My 1st world problem is my grandson is on spring break with my DS this week. I spent all week free as a bird. I went to lunch with friends, enjoyed a clean house, enjoyed cooking for just me or eating leftovers, and didn't have to spend a good chunk of my time driving him to hockey, weight training, and school.
The problem? They return tomorrow...sob. I love him dearly and he's a joy to live with, but he's a typical 15 year old boy. My clean house won't last 5 minutes!

I was my grandson’s Grammy-nanny from age 3 to 16 (until he got his drivers license last summer.). All school activities, hockey, baseball, sports fitness, every school break including summer vacation. He just turned 17 the other week. He’s on spring break and drove over and helped my DH with some yard work. Next week he and his mom (our DD) are driving to Michigan to do 3 college visits. I was so exhausted taking care of him, but now…wow did the time go fast. And he’s an amazing kid. I wouldn’t trade those years for anything. My first world problem: My ophthalmologist called and rescheduled my eye appointment for the 2nd time. oh well. I really hate those visual field tests anyway.

My first world problem is that my FWB needs a place to crash for a week until his new place to live is vacant ... I am fine with him staying here ... but I don't sleep well with another person ... at all.

I.Will.Not.Buy.More.Fabric. Good luck with that. I have been putting most of my fabric into new storage containers this week and weeding out a bunch of old stuff. So now I have two big piles of scraps that I need to create something out of and store until I get to this project. I.Will.Not.Buy.More.Storage.

I went to Trader Joe's this morning. The parking lot was a cluster. I picked up four things for Easter baskets and a package of pralined pecans. My DIL came for dinner tonight and LOVED the nuts.
Now I have to go back to TJ's to get her the nuts instead. I cannot in good conscience give her the thing I thought she'd like knowing how she felt about the pecans. It is 30 minutes from my house on a good traffic day.

We are currently in Australia visiting family, including our two precious granddaughters. We are more than halfway through the visit and will have to say goodbye far too soon for any of us.

I ordered mulch and it was originally set to be delivered the 30th (today). I was very, very excited because I have time off today and really wanted to get started on yard stuff.
I get an email stating my delivery is rescheduled to Wednesday.
Except I have work on Wednesday, so I then had to reschedule it to Sunday, the 7th.
I'm pretty bummed to have to wait. And irritated that they didn't even call to ask if rescheduling was okay. Just did it.
Very first world problem for sure.

I baked cutout cookies last night. I planned to decorate them today. Jeremy said he would help. I took a cookie decorating class a couple of months ago with a lot of good tips and tricks. So I told him I would show him how. Nope. He told me he doesn't want my instruction. It's frosting, how hard could it be? So I just know he's going to fuck up the cookies. Why are men so hard headed? He doesn't know it but I'm giving all the ones he decorates to *his* kids and putting out the rest for our dinner guests. 😂

I wanted to make simple sugar cookies with pastel colored m&m candies pressed in (saw a cute idea for making them look like little bunnies). My Publix was sold out of Easter m&ms. So I pivoted in the store and thought I’d do the haystacks cookies with Cadbury candy eggs pressed in to look like little bird nests. I was so proud of myself to know I needed to grab the Chinese noodles, butterscotch chips, and peanuts. Peanut butter is the only other ingredient and we had that at home. Four tablespoons was all I needed.
Clearly you see where this is going, right?
I had the butterscotch chips melted in the double boiler before I realized someone left a virtually empty peanut butter container in the pantry and hadn’t put it on the list when it got low.
Back to the store I hurriedly ran.
And I did let him live.

I happened to have my DD with me at Costco this week because she is on spring break and as we were going through the store she kept pointing out things that should have been on the shared grocery list BUT WEREN’T. Hello, folks. We have a SHARED grocery list app for a reason! After about the fourth thing, I said, “You DO realize that YOU can add things to that list too, don’t you? If it isn’t on the list when I go shopping, I don’t always know we need it.” This kid can go through a three pound container of sour cream in about two weeks. And don’t even get me started on the amount of cheese she can eat in a week. It’s insane.

My FWP is I ordered some shirts from the university DS will attend for his Easter basket and they held the order bc one shirt wasn't ready until 3/29, and I didn't realize they were waiting on that. Oh well... I have some things for him now.

Jeremy said he would help. Now that's a whole FWP of its own some days. I can knock some things out in no time at all by myself. And I *hate* to complain about a husband offering to help because I know some never do, but... When he "helps," the task generally grows in scope and ends in me saying, "You're not the boss of me at home. Save *that* for your employees." Lol.

Have three more days off from work. I want to do some Lego building and card making but mandatory things are interfering like house cleaning, fish filter cleaning, dog food making and laundry. Plus I would like to go to eat Dim Sum on Sunday, but that would interfere with Lego building and card making time. Also, I got a bunch of fresh mini croissants and can't decide if I want to make a sweet or bacon cheese casserole. Too many decisions and too little time.

My first world problem is I forgot to do the grocery pickup order last night. Since I am the only one currently cooking in my family I have to go into the store today to get groceries for tomorrow's meal. I am assuming it will be a madhouse.

She grew up in an all female family and they all pretty much just take care of themselves. It is nice to be the mom figure to her that my mom was to me. I had a really good role model.

Mine got solved. I waited until last Monday to order some Easter candy for the grandkids in Canada. When I placed the order, Amazon said it would not deliver until today, the 30th. I thought that was cutting it close since delays may occur etc. However the GKs are now teenagers, so I thought they could just get over it. I was not going to pay$$$ to guarantee delivery. Luckily, Amazon delivered the goodies on Wednesday, so my problem (such as it was) disappeared.

My arm is hurting me like it does in the morning every single day. I need a break from it. My first world problem is that I don’t want “good” pain meds anymore because I cannot go to the bathroom. I have access to first world meds but do not want them.

Decorating cookies is not for the faint of heart, as you well know if you have taken even one class. And mastering the art is something else all together. I can’t tell you how many people in my baking groups have the hardest time just getting the basic icing consistencies right. Too funny giving the ugly ones to his kids! 🤣

A tiny slat on the top of our bedroom plantation shutters broke. (When you try to open or close the slats, this one just stayed shut.) DH called to get it fixed, both of us thinking they'd just send some guy to reanchor it or whatever. Nooo, they removed the whole shutter. DH didn't think to ask how long it would be gone. It's now been 5 mornings, and our bedroom has a whole wall of windows that faces due east/southeast. We are bombarded with sun in the mornings, and of course, we have zero covering on a major bedroom window. Our house sits up kind of high and our room is visible from a main street. (Strong morning sun and visibility being why we have highly effective shutters!) And we still don't know when it'll be returned.

I bought 15 apples, three different kinds, to make apple sauce for Easter dinner (roast pork) at my sister’s house. She’s sick (not a FWP, a sad one) and I had to use the apples to make apple crisp for dessert at my house.
