I'm going to have the stuffed chicken and rice pilaf I didn't make last night. The pork roast dinner I was invited to last night was fabulous! My friend cooked it on his Green Egg with a honey garlic rub on it. It was so tender and juicy it almost melted in your mouth. His wife, my girlfriend made sautéed cabbage with bacon and noodles, fresh sweet corn, cheesy garlic toast and a cheesy potato casserole. I ate like a pig I met the guy the same night I met my late DH in the fall of 1971. My DH and he started first grade together. I met his wife a few years later and they're like family. I've invited them to dinner and she'll show up in her Jammie's and robe that's how close we are. So, I didn't feel one bit bad about eating like a pig, we all did I'm sure you didn't want to hear all that so the question is, what are you having for dinner tonight?

We are heading out last minute to a bbq, so what ever they are serving! Will grab some chips and dip on the way. If hungry later I'll have left over chicken tomato soup I made last night

Anything that will require salsa sauce. I have been busy all day long, cutting the veggies and putting the spices together for cooking salsa. I will can it later tonight. I also made red pepper jelly as it is so expensive in the stores and so easy to make.
Probably will get some pulled pork out of the freezer & eat it with fresh corn and the above named salsa sauce.

Pancakes (not the breakfast type pancakes Americans make), because DD9 and her cousin begged me. Not too fond of them myself, but I'm an omnivore, so if it's food, I'll eat it.

An Outback Steakhouse copycat recipe, Alice Springs Chicken, macaroni & cheese, steamed cauliflower, broccoli and carrots. Cooking dinner and laundry are the only productive things I'm doing today. In fact, I'm about to fold up some clothes then promptly take a nap!

We had a huge salad along with a baked potato. No meat for us today. DH was going to cook out but changed his mind.

I think thats why the dinner threads have the readership that it does. I like the details. I read the Whats For Dinner threads the morning after they are posted so I can read all the responses at once:) Tonight I am having a simple green salad. This weekend I've been eating quite decadently despite my stomach issues. Want to get them under control for work tomorrow.

I've had a Boston butt in the oven since 740 this morning. 225 degrees wasn't getting the job done, so I just pushed it up to 350. Have to let it sit in the oven for a couple hours once it gets to the right temp, which is why I had to bump the temp. I don't want to eat at 8pm! We will have potato salad, Cole slaw, cukes and carrots with dip. The pulled pork will be on buns.

How do you make your pancakes? 5 eggs, 3 tsp of sugar, 5 dl flour, 10 dl milk. Served with bacon or blueberries. They are larger, but thinner, than yours.

We had zucchini, carrots and mini peppers in the fridge that needed used so I sautéed them up and then pureed them. Then I added them to homemade spaghetti sauce that is cooking in the crockpot. I'll make meatballs later to go with it. Also have some herb bread and will make a salad and add in tomatoes from our garden.

We had a very impromptu invitation to go out on my step son's boat at a local lake...8 years and it was the first invite so we went. It was wonderful!! I'm now in the car waiting while Dh picks up dinner...grilled chicken Greek salad for me and fried haddock for hubby!
Eta: for those who like the whole story, this is the parking lot where the accident which cost me the sight in my right eye took place. Dh asked me to please not get out of the car!

As predicted, I got invited to a BBQ, but it was my son who invited me, not my sister. Since we're spilling our guts today (as if I don't always, anyway) I have no idea where my sister went, but her hubby is coming with me to the BBQ. Maybe she's at the office being overworked again. I guess I'll find out eventually.
Anyway, I forgot I was mad at my son and answered the phone when he called, so now I guess I'm spending the afternoon with my boys and the girlfriend's family. Bye!

I suppose I should be thinking about that, shouldn't I? I should have boiled and deboned my chicken yesterday, but never got around to it. So I did it today, and right now I the bones boiling for chicken broth. I think that probably whatever I end up with will include chicken and broth. I will update as soon as (or if) I come up with something. I'm sure you didn't want to hear all that so the question is, what are you having for dinner tonight? I actually like hearing the little things-one thing I like about the dinner threads is that it tends to be a lot of the same people who respond. I feel like we have kind of gotten to know each better simply because of the little stories that we casually add when we talk about our dinners.

DH is firing up the grill, so we're throwing everything on there that we can. I had some chicken and pork in marinade in the freezer, as well as some steaks. The farmer that we get our beef from called earlier this week and told us he's butchering on the 22nd so I have to move the steaks out to make room for more!
We'll have grilled veggies on the side. Yum!

I made beef stew in the pressure cooker and made cheddar biscuits. Took some to my mother and also to my DXH. Have been cleaning/sorting in my craft/scrap room most of the day. Should have started it yesterday but was too lazy! I've at least made a dent in it and may do more before the end of the day.

After weeks of just putting food on the table, I actually made an entire dinner tonight. Having time today was a wonderful luxury. Everything from scratch tonight! Shepard's Pie with a steamed broccoli side. I also made a crumb topped apple pie. It came out a little dry but nothing that a big scoop of vanilla ice cream can't fix.
My poor DH is so pleased to be eating a read home made meal. But, who knows about tomorrow night...with school and tutoring I won't be home till after 7 p.m.

We'd planned on BBQing skirt steak, then learned today is the first fall ball practice of the season from 5-7, ugh. Planning to stop by a local mexican place on the way home to grab dinner.

I am making the tarragon chicken recipe I posted last week. It was very tasty. Tonight I have zucchini instead of asparagus, just to see how it tastes, but I suspect this will be good with any veg I want in it. (Which is good because I need to eat more veg, no matter how much butter sauce is on them). I have mashed potatoes to go with it but now that I see airforcemomof1 is having cheddar biscuits, I need to check the cupboard because I think I have a mix for some of those, too! And maybe pillsbury cinnamon rolls for dessert later.
