Well it wouldn't make my dreams come true, but do what makes you happy. We won't laugh. Much.

I had a PT Cruiser as a rental for a wee and hated it. The turn radius was awful. Terrible blind spots. I didn't find it roomy at all. I shared a car with another girl and our 2 suitcases would not fit in the trunk. One had to go on the bac seat. I was happy to turn it in. what is a rental for a wee?

My neighbor in Va had a blue PT cruiser. It was PERFECT for her!!! It absolutely matched her personality! A month before we moved she had her husband out there putting eyelashes on the headlights for her. So awesome! I miss them, they were fun.

Yup, the turning radius was awful. Forget ever making a u-turn on a tight street.
The only good thing I liked about it was that the seats really folded down for being a little car.
Like I said, it was a novelty when it first came out. Wouldn't be a car I would choose to own again.

I'm heading off to test drive this thing...it's either this or a slightly dented 2007 Ford Focus. *sigh* ETA: If I decide on the cruiser, I'm defintely getting one of these as well: Go TOTAL nerd! Love the decal!!!

Ummmm I know lots of people who call them PT Losers....for me I wouldn't drive one unless I absolutely had to. However if you like it and think it's a cute car than buy it, you should love the car you are driving regardless of what other people think.

Have you driven a PT Cruiser? I had one as a loaner after an accident once. The blind spots are terrible. I am just saying really check the blind spots. I couldn't see out the back window properly nor over my shoulders well. I turned my body to look and still missed cars. Just check your blind spots well, ok? She's right. I owned one. And the novelty of the shape wears off quickly. I will NEVER own another one. Probably the worst car I ever owned. Jen

I ended up with a Chevy Spark rental a few months ago. It was surprisingly fun to drive such a tiny car. We could get into any parking space in the city (I was in Atlanta.) It had no pickup, but was an awesome city-driving car. LOL, we even fit four adults and some suitcases in it -- me, my daughter, and her two friends. We fit just fine, but looked like a clown car!

I didn't really mine the PT Cruiser until I rode in one. Visibility is really bad. I agree. My friend had one and the seats were so low. I felt like I was peering up and out.

DH bought one of those blue PT's when they first came out in 2001. It was a novel little car. Now we have a Mini Cooper as the zippy car. Please give me the low down on your Mini Cooper. I think they are so darn cute.

I drove one as a rental car a few years back and enjoyed it. There was space for everything and yet it was low to the ground. I had one as a loaner when my car was being worked on years ago and I really liked it

There's a PT Cruiser club here. They get together for rides, parades and little parking lot "shows". No bling is overlooked, some have panelling, flames, custom paint jobs. The owners look like fun people- wide age group too.

We rented an HHR for a road trip several years ago and it was SO comfortable! We were visiting Civil War battlefields and there was a lot of getting in and out, in and out of the car for four days, and it was just right for stepping in and out and not feeling like you had to haul yourself out. I loved it!

Well...I test drove it and it was a fun little car! Couldn't believe how big the back was with the seats folded up..I think I could haul a small horse back there (no plans to haul a small horse)! The AC wasn't working so that was a bummer. But holy blind spot, Batman! That and the fact that it doesn't get great gas mileage. It was fun though. And that Ford Focus had hailstorm damage...like, a LOT! Couldn't see it in the pics. We're expanding our search. Or maybe we'll just bite the bullet and get the Mercedes E320 they have there. We loved that one! Drove beautifully...even had our own mechanic check it out. He said it was one of the cleanest cars he'd ever seen. But if we get that, we'd be over extending ourselves and we just don't want to do that. Plus, at 111,000 miles, what are the odds the transmission is just about to go out? And that's a $6,000 repair we can't do right now. Ugh. I hate used car shopping. Maybe we buy the Cruiser and just get it fixed. The price is definitely right.

There is nothing wrong with a PT cruiser. It is a reliable, affordable car. If it gets you from point A to point B safely and affordable then that is what's important to me.
I had to buy 3 cars last year. If there had been a PT cruiser on the lot in my price range I would own it today.

The other thing to think about with the Mercedes is insurance, it will be a heck of a lot more than the PT Cruiser or Focus or something like that.

Nope. There is no other possibility. Unless you park next to one of these Every time I see a car this small, all I can think is "oh look, a coffin on wheels"

I think they are so darn cute. we love our Mini! DH drives an SUV so with gas prices being what they are, he wanted to get a smaller car that's more gas efficient. For me, the Mini was the only option. the other itty bitty cars out there just didn't look as fun as the Cooper and I'd been wanting one for years. we have a Mini Cooper Sport. it is the classic, 2-door body style and not the bigger or longer models they also have. it even has the cute racing stripes in the front. we were surprised to find that the Cooper is unbelievably roomy inside. it looks small on the outside but it's really open roomy. if we want to zip around, we can easily fit with the two dogs in the back and still have our seats pushed back. the seats in the back fold down well so we could do our Costco shopping. we tinted all the windows and the two sunroofs because it's like sitting in a goldfish bowl when the sun is out. I am not a sun lover so the tint was a must. the car came with Run Flat tires but when it was time to change them, we went with regular tires because it rides smoother. our car has blue tooth. the car has a bunch of fun LED colors you can set as the backlight to the interior. it may not matter to some people but the A/C is great for being a little car---better than in my Mercedes. we have it serviced by an independent BMW mechanic. servicing isn't cheap but I guess that goes with the territory when it comes to BMW technology. overall, it's a great great car to have.

My friend used to have one. They are classified as an SUV because they have something that only SUV's have in the build.
When we went to Disney we had an HHR as a rental. OMG that car was horrid!!!! I have never ridden in something so uncomfortable and cheap in my entire life! I am NOT a car snob.

Thanks for filling me in. I love that you have the racing stripes. They make the car look so much cooler. I think it would be a great car for around town. I do very little long distance driving so I think it's worth looking at for a second car.

Ditto most of this! I've driven a Mini Cooper since 2009 and I'm absolutely still very much in love with my car. I don't think I'll ever drive another type of car again. I have a long drive for work (65 miles one way) and this baby gets great gas mileage. So fun and zippy to drive also. Mines blue with the white racing stripes.

Before we got married, my husband lived in a neighborhood with a neighbor who had a red PT Cruiser with flame decals and a vanity plate that said "SIZZLIN." But seriously, the only thing worse than a PT Cruiser is a Chevy HHR.Ha ha ha ha! My sister has a PT Cruiser, but only because she couldn't afford the HHR!
