I just joined too I've wanted to for a few years, even at the old board, but never got around to it. Excited to give it a go this year.

Count me in! I'm going to start much earlier this year - I had so much fun with it last year. Thanks Angie for doing it again

Happy holidays everyone! I'm a bit of a Scrooge about Christmas in general, BUT I love Christmas cards, so I'm already excited.

Can you get the list without adding yourself? Like, what if I wanted to send out a few cards, but didn't want to receive any? (I am pretty private in spite of what I share here and would be really uncomfortable sharing my actual name/address, but I wouldn't mind sending out a few 'anonymous' cards. ) Can you get a PO Box for the season so you can participate without putting your address? Or would you still feel uncomfortable giving your name out? I think this board feels different from the previous board. Safer maybe? I guess any of us could have a stalker from here. Would the PO Box make you feel safe enough?

I don't want my address given to anyone who doesn't trust me with their address. That just how I feel about it if anyone else wants to give her their address maybe they can PM it to her instead of her getting the full list.

Really, it was just a question and I have no plans on taking it any further than that. Please be assured that I will not, in any way, make any kind of issue out of being told that there are those that are uncomfortable with it. Honestly, the bottom line is I am a person who likes to do things anonymously. You know, the whole random acts of kindness thing and paying it forward...but really, it is okay if the list isn't shared with me. I can always find a different way to be a Christmas elf.

Maybe I said it wrong. It did sound a little cranky, sorry. I was just suggesting a way for people who didn't mind that you wouldn't share your address to get cards from you by PM you their address. I didn't think you were forcing anyone to do it or had an issue with it. I saw where someone else said the same as me and you said you understood. But maybe some people don't mind and are willing to do a one sided swap.

I have a PO box and always use that address for the Christmas cards. But honestly, I usually just put my home address for the return address on the actual cards. So if anyone wants to stalk me, I'm fairly easy. But I was just going to suggest a PO box for those who want to participate but would like more privacy. No one is going to know if you fiddle with your name a bit, right?

She got more cards than I did that year

**Angie**, sorry I missed that part ... I would be happy to mail internationally. ETA to U.S. peas mailing internationally: I just looked up the international rates. It used to differ by region, but now it all seems to the same price, at least for Canada, Australia, and Great Britain. $1.20 for a letter one oz. or less, and no weird shape or thickness issues.

I've signed up again this year. Last year I will admit to being a flake and not getting my own cards out (I have reasons and excuses but won't trot them out), however I soooooo enjoyed getting the cards. It was my first Christmas being separated from my dh, living alone, and not in our family home of 22 years. I didn't have room to get out many of my beloved Christmas decorations, but could easily put up the cards. So thank you for those who did send them last year, and I will totally not flake this year!

I will mail to the whole list as I did last year. We had a ball doing it. It was a highlight for my two youngest DD & even all of the LEO guys commented on the cards at the holiday party.

My Dh and Ds were so po'd every time the mail came. After the first 15 cards, they stopped checking the mail. Lol Dh kept asking "do you really know this person?" I have a horrible memory but I could usually remember some tidbit about the person.

No one is going to know if you fiddle with your name a bit, right? I love that I "live in a box" we only have PO boxes here, no street delivery. I love that when i have to enter my name and address in things that it doesn't put my street out there. Not that in my small town you couldn't find out where I live. I will mail internationally since I'm from Canada and I assume the majority will be in the USA.

@**Angie** I would also be happy to mail internationally. Sorry that I missed that in your original post. Eta-well, that's not working...obviously I missed the lessons on tagging people If tagging with the display name doesn't work, click on the person's name and it will take you to their member info. Find the Username (over toward the right side of the screen) and it will be different from the display name (we know that because tagging didn't work). So then you tag the actual Username and it will show up on the post as the display name you're accustomed to seeing, all nice and tagged and all. In your case, I just need to tag your display name because it's the same as your Username. heartlandBut for Angie, I have to tag her Username (angie) which is different from her display name **Angie**. **Angie**
