We just got back from vacation and out of 700+ bird photos (UGH) I got one that I really love (to be fair to myself, most of those pictures are taken for identification purposes, not intended to be prints or anything, but still... That's an especially terrible ratio LOL). Anyway, thought I'd share. What's your favorite image you've captured recently? We came across this gorgeous Great Horned Owl yesterday at Camp Polk Meadows near Sisters, Oregon. Just stunning and so close. We stood quietly and watched him for quite a while and he just stared at us. We've seen Great Horned Owls several times before, but never quite like this. And how amazing is that camouflage?? We found another one in a nearby tree, but she was sleeping (and barely roused when we walked under her tree)

I'm quite pleased with this picture of a sleeping duck, we came across them unexpectedly on the seafront while on holiday.

@busypea, the owl against the bark is superb. It's the sort of thing you see on photographic web sites. I think it would do well in a competition.
Cute family pictures too!

Gorgeous photos all. My owl-mad dd went crazy for the first amazing picture though - wow! I took this one this week in the dome on the Reichstag building in Berlin. Amazing place.

I haven't got any recent photos as nice as any of these already shared. But talking about bird photos.... yesterday I heard a couple of kookaburras on the power lines on the other side of the street opposite my house. I raced to get my camera but by the time I got outside they had flown away. I was actually going to video them as well so I could get their amazing call for my 1SE video.

Wow...some incredible photos here, ladies! I always love seeing Refupea photos, whether miscellaneous or family related. These are a few that I took recently. A young neighbour. We went for a drive in the country a week ago and came across this unmanned plant stand (there were tables full of plants off to the right) using the 'honour system'.

Seen very close to our campsite on the weekend. They are standing under an apple tree and are apparently seen there quite often.

I am in love with them!!! After we lost our shar-pei, I was seriously looking into getting a bulldog. They are so damn cute. The shorter life span I saw when reading about them is what stopped me. We were so devastated when we lost Abby, that I just couldn't do it. Yours are ADORABLE...feel free to share pictures, lots of pictures, anytime!

I love the camo in the first one, it's pretty amazing how they blend like that for their own protection. I am NOT a bird fan, I'm afraid of all of them, so I'm glad you shared owl pics!

I love over these threads! Here's a close up of DS lounging on a pool chair last week during our vacation! He was a tough cookie to capture this trip, but I got a few cute ones.

Picture sharing threads are always my favorite!
Here's DS and the GF. We celebrated her 20th birthday last night. As you can see...I gave gifts. We have all come a long way from where we were last year!

Check out in your first photo, just right of his chest, it looks like a bird head with a blue eye, (well to me )

The last school year was SO difficult for Erin. First, we moved in June and she was miserable all summer because she didn't know anyone here. Then she started high school knowing NOBODY and hated it. Just as she was starting to make friends, she had a concussion and missed over a month of school. In January, she was diagnosed with ADD, anxiety and depression, and we spent the rest of her 9th grade year finding a good combination of medication to help her with school. It was rough... Fast forward to this summer... Erin has a great group of friends and has barely been home, as she's been enjoying hanging out with her friends and doing all kinds of things (county fair, beach, amusement parks, sleepovers, shopping, you know... teenage girl stuff). Her orientation day for her sophomore year is this Thursday, and she's actually looking forward to it. Her BFF for sure is Yvette, on the left in this picture. She's adorable and I love having her in our home. Erin will be going to Palm Springs (and perhaps Cancun) with Yvette's family, and we're already planning on having Yvette come with us on our vacation next summer. I'm so glad things have changed in such a positive way for Erin, and hope her sophomore year is as wonderful as it could possibly be!
