Well, when we only get 10” a year, we truly don’t know what to do! 😂 No sun = storm of the century. 🤣

I thought we were done about 30 minutes ago, the sun was shining! But, nope, started raining again. We’ve pretty much have had constant rain since early Monday morning, like from 2AM. We are close to 3” of rain since this started, with another 1” forecasted. We have dried river beds that haven’t flowed in years and are now overfilled. that is insane, poor Sandy Eggo. I've been seeing some of it on my TikTok fyp and wow. Stay safe!

Anyone know how Ventura County faired. Specifically Thousand Oaks. Dh and I are both out of town in different places, with little internet service. Thanks. It hasn't been too bad here. It's rained a lot and for longer periods of time that I ever recall recently but we do dry out inbetween. Right now, Tuesday afternoon it hasn't rained since earlier this morning and then it was light rain. It's been chilly though, wow! I've enjoyed it being cozy and WFH but I'm staying off the roads as possible and I told my team to do the same. No need to haul into the office if we don't have to. I've watched the local news and we've had incidents here and there but I don't think anything major has happened like last year, thankfully. When do you expect to be back home? I hope you are having a nice trip Thank you for the update. I did get a hold of a neighbor to check in on my hibernating desert tortoise. I was scheduled to go see my family in Indiana 12 Feb - 26 Feb, but on 26 Jan my brother landed in ICU with a MRSA infection in his lungs that had traveled from a cut on his leg and I came out immediately, as it was a bit touch and go. He is doing better and should be out of ICU tomorrow. I want to come home, but its probably making more sense to just stay. Wish I had packed better. 😖

And now we have tornado warnings!! WTH?! A tornado was spotted in Chula Vista, southwest San Diego county. Wow. I know there were warning but didn’t know there were some actually spotted. I hope there wasn’t any damage.

We had a small leak in our ceiling form during the really big rains a couple weeks ago and now we have a minor mudslide on the hill in our backyard. Luckily we don’t have anyone below us, it’s an empty lot but it’s still scary! We have a call into a couple structural engineers to see what we can do to prevent any further sliding.
When we had the really terrible flooding in San Diego my son and I were at one of his weekly activities and I thought we were trapped - the street we normally took home was completely flooded. Cars were floating in the road and we witnessed a rescue while I got my bearings for getting home. My dad always taught me to take multiple routes to and from places so I remembered a back way and we managed to get home but for a few minutes I was really scared we’d end up trapped for hours!

My head must have been pretty wacky, because my suitcase is nuts. 😖 On the plus side my brother is out of ICU, and had incredible improvements today. Hopefully just a couple more days and we will bring him home.

Weather wise, once we get past Thursday, the weather app is showing no rain through at least next week Friday! YAY! We get to dry out! There'll be some heavy showers late tonight/early morning, then that's it! For now!

What rain totals did everyone's area get?
Here it was about 6.2" with a yearly total of over 11". We typically get about 13" in a 12 month span. Crazy!
And more is on the way starting the 17th. Ugh. Kind of over the rain.

Kind of over the rain. We got almost 4”. They said we broke a one-day rainfall total on Monday with almost 3” of rain in one day. We average about 12” a year. It poured again last around from around 11PM-1AM. Was windy too. But today is bright and sunny!! Yay! Our forecast shows sun through the 17th, so maybe our area gets rain a day or two later than yours.

Had gusts at 25 mph and steady at 15 mph.
