It's dreary outside but so far it's stopped raining. The egg hunt down the hill is at 9:30 so I'm hoping it stays dry for the kiddos. Dinner will be a first for us ~ breakfast! I've got quiche, hash browns, sausage and fruit. Welcome home scrapmaven !

leannec , have fun w/your gf tonight. ntsf , I'm sorry to hear that your poor dh had a tough night. I hope he's feeling much better today. AussieMeg , how is your ds? Has he finally stayed in his room? I have my fingers crossed that your and your dso stay healthy.
cadoodlebug, cute meme. I hope that the Easter egg hunt is great fun for the children. Their was weather going across the country, but it was fine. I got home, showered and slept like a log. Today I'm going to pull out my current puzzle here and just relax. I have treatments to do, as well. I'm not sure what we'll have for dinner. I might lobby for tacos. At some point I do need to go to the store. Though, after Central Market in Houston my store will be a big letdown. Wishing everyone a happy, relaxing day.

leannec Jeremy has the TV on all the time. I swear he will sit there and watch videos on his phone too. So I will have video music, TV noise, and those blasted birds chirping and I'm ready to pull my hair out because my brain can't focus. scrapmaven it is good to have you back. I hope your trip went well and you are feeling better. tmarschall I was really hoping you would have had some news by end of day yesterday. I hope it's not making you too anxious. I'm decorating cookies. Jeremy said he wanted to help. He meant he wanted to decorate 3. Now I'm sitting here by myself doing the rest. 🙄 His aunt and uncle will be at his mom's this evening. We are crashing her party and eating her sloppy joes. And cadoodlebug I promise you that once you have breakfast for dinner it will be a regular thing.

The turkey is in the oven and the delicious smells are wafting through the house. The turnip is cut, salad is made, stuffing is in the crockpot. Everyone else is bringing the rest (I hope).
The house is relatively clean, I just need to do the bathroom. I’m just going to sit down for a minute…
My bestie and I are planning a trip. We had a trip to Newfoundland booked a year ago and the flight was cancelled so we threw in the towel. But now we are thinking of a cruise. I’ve done an Alaskan cruise, which was the trip of a lifetime. We are open to going annywhere. Any suggestions?

Maybe the Caribbean ... maybe Mexico ... maybe the Panama Canal? My mum is on a walker so we won't be doing excursions ... we will just enjoy the ship!

The egg hunt was amazing. We decided to take our morning walk down there but didn't realize the event started at 9:30 but the hunt wasn't until 10:30. They had pictures with the Easter bunny, food, juice, coffee, story time and a little rain off and on. There must have been over 4-5,000 or more eggs. And people came in droves, probably 500 or more. Anyway, we waited it out and when they said GO those eggs were gone in less than 4-5 minutes. DH was amazed. This was for the 1-5 year old's. This was for 6-12 year old's.

Happy Easter, dinner ladies! I just got a turkey into the oven. Having dd & dgs, dh's sister's family for dinner, so six of us. We will have turkey, stuffing, potatoes and gravy (that I am cooking), and then cabbage rolls, ham, salad and dessert that are coming with them. And a quick little "ad".. I know this is your happy place to just chat, but wondering if any of you scrapbook or make cards? If so, I just dropped a new Donna challenge over on the Challenges board. The challenge this month: What's Cookin'? Feel free to pop over, take a look at the challenge. Then if you decide to take it on, I would love to have you share with us...

Happy Saturday!
I ran some errands with my sister this morning including Costco which wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Then we grabbed mom and went to visit and have lunch with another sister. By that time I was pooped so I came home and took an hour long nap which was very nice. Now I'm just chillin' with the dog and trying to decide if I should take my parents to dinner tonight or just figure out something on my own. We'll probably get together at some point tonight because it would be a nice night to drink wine on their patio or play games.
Hope you all have a great day!

Edited: turns out the doctor ordered an ultrasound in addition to the ct scan and DH never heard that and didn't know the plan (which drives him nuts).
went to see DH.. was not in a good place. he was trying to drink the contrast for a ct scan.. he wasn't allowed to eat and he has serious brain fog from all of this. very strange for him.
I sat with him for 2 hours.. and went home.. as I was driving back, I got a text from him saying the doc ordered an ultrasound, not ct. I've tried calling him but he isn't answering. he must be furious.. I am. after a week. he is seriously tired of being in the hospital. in all his past experience, it was just his leg.. his brain was working. this has made him feel very old. and his mom died from complications of pancreatitis in jan.. and that weighs on him.
dinner seems far away. i know life will get better

Hi I had a painfully dramatic day involving pain pills and a nap. I don’t ever sleep during the day but honestly today wasn’t going well. Things are great now and BFF and I plan to quilt and scrap. I have some fabric to cut but it’s still quilting.
I drove today which felt freeing. I didn’t die. (I haven’t driven in weeks). Things are great.
Dinner tonight will be ham, vegetables and coleslaw. It should be delicious.
Tomorrow is the feast.

ntsf I am sorry that your husband is having such a rough time of it. I hope he's on the mend soon. scrapmaven my Easter wish for you is that you have a lovely relaxing day with your puzzle. What puzzle are you working on at the moment? I used to like seeing everyone's puzzles on the puzzle thread when we were in the midst of COVID lockdowns. How many times can I write the word 'puzzle' in a paragraph? It's Sunday morning here, and I should be at my dad's having brunch. I decided against going, in case I do end up with COVID, and they didn't want me to go with the little kids there. grammadee nice to see you here! Thanks for thinking of us, the April Donna challenge is perfect for us! As you can imagine, I have oodles of photos to scrap that will fit the theme perfectly.

Oh, dinner...... I nearly forgot! I tried a new dish for dinner, and it was really good. It was a Marion Grasby dish: Peanut Chilli Crisp Pork Nachos. I'm not really a huge fan of Mexican / Tex Mex, but I enjoy nachos every now and then, and I love all things Asian, so this dish was perfect! I made a coconut flavoured sour cream as well, which could have been awful but was actually nice.

Dh and I had much needed massages today, then we had to run back to MILs. All of the out of towners are headed back home, so it is her first day with the house all to herself. We felt bad, but we had to pick up a couple things and drop off a bamboo windchime that we bought her. FILs grave is under a tree and there were lots of winschines hanging from all the trees- the metal kind. She hadnt had a bamboo one before and may decide to use it at home instead. After that, we went to a local restaurant that opened a couple months ago. It was very good. I had a club sandwich.

Hi all! Thanks for thinking of us, jeremysgirl and others. I did get the report. It ruled out a lot of things, which is very good news. He still has nodules in his lungs. They are small, and not likely cancerous from the digging I have done. They could become cancerous if they grow, or be nothing. Fingers crossed. Much of his tests have come back normal, thankfully. But his symptoms are the same. Hard to get a deep breath. Running out of air when he talks. A lot of what I've read suggests they may take a wait and see approach to the nodules, and test again in a few months to see if they've increased in size. But how they can make difference as far as improving his actual health/breathing? I'm clueless. More inhalers/steroids? Pulmonary rehab? And why this all of a sudden instead of a slow gradually thing? It really seems like an infection, to come on so fast. Ugh...the 9th is coming so slowly. He has one more test Monday. AAnd then we wait. On top of it his dad is in the hospital. He has a bad heart. So we were in the er with him last night. I feel like we are living at hospitals and clinics right now. We asked last week if there were plans for Esster and were told no, so we made reservations at a fancy Easter brunch buffet. Today we get a msg that everyone is going to Olive Garden for Easter early in the day. Arrrgh. So I guess soup and breadsticks it is grrr! I actually got a ham, mashed potatoes, stuff for green bean casserole, rolls and a carrot cake and we will have our own Easter dinner in the evening. Then we will take cupcakes and gifts over to celebrate Nick's daughter and the grandsons who all had birthdays last week. I'm tired, y'all. ❤️

The Butcher shop had a triple mix of beef/pork/veal on sale for $3.99/lb. I bought 5 lbs and made the best meatballs. Big & juicy, I baked them in the oven. I put them in the freezer. Feels good knowing that I have the base for a couple of meals ready to go.
My ds's family loves meatballs in a creamy mushroom gravy served with spetzel.

ntsf, your dh hasn't been eating and he's likely on strong meds. That would absolutely cause a brain fog. I feel for both of you and wish your dh comfort and healing. tmarschall, good to hear that it sounds like they're ruling out the scary stuff, but I know you'll feel better once you get the full picture. I'm sorry that you spent last night in the ER w/your fil. Too much yucky stuff. Please take good, loving care of yourself and know that you have a tribe standing w/you. leannec, I'm sorry to hear that you have Covid. ICK! Rest and I hope this is a very light case and that you feel fine, quickly. AussieMeg, thank you so much for your Easter wishes. We're going to mil's house for more cleanup and the puzzle down there is a new brand that I really enjoy. I'll see if I can take a photo of it. It's sort of a mediterranean cafe scene. At home I'm doing a puzzle of desserts. If you can't eat it make it a puzzle. I hope that you are able to completely avoid covid.

Sorry I’m checking in so late (about to go to bed already!). Busier weekend than I anticipated. DS wanted me to make tapioca for him and I was feeling kindhearted, so I did. So then I had tapioca for dinner. Tomorrow I have to attend a funeral, for my brother’s childhood best friend. Very sad. Skipping Easter dinner with DS’s family. Probably won’t post tomorrow, but I’ll scrounge something in the fridge for dinner. Sending healthy thoughts to the peas and their family members who are ill. Wishing your DH the best, ntsf, and also your son, AussieMeg. Hope you avoid the plague. Sorry you have COVID, leannec! (FYI, my sister back east is a substitute teacher and she’s had norovirus twice and COVID once in the past two months.)

ntsf is there a hospitalist tied to your medical group at the hospital? When I was in the hospital for the same thing and wires were getting crossed I asked to speak to the hospitalist and she helped to clear things up. Sending prayers. tmarschall I'm glad for the positive news. Praying for more! leannec I really do hate Covid the joy killer. I'm sorry you got hit with it and wish you a light case. AussieMeg how is your son? Hoping you don't get it. My back has been quite the problem yesterday and today slowing me down. Went to the lab for a blood test and braved Trader Joe's for a few things. I made puttanesca tonight and we had rechauffe apple pie. The pie came out perfectly last night. Once DS leaves it's back to my diet. Too much eating this week.
