This confession is weirdly worded to me. I went to their site and there was a <Click here for an important message from the Duggar family> link that linked to a facebook page with that confession on it. However, the confession is not found on the regular fb book page for the family or Josh and Anna's. Wondering if it is a hack? I was thinking the same thing. But the link to Michelle's blog looks legit. Well, I think it is after all. Wow!

Also, while I REALLY want this latest revelation to be true because I abhor the Duggars, I am finding it hard to believe that Josh would even know about a site like Ashley Madison. I consider myself pretty internet savvy and my head isn't buried in the sand, but I have never heard of it prior to the recent hacking incident. Granted, I'm not LOOKING for this type of website, but I'm surprised that Josh, who is supposedly so cut off from the real world due to his upbringing, not only accessed it, but also signed up and provided his credit card information. Like I said, I WANT it to be true, but I'm not 100% convinced yet. If you work for an organization like he did, I am sure you hear all about disgusting porn and other sites. Just like I know all the reference sites for my profession.

This is weird. This "confession" keeps appearing and disappearing on various Duggar sites. I followed the link in the People Magazine article and the page is now completely down with this message "The page you have requested does not exist or is undergoing routine maintenance." Could all of the Duggar pages have been hacked? Or perhaps they are fine tuning their pages?

It's like if I'm on a photo forum or website I'll see ad's for cameras.

Ashley Madison got a lot of attention on Twitter and in tech news when it launched, based on its premise. I knew about it and am definitely not looking for anything like that. I suppose it depends on what you read.

If Josh's confession/apology is legit I'm currious if he told his wife the truth before this was released in the media yesterday. I mean the whole AM thing has been out for awhile now so he had to know there was a chance his name would be put out there. I just want to know if he had the balls to tell Anna then or if he actually waited until shit hit the fan in the public yesterday.
I have no idea why I'm so currious about this specific detail lol.

I laughed out loud when I read that the Duggar loser was one of the first to be outed. What a surprise. Not. And his wife will be one of those idiots who stay with their loser husbands instead of doing the right thing and getting the hell outta there. Thank goodness the wife of the Fogle loser is doing the right thing. I hope that Anna Duggar has some options of places to go, if she wants to leave. She has four young children, probably not much education or any career skills, probably no money in her control, and my guess would be that her own family has close ties to the Duggars, since the marriage seemed to be arranged. So, so sad in many ways. Jared is a creep (and read that as something much, much worse that's unprintable).

I'm dying to know if the Duggar's website was hacked!
I thought I read somewhere that Ashley Madison was 90% male users? So who are the women signing up to meet married men and why? I mean why would you pay to meet a married person when you're single? Or was it free for women?
I bet the reason the site hasn't been taken down by the owner is they are getting so much publicity with the hack, they are getting lots of new users who had never heard of the site before and perhaps the hack only affects previously registered users?
Why do you think so many users sign up with their work email address? Is it so their wife doesn't see it at home? Or because they're an older generation who feel comfortable doing everything on their work email?

Thinking the Duggar site has crashed. This all keeps making me irrationally angry. Marriage, sex, beautiful children, decent jobs/wealth ... and it's NOT ENOUGH for these guys. So they go get their jollies sneaking around on the side, the excitement of the chase and something forbidden. OMFG (yes, irrationally angry)

First of all, a good lawyer would see that she gets plenty of money out of a settlement. There are likely tons of organizations that would love to support her as well. There would be a lucrative book deal I am sure. I'll bet she has plenty of inside information on the Duggar family that even the threat of writing a book would result in a nice payoff from the family to keep her trap shut. Then of course if all else fails, there is always the good old fashioned get a job approach. Everyone has skills in one area or another. Cashiering in retail or waitressing or doing daycare or cleaning houses may not afford her the lifestyle she is used to but millions of people survive just fine by working hard. And she'd get child support which I would imagine would be substantial. I have no doubt she would survive just fine if she decided to get out of that snake pit of humiliation. Whether she'd choose to or not is another story. Sadly, many people sacrifice their dignity for dollar signs. Hoping that isn't the case and that she can move on to a more 'normal' life with a chance to find a good man, or even be alone without a bad man. Go Anna!

Free Jinger is saying the original statement was pulled, revised (by their PR people) and there's a new version. I have a feeling that new statement will be reposted later.

I'd be willing to be that she stands by her man. They'll pray about it; say God has forgiven him and God and prayer will get them through it; and then will say this has brought them closer to God. She won't go against that cult and divorce him.

Yes, but he could have denied it was him, blah blah blah. At least he owned up to it and admitted being a total hypocrite. Believe me, this is *very* faint praise.

Sick, sick, sick
I've seen many commentators on Christian sites claiming Josh is a victim of a crime and that shaming him for this is victim shaming.
Some men are saying that "don't want to get hacked, don't go on the site" is the same as saying "don't want to get raped, don't wear revealing clothes".
But now the liberal media has different standards for this conservative family.
Why does anyone still feel compelled to make excuses for Josh Duggar?

Statements From Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and Josh Duggar August 20, 2015 Statement from Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar: Please see the statement below from our son Josh regarding recent media stories about him. When we learned of this late last night our hearts were broken. As we continue to place our trust in God we ask for your prayers for Josh, Anna, our grandchildren and our entire family. Statement from Josh Duggar: I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife. I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him. I brought hurt and a reproach to my family, close friends and the fans of our show with my actions that happened when I was 14-15 years old, and now I have re-broken their trust. The last few years, while publicly stating I was fighting against immorality in our country, I was hiding my own personal failings. As I am learning the hard way, we have the freedom to choose to our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences. I deeply regret all hurt I have caused so many by being such a bad example. I humbly ask for your forgiveness. Please pray for my precious wife Anna and our family during this time. Josh Duggar From the free jinger site. I'll try to find original link. At this time, even though he fessed up, I don't take this recent "apology" at face value. I predict, as others have said, that he will say he has a sexual addiction, will go to a church sponsored "therapy" place/construction project and continue his behavior because he is a man in that family and all will be forgiven. It's been revised slightly. No references to p0rn or addiction or trust. Interesting. Statement from Josh Duggar: I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have been unfaithful to my wife. I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him. Like they thought the original would disappear and not be compared to the new statement? Do none of them actually understand how the Internet works?

Jared's has nothing to do with hacking or Ashely Madison. You should probably read up on the data dump before you comment, they have released *everyone's* names in a similar fashion. This. ^
I think there is some confusion because the title of this thread lumps Jared Fogle and Josh Duggar's names together but these incidents are entirely unrelated. Even I had to do a double take because I never heard of the Ashley Madison website.
Jared Fogle was caught by the FBI in a child porn raid.
Josh Duggar was a client on Ashley Madison, a website for married people to find extramarital affairs and was outed when that website was hacked.
Completely unrelated and I hope that clarifies things.
It does. And quite politely too. Thanks.
