but this other area got all the media coverage because of the damage. One co-worker was flooded out. And yup, no flood insurance. People are donating to help her out.

I was watching the weather on channel 5 and they are saying the next storm is going to be much worse than first expected. They are supposed to have the first NASCAR race of the season at the LA Coliseum on Sunday. I'm doubtful that's gonna happen.

I can’t even imagine racing in the Coliseum. Are they just going to make turns the whole race?! 😆

Racing is supposed to start at 3:30pm. It's such a short track that the race doesn't last that long time wise but there are a lot of cautions for wrecks. I just don't see how this is going to work since it's supposed to rain starting Sunday thru Wednesday. It's a non-points race so I wonder if it will be cancelled all together.

Thursday was supposed to be bad and then this week but as bad but that changed quickly and next week just keeps looking worse snd worse I hope there isn’t a lot of flooding anywhere. Hoping all drains and whatnot have been cleared and people have sandbags and are prepped this round.

I heard the next storm is a slow mover, which is not good.
Today we had sunshine, and then it would rain for about 30 minutes, and then sunshine and then repeat, all day long.

We didn’t get much rain here. It was sunny this morning but then was cloudy the rest of the day. I kept expecting it to rain but we didn’t get much and I think what we did get was mostly overnight.

The news just did a story on photo albums that were found during clean up from the floods. They are hoping to find the owners. Most of the photos seemed to be in fairly good shape. Families lost everything, it will be nice if they at least have these photos.
