Good morning. After spending a lovely afternoon with **GypsyGirl**, I'm getting ready for my appt this am. Then I am going to the local mall to try and find some lightweight stuff for travel for the trips that dh and I will take. Then it's treatments . I'm doubling down on all of my treatments, because I'm seeing such good progress. The minute this site completely heals I'm signing up for aquatic therapy. I miss the pool. Dh has been doing well w/dinners. He does cook. What's on your menu? What is everyone up to today? tmarschall, I'm thinking good news thoughts for your husband. (((((HUGS)))). christine58 are you done w/your Florida trips for the winter season? leannec, how is your mom doing? ntsf, how is your hubby? Did they determine if the gall bladder is causing the problem? May today be a happy today for all!

Happy Wednesday! scrapmaven Glad you had a good time here in TX! Central Market is the bomb. I've got a fairly busy day at work training some new people and trying to finish up a few things on my plate. We just landed a big account that is all-hands and I haven't been able to work on it much since I've had my own work to do but I'm hoping that the new people can start on it after some training. Dinner tonight is leftover beef stroganoff from last night. It made enough to feed an army and I'm just here by myself so I'll have it tonight and then freeze the rest. It turned out really good but I think next time I'll halve the recipe or have someone over. Hope you

scrapmaven So glad to hear things are going well! Tearisci I love beef stroganoff. I usually make it in the Instant Pot. So easy! Dinner tonight will be at our favorite Italian place for an early dinner for DH's birthday! (And yes, lucyg, I will make sure we take a picture. Especially since he's wearing a bow tie today!)

rymeswithpurple, yes! How cute. Please post bow tie picture. And have a great dinner tonight. I’m thinking I will actually cook today. A thing with rigatoni. I pinned a recipe for rigatoni with a sauce that includes Boursin cheese spread (which I don’t think I’ve ever even tasted before). BUT I do know I have trouble digesting cream-based sauces, but not so much with cheese. So I’m going to try this dish, and we will just see what happens. I know, I know, TMI. Side note, ever since I pinned that one recipe, Pinterest has been throwing Boursin recipes at me right and left. Stay well, everyone.

Be careful with the Boursin cheese, it's tasty and I've had several pastas with it (yum) but if you have trouble with cream, this might be too creamy for you. I'm having a good day. I'll have salmon for dinner. Potatoes and broccoli too, or maybe a cabbage salad.

My mum is feeling a lot better and is anxious to be sprung from the hospital! So my day is pretty much just waiting around until I go and pick her up ... Dinner is to be determined!

lucyg If you can handle it, watch out. It's sooo tasty. One of our favorite recipes (although one we don't eat it too much anymore since DH has been trying to eat healthier) is Instant Pot Sausage and Shells (https://pressureluckcooking.com/instant-pot-sausage-shells/); though I swap the artichokes out for mushrooms. I like artichokes, but I feel like mushrooms go better with this recipe.

DS just texted that his flight from Dallas to Oakland tonight has already been delayed a hour. I suspect weather related. It's going to be nasty when he gets home. I'll continue prepping for my crop ~ same song second verse! scrapmaven , I'm so happy things are going well! tmarschall , thinking of y'all today. Dinner might be Horseradish Meatloaf.

It’s a simple surgery and I should not have waited

scrapmaven. Yes this is my last trip down for now you never know. But my mom will be home tomorrow. I may go down and help my niece when they reevaluate her son who is on the spectrum and decide about school placement for first grade.

Esther wasn't diagnosed with autism until she was a teenager and I really didn't know at all how to advocate for her.

We ended up with pizza last night. Maybe the rechauffe fajitas. If not, I will freeze what is left of that.
Good thoughts going out to all.

Thanks so much for your kind thoughts, friends last night and today . Right now I'm sitting in a park listening to the seagulls scold me unmercifully for running out of food to share. I just needed to get our of the house this morning while I wait for Nick to come home for the afternoon appointments. They are quite bossy and cranky and I love them. Remember the film where they are all saying "mine, mine, mine, mine"? Love it.
We will probably pick something up after the 5:30 appointment. If not, we have italian beef for sandwiches.

That's a late appointment tmarschall! I hate when appointments are so late. I don't know why because it's not like I'd be getting any different information any faster but waiting all day does something to my nerves.

That's a late appointment tmarschall! I hate when appointments are so late. I don't know why because it's not like I'd be getting any different information any faster but waiting all day does something to my nerves. We actually have a test at 2:30, an especially important one, so the hope is that we may have a report available for the Dr at 4:30. She's not the one who ordered it but we hope she might be able to give us some context for it and/or help us understand it. The specialists appt is a whole week and a half out. Waiting is the hardest part. Managing the uncertainty and fear. I never thought I'd be praying for pneumonia. Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts. It means a lot. We've decided not to talk with our people until we know something, so it's hard to carry it alone.

Happy Wednesday! After a beautiful Spring day and visit with scrapmaven yesterday, Winter has returned. Gloomy and cold and I just can't get warm. I'm about to head out and get some errands done. First one is to drop DD's dog off at her apartment so she will be there when DD returns from her business trip later this afternoon. The dog sitter just brought her back to me since I run the Pet Taxi/Shuttle. We have some beef to cook for dinner and I will toss some potatoes in the oven to bake. Russet for me, a Japanese sweet potato and an Okinawan sweet potato for DH.

So I have some news seeing how Dinner Table members are going to crops and things. I got some new antique looking inserts for my planner so I can start journaling again and maybe decorate my planner. I am kind of excited about this because it will be my creative outlet and brain dump where I can get all my stress out. The inserts are coming from Germany!
Dinner tonight is a mystery. I need to talk to DDIL and see.

Do you have macular degeneration? My dad does and has to get shots in both eyeballs every 8 weeks. It's definitely slowed the progression down but I would guess he's probably legally blind. I have so much admiration for having to go through that. I've been in the room with him when he gets his shots and I can't watch. You are a trooper!

DH and I took an hour long trip this morning to get his oil changed. When he bought his new truck, he got 6 free oil changes. So even with the hour drive, it was worth it for the oil change. We also made a stop at Costco and bought a whole bunch of stuff we didn’t need!
Mom came over to stay with Walker while we were gone. She always brings treat so he loves when she comes.
Going for a walk with my bestie tonight. She just got home from Panama so I’m looking forward to hearing all about it.
Supper will be a salad with leftover over pork chops tossed in.

dh's numbers in his blood are looking better. they put him on a clear diet today.. but taking it slowly. he got up and walked 60 ft. (he usually walks 2-4 miles).. so maybe comes home in a couple of days.
exercise class was fun and I did a bit better than I did in Dec.

I was followed diligently by my ophthalmologist for a short time then referred to my Retina MD (who is amazing, I love her) Scanned every three months....when the left eye converted to wet the injections started. Not fun, however I am so thankful I was diagnosed early as my Dad was diagnosed after both eyes converted so there was nothing to be done...and his sight failed rapidly. We do what we have to do for the sake of our health...gotta be diligent if we want quality of life!!!

I hope you get good news today tmarschallIt’s cold here too. Had to be up early so I could drop Luke at daycare so I could go to the studio. Then I went to the used bookstore on the way home. Now I’m just so sleepy for no reason. Luke seems to be coming down with a cold. Which means one of us will get it. Hopefully not dh. He’s still coughing from his pneumonia. Dinner is going to be a hodgepodge of rechauffe for us. Scrambled eggs with fruit and avocado for Luke. He barely eats for a few days then he’ll be starved.
