Anyone have one inside of your wrist? How bad did it hurt?

I'd like to get an ankle bracelet tattoo but I'm afraid of the pain!

I've considered that too. I have a flower on the outside of my ankle..above the bone on both legs. And a small one lower back.

I had a set of skeleton keys growing up and they were a favourite toy. They were just "the coolest toy" and I have good memories. The shamrocks I can see why, too.
I don't know where would be a non-painful place but an inside of a wrist would be fleshy and not as painful as an ankle or foot, no?

I'd like to get an ankle bracelet tattoo but I'm afraid of the pain! I have one on my ankle. The part that hurt the most was on the outside. The rest was more annoying than anything else. I've been told where tendons are can hurt the most.

No, it didn't "hurt" at all. I could feel it, yes, but it wasn't untolerable.

I have both done. They were probably my least painful.

I have one, I regret it because I went to someone that shouldn't have done it. It looks like crap. It hurt like a bitch too. I'm going to assume it was because of his poor technique. The good lord looked over me because the gun broke before he could finish. I never went back.

I have one on my wrist. I didn't hurt but like someone else said you could feel it. It just felt kinda like annoying while it was happening. It was my least painful tattoo out of all of my tats.

I've been told where tendons are can hurt the most. I have a "Toys of the 80's" ankle tattoo and I agree with dknitter...the outside was the worst. And really, just a small area of the outside, but it made up for all the rest. It did hurt quite a bit there, the rest, not so much. I fell asleep during the dragonfly on my shoulder blade so that's an area I always recommend I would imagine that the inside of the wrist would not be terrible, but everyone is different. I have armbands on both forearms that everyone SWORE were going to kill and they didn't hurt so bad at all. To me, placement based on pain level never matters...placement based on where I want a permanent change to my body is much more important. The pain ends...the placement is forever.

I did one on my forearm a few inches above my wrist because to me I thought it would hurt less. It wasn't painless but not very painful at all. It's my son's name and birthdate and it's healing up quite nicely! Good luck, new ink is always fun (for me at least.)

I have to say, you all are WAY braver than me. I've always wanted a tattoo, but I can't get past the pain that I've built up in my head. I'll just live vicariously through you all;)

Have you given birth? It's like a mosquito bite compared to that! Lol. It's really not bad at all. I've been inked 8 times and it's never been intolerably painful. It stings more than it actually hurts. The very worst part for me is right now, about 2 weeks after getting it, when it itches like heck! No scratching allowed!

I have a tattoo on the back of my shoulder and it didn't hurt at all. The same day I got mine, my sister got one all across her inner forearm, and she said it hurt a bit near her wrist but nothing terrible.
We're planning to go again this summer.. I have an idea of what to get, but not sure if I should put it on my other shoulder (where I can hide it) or on my inner wrist.
In case anyone is interested.. I have "I carry your heart with me/I carry it in my heart/I am never without it".
This time I'm getting "As long as I live, you will live/As long as I live you will be remembered/As long as I live you will be loved" with my parents signatures. (They've both passed away.)

Wow those are awesome sayings. Almost all of my ink can be and usually is covered. The one I just got, though, will only be covered if I wear a long sleeved shirt. That's ok with me though. I'm retired now and it honors my son, so I don't mind it showing one bit. I'm finally past the point of caring what other people think and concentrate on making myself happy now. During my career I had to be careful to not get any tats that would be visible due to our 'appearance code.' So glad to be free of that place!

I have a heart on one wrist. I don't remember the pain being awful. Definitely hurt but I think more discomfort than excruciating pain.

It's all one tat now but it started off as one and I added onto it. The first time I went in for my wrist it cost $75 and its about the size of a quarter- maybe a bit bigger but not by much. 2nd time I went in to add on it was $40 and its a bit bigger than first. Two different tattoo places. Trust me when I say- you get what you pay for with tattoos. Don't skimp.

Average is $50/hour and sometimes more per color. I have a very realistic one that I paid $75 for because of a mutual friend plus he was fast. Another, smaller than the one I mentioned, cost $100. Some artists might have a minimum charge.

I got a chunky turquoise bracelet tattooed on my wrist. I also got a feather on my lower arm at the same time. I didn't hurt very much and it cost 300.00 plus tip. I LOVE it! Go for it!

My niece just got a tattoo on her inner wrist and she said it didn't really bother her. On the other hand, my Mom tried to get a bracelet tattooed a few years back and couldn't finish the inner part because it was too painful for her. It's hard to say. Everyone has a different pain threshold and it can affect you differently. And, as others have said-the technique and ability of the artist makes a difference also. I say if you really want and know you will love it, go for it. You'll be less likely to notice the pain if it's something you really want!

I want one on my wrist so badly! I can't decide what I want, and I can't really afford it right now, but before the end of the year I will get one.

I got a tattoo on back shoulder and the pain was so intense I thought I'd DIE. Later people told me its because its a vivid watercolor style? I didn't know, it was all new to me. It took four hours and I paid $350 with the tip. (But it was Hawaii so I figured it'd be more)
I do LOVE my three jellyfish though.
