My niece showed me the "vintage" dishes she is collecting. They are the ones I bought when I first got married!

I'm only a little over 50 years old but I am seriously considering buying a Buick. It has all the features I want and is in my price range. My kids will freak out. LOL! When I mentioned it to my oldest DD34, she said "What are you 80, mom???". My husband had a Buick burst into flames in a parking lot (right after he turned off the engine) and the man still wants another one. He said it was the most comfortable car he's ever owned. I bought my first pair of magnifying reading glasses the other day. My eyes have been very tired at the end of the day lately and I thought these would help. My kids will. not. lay. off. Stinkers.

My son fell and suffered a pretty severe facial/tooth injury last week. Eventually he had two maxillofacial doctors and two dentists taking care of him in the ER (military teaching hospital). They were all at least ten years younger than me. It was depressing . (Son is fine, just looking at some dental restoration in the future.)

I'm so old I've forgotten what it was that made me feel old! But... my husband and I were talking in the car the other day and remembering when it was common to see dogs roaming free all the time. And dogs who would run out and chase cars... very common. And riding your bike or walking and just praying "that" dog wouldn't see you as you passed by. Some things are better now!

You go to a new doctor and he's a hot young thing and you are...not.
I know it's wrong but I so want to start qualifying new doctors by asking how old they are before making an appointment.

I went into "Wet Seal" in our local mall, looking for something for my teen DD, and the salesgirl asked me what I was looking for. I described the item and then she looked me up and down and said, "Ma'am, I think you might find something over at JC Penney."

You just don't need a minivan anymore; a small SUV or sedan would work just as well.

When my eyebrows started to turn white! What is up with that! I'm not even 40! I pluck those bad boys! I started going grey when I was 17 so I am totally white haired now. My eyebrows are as black as they ever were but my eye lashes are starting to turn so I have this zebra thing happening.

When the cashier asked me if I qualified for the senior discount. I guess to a 16 yr old, 49 looks reaaallly old. Heck, I would have taken the discount. Little twit wants to offer it, I'm taking advantage of it.

Wait till the day you realize your doctor is the same age, or maybe slightly younger than your kids... mine could be my 4th child age wise.. so could my boss....

Took DD with me to Sam's club a few weeks back. I got excited over the lawnmower and pressure washer display. I took pictures to show DH later. ( really want a new lawnmower)
DD says "Wow, I guess you know you're a grown-up when you get excited about lawnmowers. I don't wanna grow up" and she left me standing there to go look at better stuff. LOL. I claim it, old and excited about good lawn equipment!

According to my optometrist yesterday, my eyes are getting 'better'. Because of the aging process of becoming far-sighted, and I'm very near-sighted. Not fair!! I am near sighted AND farsighted now!!! Hence the monovision I was thrilled to look at my beautiful new roof..... But I know I getting old when it hurts every time I stand up!!

I don't know when I realized I was old, but I know I am old when instead of wanting presents for special occasions, I just buy what I want for myself. For both birthday and Mother's Day this year I said,"Just come and have dinner with me. I don't want any gifts."

But when she turned 75 she bought a brand new cobalt blue Dodge Charger with a spoiler. Now she turned 80 and is looking at Jaguars.

I knew I was old when my current medical records listed with the current pregnancy I have as Elderly Multigravida. I am under 40... I had to laugh at this! If I'm not mistaken, over 30 is considered elderly with pregnancy...lol. (It might be 35 though now that I think about it)

mine technically comes under the classification of "you know you're old AND fat when..."
At my awesome job, leaving for the day, I trip over my feet on Tuesday. It was sort of a slow motion, tree falling in a forest moment. A BIG tree ... and it sorta makes a THUD THUD THUD sound - and then the starbucks cup leaked water out ... (i had to stress it wasn't me!). Sat there - everything sorta tingled and realized "so all of THIS isn't getting up on its own".
Then my co-workers (who thankfully think I'm bombdiggity) show up. I soon have an army of awesome guys figuring out ways to get my ass off the ground. It finally involved 2 awesome strong guys and a furniture dolly - shit you can't make up.
So the movie version of "it takes a village to raise her up" will be coming out soon (Melissa McCarthy will be playing me) ... and my friend at work who does awesome stand up comedy thanked me for the best material in ages to work with LOL
Then I had an argument with the doctor the next day who said I HAD to file a worker's comp claim. We disagreed - quite heatedly. She knows I'm old now too - I had the crotchetdy thing going on.
What really chaps my hide (besides the blue carpet I landed on) is the fact if hubby's knee had let go 2 hours sooner at work, he'd have a stinking new knee by now thanks to worker's comp. Instead we're on our 2nd insurance company (his insurance got cancelled by his employer) and judging by the doctor I saw on Tuesday, we won't get a knee out of this place either. Damn HMO!
Old, fat and cranky ... thank goodness for this group!

When my daughter announced she's studying the 1980s and 90s in high school history class! OMG! My 15 year old DD brought up Monica Lewinsky as they had discussed it in history class and I realized that was almost 20 years ago! I never thought "history" was supposed to be in my lifetime....lol Seriously, I just bought my first pair of flats. And I wear heels almost everyday. Since I bought the flats, I wear them with everything.

It just made it set in just that much more I am not in my 20's like I was with my first child...LOL I am only 38 for the record.

When the 20 something I work with comes in singing my favorite song by Sublime. I tell him "that's my fav song" he says " I know, its your ringtone. Its one of my moms fav songs too." In my head I'm like wtf my oldest is only 14 yo. His mom has to be waaaay older than me. So I ask how old his mom is and come to find out she is 40. So yeah were around the same age

When I am old enough to be the mother of all my classmates. LOL!
Even better, 3 of my professors from last semester are younger than me. One has her doctorate. The other 2 are my age.

Thanks for the laughs and memories. On the plus side, I had to see my work doctor today because I failed the corporate mandated hearing test. While we were talking, she asked me how much longer I planned to work. I told her I had been thinking about retiring and she told me that I am "too young and healthy to retire!" Bless her, of course she is older than me. Then she lectured me about getting more fit! I was wondering if that would restore my hearing.

I'm wearing Frankenstein's boot because I injured my foot while walking. I take pole, yoga, trapeze and aerial silks but I hurt my foot through ordinary walking down the hall at work.
