I also had a friend who worked for Cantor Fitzgerald back during the first bombing -- she remembers having to go down all those flights of stairs and the older partner (can't remember if it was C or F) told them all that if something happened to get down as soon as they could and if they couldn't go down to go up.....and if they couldn't to pray. He passed away before 911 and the other partner as a b*stard to the dependents of employees who died. These guys lived on yearly bonus checks (commissions) that were to be paid out as of 10/01/11 and the partner refused to pay any of the full years bonus or any wages to the widows/children for a long time. He was not a nice guy. He immediately dropped all benefits too. Sorry, but that's not true. I had a friend who worked for Cantor Fitzgerald that died in the 9/11 attacks. Perhaps the initial reaction of the company, that lost 2/3 of it's staff that day wasn't perfect, but in the end: Cantor Fitzgerald promised the families of the dead employees 25 percent of its profits for the five years that followed the catastrophe of Sept. 11, 2001 During those five years, $180 million was paid out to victims’ families as promised Every victim’s family received free health benefits for 10 years after 9/11 from Cantor Fitzgerald www.cantor.com/CD/charitieswww.prdaily.com/Awards/SpecialEdition/38.aspxen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cantor_Fitzgerald
Sounds like after his bad behavior right after it happened that he came around to help the families. But that was not his original stance. Maybe he was in shock and not sure that the company would survive. Glad to hear he actually came around and did what was right.

What's their explanation for the death of the passengers on those planes, then? Aargh. I mean, I do get having questions re: who knew what, and when. I've always been suspicious that the attack could possibly have been thwarted, and wasn't, so as to justify the Iraq war. I say they believing they didn't expect so many to die, and that they didn't have the specific details re: what the attack would be. But that's still a far cry from trying to argue the planes never crashed into the buildings. That sounds as bizarre to me as not believing there were concentration camps exterminating millions of people.

Too many people here (greater Boston) were directly affected by the events of that day, so I haven't personally encountered any of the conspiracy nutters in these parts. Believe me, it would not go over well AT ALL. DH's company lost 7 people that day. I have no doubt that there are crazies who scream "conspiracy theory" any chance they get, though. Holocaust deniers, Kennedy assassination conspiracy crazies, etc. They're out there. Lisa B. "Conspiracy nutters" What about the Sandra Blands case? Are those people "conspiracy nutters"? Conspiracy that the police is out to get you, or those that deny the medical examiners report that she killed herself. Would they fall into that catagory as well? Sorry, but if someone, anyone, told me to my face that planes did not hit the towers I'm not sure what I would do. I sure would be very upset and angry. I SAW it. LIVE! So yes anyone who says that a plane did not hit the towers and that news footage was in some way doctored IS a conspiracy nutter. To me. And probably a whole other list of impolite words. However I don't expect anyone to believe just little ole me. That's not what makes them a conspiracy nutter. What makes them a conspiracy nutter is that they refuse to believe thousands of eyewitness accounts. THOUSANDS of people saw the second plane live, in person, not on TV. HUNDREDS saw the first plane live in person. I do expect people to believe THOUSANDS of eyewitness accounts. So if someone saw what happened in the jail cel then they can tell people they are conspiracy nutters if they want to. Unfortunately though comparing the situations is like comparing an apple to a freight car of produce. Not an equal situation. I think from the video we can all tell that the situation was handled poorly by all. We are all human, we all make mistakes, it a problem that this mistake ended in a person's death. It's a sad situation all the way around. Without actual witnesses no one will ever know exactly what did happen, so people will speculate. That's very different from a situation that had thousands of witnesses.

My good friend's friend from college worked for Cantor Fitzgerald and was killed. That same friend's sister in law was in Manhattan on business, staying in a nearby hotel, and was with a group of people running down the street when the first tower collapsed. The stories like that are endless, and I have a very hard time believing people who say it was all a hoax and didn't happen. What dumba$$es. Same goes for those who believe the Holocaust never happened. My brother knows a group of people who truly believe that old empty warehouses across the country are being turned into concentration camps for Christians because Obama wants all Christians killed.
Some people are too scary for words.
Well, that big yellow cross I had to stitch onto all our clothing does give all those small businesses the right to not serve me. I'm practically starving. I can't find food anywhere! Smh

I saw the second plane LIVE in person ( not in TV ) so how would they 'create' a plane and alter my live view across the river? That's some special effects program It's a Brave New World.

These people are similar to the ones who believed that Operation Whatever It Was In Texas was really Operation Obama Trying to Take Away Our Guns, Declare Martial Law, Stay in Office Until I Feel Like Leaving and Then Send The People To FEMA Camps Where We Will Get Our RDIF Chips So The Government Can Control The Populous.

Not just the WTC, Jade Helm #?, Sandy Hook, Boston race, Sandra Helms, New England Patriots "deflategate". All "conspiracy nutters"?

Should have warned her/ticketed her and let the courts deal with it. It was never an arrestable offense. And then just got crazy from there.

I'm talking about those that think she was a target because of her race, bad cops, and those that don't believe the Examiner who says she took her own life. There were those that didn't believe Sandy Hook Examiner either. Plus the 9/11 truthers.. aren't they all rolled in together into the "conspiracy nutters"?

I don't have the information to hand, AND I'm not a conspiracy theorist, however it is well documented that races are targeted and reading earlier an article written in the mid 1980s about how many alleged suicides happen to young, black, activists in custody. I think there are conspiracy nutters and then conspiracy nutters. Some have a rightfully high suspicion of certain groups because of relevant past behavior.

That's a new one! Our ceiling has stains in places where the snow melt has leaked down into the inner ceiling. Something about the circles and crop circles just set him off. I avoided him like crazy. He was nice, so lots of people got stuck talking to him about these things. Oh oh! Our library has all these perfect circles all over our ceiling. We have been told that it is water leakage. And my little weird, black cat DID fall out of the ceiling one day! Perhaps she has been sent here to spy on us and will one day take us all up to the mothership!
I do know someone whose husband thinks the moon landing was a hoax. But thank goodness, no one I know believes that no planes crashed on 9/11. I worked briefly with a man whose twin brother was killed in the trade towers and can only imagine how heartbreaking it would be.
However, recently I watched an interesting documentary on the JFK assassination which presented the possibility of it being an accident caused by one of the Secret Service men. I still don't have a firm opinion but there are some questions for sure.

Corinne
Seriously?? And what do these geniuses think Lee Harvey Oswald was doing with his rifle up in the Texas Schoolbook Depository that morning? And why did he murder Officer J.D. Tippit that afternoon?

Lucy, from memory their theory was that Lee Harvey Oswald WAS shooting, however he missed and one of the secret service guys rifle went off when the car took off and it was his stray bullet that hit the president.
I had never heard this theory before and like all good conspiracy theories they had various reasons and I remember there was a photo?? of the SS guy with his rifle?
I wish I could remember the name of the documentary, it was a while ago that I watched it so I could easily be mixed up. I'll try and google it and see if it is available to view.

Corinne Thanks for responding. I love how I was all up in arms when I posted that the other day, and now I'm all like, okay whatever. Don't mind me. You don't need to go research it on my account. It was a momentary annoyance over these people who will basically say anything to make a quick buck. grrrrr

Corinne The name of the book is Mortal Error: The Shot That Killed JFK, A ballistics expert's astonishing discovery of the fatal bullet that Oswald did not fire. And it's on amazon. I was bored one day and read about it, haven't read the book yet but it did very much intrigue me and the author does make a very solid case. He's not saying LHO wasn't guilty of attempted murder of JFK just that his bullet missed and the SS guy accidentally fired and hit JFK. Very interesting.
