Gyros: We buy the meat at Sprouts. Buy pita bread and we make our own tzatziki sauce with greek yogurt, garlic, white pepper, and cucumber (I don't like dill in mine it over powers it). Add feta and done.

This Korean Beef dish is a favorite of a lot of people here on this board, myself included. It is CHEAP and it is QUICK so fits your criteria. Normally I'm not a fan of ground beef, my spoiled taste buds can't bare to eat ground beef more than once a month. But I do like this dish. I just downloaded a recipe that calls for a can of navy beans, Polska kielbasa, a can of crushed tomatoes, and spices. She called it a white bean stew.
Oops: I see no tomatoes. Okay, forget the second one.

Gyros, these take 10 min tops Yeah, gyros! I get the Opaa ones in the freezer section. The meat is precooked. (Look for the one that makes six sandwiches, because it comes with pita instead of flatbread!) I buy tomatoes (which I dice) and a sweet onion (sliced really thin) to put on it, just because that's how it came at a restaurant I used to go to. Serve with french fries. Yum! This is a super awesome recipe for baby back ribs if, like me, you do not know how to grill them. Baked potatoes have been one of my fill-in dinners. (Fill-in, as in, I can't decide what else to put on the menu for the week.) If I am not specifically having them with the crockpot chicken chili I posted above, then they have been ending up as ham and cheese potatoes-- I just dice up some sandwich meat and shred some cheddar cheese. I usually add green onions, too. Get a fresh take-n-bake pizza-- my grocery store's is my favorite, but I like Sam's Club's too (and theirs are huge). I can make my half spinach and mushrooms, and the other half a carnivore's heart attack. Or Papa Murphy's I think has $10 Tuesdays. I like this Baked Ziti. You can easily halve it (for two people, you should). I like it better with italian sausage. See if your grocery store carries Papa Charlie's italian beef. (It's usually in the freezer, by precooked meatballs and things.) Just thaw it in the fridge and then heat it on the stove, then make sandwiches (provolone or mozzarella cheese) and toast under the broiler. I like to cook up green peppers, onions, and a banana pepper to put on mine. In the winter, I will make a version of Olive Garden's zuppa toscana. (It's a good use for the other half of the pound of italian sausage you're going to buy for the baked ziti.) You don't like fish but do you like shrimp? Baked Coconut Shrimp. If you want a pina colada sauce, mix some yoplait coconut greek yogurt with sour cream and some finely diced fresh pineapple. (There's a recipe for making it with coconut cream, like you'd use in an actual pina colada, but that stuff is like $5. A carton of yogurt is $1.) Serve with some type of cheddar biscuit, a salad, and other side of your choice. Watch for sales on the shrimp--get it frozen but raw. I can often get a 2-lb bag on sale for about $12. They thaw quickly in the sink. Also, yes to the korean beef! ( Ryann, here is a link, I hope.) oh my lord, this post makes my mouth water. I definitely love a twice baked/stuffed potato. Especially good with that shredded bbq chicken, or chopped beef. Yum. I can't wait for soup season. My mom makes that toscana soup, and hers is even better than OG. I have a bunch of soups pinned and ready for it to cool down (still high 90s and HUMID here).

That sounds good too.

Fry ground turkey or turkey sausage ( or pork sausage)
Add soy sauce , ginger, garlic and a bitof Sugar and mirran ( or white wine)
Add onions , carrots celery and cabbage cook until the cabbage is wilted.
Serve over noodles or rice.
Add sesame seeds or peanuts. And thin chopped salad onions.

This Sticky Chicken is another one that is cheap, quick and low calorie. Only 4 ingredients: chicken thigh, sweet chilli sauce, soy sauce and peanut butter. Oh, and coriander (cilantro) to serve. okay, so we've decided that we're just going over to your house for dinner ;-) Add four more- we'll make it a party! Homemade mac and cheese is so simple to make. I use the old Better Home and Gardens recipe from the original cookbook.
Store bought rotisserie chicken can be used for a myriad of recipes. I use it for lemon chicken pasta, tacos, enchiladas, etc.
Turkey burgers-easy to make, breadcrumbs, pepper and ground turkey. Grill onions or sautee mushrooms for toppings. Serve w/oven baked fries.
Sandwich night-Make your own w/fresh ingredients and fresh rolls from your favorite bakery.
These are just simple ideas.

$20 for the meal. The meat is a big ticket item, but this guy is a homegrown Texas country boy and won't go meatless. I used to be fine going without, but having eaten with him so long, I'm kind of the same way now. 1 meal and $20 for two people and you don't care if it's not nutritious? I'd totally buy fast food!

Pizza totally crossed our minds, but we're so over fast food. Neither of us have traditional work hours, so we don't cook too often anymore and really miss home cooked meals. If I have to eat chick fil a one more time... (I'll probably eat that again tonight, sigh)
