I'm pretty new to buying rubber stamps and dies, so I'd appreciate any opinions on the company Papertrey Ink and their products.
I'm making my Christmas cards this year and found some dies and their matching rubber stamps from Papertrey Ink. It appears that the ONLY source for purchasing them is directly from their website. So I did some searching on the company and ..... oh my! All I mostly found was negative reviews of their customer service. Lots of order and shipping issues with very little, if any customer service in dealing with the problems. Almost no one had anything good to say.
I did notice that the reviews were several years old, so perhaps they have improved??? On the other hand, I can not seem to find any recent positive reviews, either.
Does anyone here have any experience with Papertrey? Or should I look elsewhere for what I'm wanting? I do love that set of dies and rubber stamps, but for $60 I'm a little cautious of trusting a company with so many bad reviews. Sigh.
TIA

I am a fan of PTI. I have bought a few things from them directly but their shipping is high so I usually order from someone who orders for a few people so she gets free shipping. The shipping is much cheaper when she reships to me. I have never had issues with their products--stamps and dies. Hope that helps!

I have purchased from PTI for years and I would say "buyer beware". You may order and have zero problems. But if you have a problem, they have been difficult to deal with, taking the position that "the customer is always wrong".
I do like their card stock. Their ink has been problematic - I think they are on version 3 or 4 of that. There are a lot of people who use PTI stamps so there's much inspiration to be found. Their forum is highly policed and only sunshine and rainbows allowed there. As a result, it's a shell of what it used to be.
I haven't had a problem recently.

I love their products and order regularly. They recently shipped the wrong item, and it was a simple process to exchange the item. I think they had a lot of issues when they redesigned their website a few years ago and a lot of customer service issues snowballed. I think things are under control recently.

Thanks. It sounds like it's still a "mixed bag" of results. Bummer.
I see on their site that they will take PayPal, so that may give me a glimmer of protection in case I have problems.
I think I'll continue looking for products similar to what I want from a different vendor.
Darn Pinterest for showing me lovely pages & cards made with their dies and inks!
Thanks

i have ordered from pti many times over the years and i haven't had problems. it is worth it, if it doesn't stretch your budget too much, to order $79 of product because then shipping is free in the united states. i live in canada so shipping is costly but i have since solved that problem for myself by getting a usa post box. i don't use their inks but i do really like their card stock. the dies cut so well and they only stamp i ever had a problem with (one of many, many!) they replaced with no questions asked.

I have ordered their cardstock for years and years and have never had a problem. I have heard of lots of CS problems from others, however.

I have heard nothing but horrible things about them and the CS service is horrible. I remember back in the old pea site a lady posted a nasty message the owner sent her all because she mentioned on a thread she had a bad experience with them. After that plus all the other things I heard from people I said I wouldn't give them my business.

I've ordered from them off and on since they opened. Some of their products and designs are really beautiful so I risk it. I've only had 2 issues and CS solved them quickly and without problems. However, some of my friends have had issues and CS gave them major attitude. It's really hit and miss and depends on the mood of the day for CS. She seems to be a loose cannon.
I pay with Paypal only. If there's ever an issue you can contest it. Also, I've heard that a lot of people have had their Credit Card hacked after ordering with them. I know it's hard to pinpoint it and can be blamed as coincidence, but another friend of mine is in IT and says that their security level isn't the best.
But with all that said, I do occasionally still order from them if I'm in love with a product. I think the last thing I ordered was the Tinsel and Tags kit and I absolutely LOVE it.

I know there have been issues through the years, but I've been buying from PTI since 2009 and have never had an issue with an order. I've contacted CS a couple of times to get replacement stamps (they'll replace lost ones if you send a picture) and never had an issue there either.
Love the card stock and the dies and stamps are fabulous. If you've found something you really like, I'd place an order.

I've been ordering there for about three years now. I have only ordered stamps, dies, cardstock, and some Make it Market kits; I've never used their inks. I've found the product quality to be great (the stamps are really detailed), the designs to be pleasantly non-cutesy, and the kits to be well thought out.
I have only once had a customer service issue to bring to their attention, and they dealt with it quickly and completely to my satisfaction.
I have read of other people having problems with them and I don't want to discount that at all. But I have probably placed 20 orders with them, and have been happy.

I order once a year or so from them. I find the quality to be good. I've ordered stamps, dies, card stock, twine, leaf ribbon... It's all nice stuff. I've never had a problem, so I can't address the CS issues. I do know that I've read here and from the old site that there are problems.
On the 15th of every month there is a new release. Sometimes the shipping is slower because orders are higher. But I've only had it delayed a day or two. If you subscribe to their emails, you get sneak peeks and some great project ideas each day.

I used to order form them often when I had disposable income. I haven't ordered from them in a few years, but I never had a problem with CS and loved the quality fo their products and how nicely they packaged my orders. BUT I do know many who have had issues in last 1-2 years, and I have no idea if there has been a change in quality or not. I am curious to hear form anyone that ordered recently.

I don't remember ever having a problem with them. But to be honest, it's been well over two years since I ordered. I discovered Simon Says Stamp and place most of my orders through them. I should check PTI again.

I used to participate in a group buy with some other women (to save on shipping). I have ordered 8 times with this person. We have never had a problem with any of our orders. Maybe we just got lucky?
I love their stamps. I also get the die that coordinates with the stamp every time I can. I check PTI every single morning to check the sneak peeks. I love the 15th! My bestie and I discuss the new releases ad nauseum. Then we decide what we have and what would be good to supplement.
I like their inks as well. The colours are just so awesome! (I bought them and the re-inker together one month.)

My last order was in June. Completely hassle free, and I haven't noticed any change in the quality of stamps/dies. I haven't ordered card stock or ribbon etc in a while. There was a time a few years ago when everything used to sell out super fast, but they have a much better inventory control system now and seem able to predict numbers etc. The other thing that has impressed me about PTI is that Nichole is willing to listen to customer requests/suggestions e.g. there was a change a few years ago in how Release is run after customer requests to bring the time forward to 10pm EST rather than midnight, and to reveal all the products in the morning to allow people to have several hours to decide what they wanted to order, rather than a mad scramble when everything went live in the shop.

For a couple of years I ordered almost every month, and have ordered sporadically this last year only because I don't *need* much more stuff I have never had an issue with my order.

I just had a problem with PTI. Using one of their stamp sets for the first time I thought one of the stamps was missing (it's a two step stamp but only one step is provided) - the back of the package shows five characters and all the stamps used to create them. But one character has a stamp missing so I questioned it and was accused of attacking the owner. Instead of just admitting I might have a point or saying she was sorry I was unhappy, she made me out the bad guy. Reviews of their customer service is dead on. They don't really care if you're happy or not.
