"Just trim the dead ends...don't want to lose much length".....and you lose at least 2-3"!!!!!! ** adding the fact that it was barely at a length I liked anyway but had to remove dead ends

You're 17. If you want to dress up for ComiCon tomorrow, you are more than capable of sourcing your own costume. I happily worked for hours on your Hallowe'en costumes when you were little, but back then I knew the characters you wanted to be. Nowadays I have no clue who these game characters are, so how on earth can I come up with a costume for you? (The day before the event.) Grrr.

more of a sad feeling than a vent.
I found a beautiful dog running in the middle of the road, most people ignored me when I tried to flag them down to help me catch her. Finally someone did, we caught the dog, put her in my car, I called the # on her tag and was told "well, are you going to bring her home". I did. The woman didn't even say thank you, didn't even pet the dog when I let her out of my car. If I didn't already have 3 dogs I swear I'd ask if I could keep her.

I'm on the last day of taking an antibiotic for a UTI. I feel lightheaded & don't feel like doing anything-- it's the only day I have this week to scrap all day-- and I still have UTI symptoms. Ugh...

My vent for today (and I don't usually post in the vent threads), is that I was REALLY looking forward to attending an fun family event today, and instead I'm stuck in bed (couch now) with the flu. And DH had to be out all day for a work-related volunteer event (so he couldn't really decline it, plus he had to commit before either of us knew I'd be stuck in bed with a raging fever & body ache, etc). wah, wah, wah...
At least I have DS15 here with me to bring me soup and tea - in between his marathon sessions of Skyrim. Sigh. He really is being a sweetheart tho, and DH went to the store this morning to get fruit and other essentials.

Ugh... Funny you should mention a UTI...I'm not entirely certain that what I have is the flu, and I've been considering whether it might be a UTI (or kidney infection) instead...I had a few symptoms similar to that the other day, and then they seemed to stop, but UTIs with me tend to be mostly asymptomatic. OTOH, many times when I go to the DR for a suspected UTI, I'm told it's just a "sensitivity". (yeah, until it becomes an all-out kidney infection! UGH!) So, I'm just kind of playing the waiting game with this and may be at the doc on Monday AM if I'm not starting to feel better.

People walking in parking lots. I mean, sure, if it wasn't illegal I would have ran you over. I know, I know you have to walk in the middle of the road at a toddlers pace. She would have been cute to watch if I didn't have to follow you for 35 cars. Yes, I counted. Please, I'm in no hurry to be later than we already are. What? You could have moved over and let us drive by? You would do that for me? But you didn't now did you. And when I FINALLY got around you, you shot me the death glare. I know, I could have honked. I'm sure the baby would have loved that. Or maybe, you could be aware of the fact that you are walking down the middle of the parking lot which is a lot like walking down the middle of a ROAD. I give you two gold stars for your specialness today.
To the mom who burst into younger DD's gymnastic class to find out when her dd's class started, you my dear are a piece of work. You argued with the teacher when she told you that you were 20 minutes early which wasted my child's instruction time. But! When you brought your DD back, you were late which interrupted my older DD's instruction time. But as you stood in the room and explained how you signed up late- missing the first week - and would miss the next week because you had a funeral to attend- AND then demanded to know when the teacher was going to make up those classes-- that was an outstanding display. I know you missed the teacher's face where she was aghast at your behavior, but the rest of us didn't. We also enjoyed you leaving and allowing us to witness your amazing parenting skills as your daughter wrecked havoc in the class. Her ability to scream loudly and push when she didn't get to go first was really cool... too bad you weren't there to intervene. BTW- she's a little kid. Do you think leaving her for the first time in that environment was such a great idea? Sorry you'll be traveling next week and we will miss you.

There was a parade today in town. dgc really liked it. It was sad that people would cross the street right in front of floats, instead of waiting until there was a pause in the parade.
Then there were the smokers, dropping their butts everywhere.

DS1 has two performances today. Ex had to work during the first one. His GF couldn't be bothered to go. The second one is at 8pm and is only 40 minutes away. He gets off at 5. His answer? I don't think I can make it. Seriously asshole? It's 40 minutes away. If you left at 7, you'd be there early. You live 3 minutes away from work. Your GF is off today. I'm sure you can cook dinner and eat it between 5 and 7 and make it out there. Fucking loser. But know what? My kid will know that both DH and I were there to support him. Considering that I remember how few shows my parents came to and how unsupported I felt then, I will make sure he knows I am proud and do support him. Ex is missing out. And this wonderful, awesome GF of his? Yeah, stupid bitch doesn't want to support the boys because they aren't going to HER alma mater.

In May I bought three large flower pots from Lowe's. They were $60.00 each. One of them has split open down one side. My Lowe's doesn't have anymore. I can't find them online. I drove 40 miles round trip in the rain today to a neighboring town to see if the Lowe's there had them. None there because there is no Lowe's there--only a Home Depot.

When your baby is in the NICU, answer the freaking phone when someone calls from the hospital. Don't call your baby's nurse and say "Somebody just called me. Who was it?" I don't freaking know. It could have been your baby's medical provider, physical therapist, speech therapist, social worker, or some other person caring for your baby. Don't get an attitude with me when I tell you I don't know who calllled or what they wanted. I am a registered nurse, not a secretary.

Vent to self: new medication isn't going to work. I vomit up the pills at night and the pain that they cause means I can't walk the next day. I can't live like that. Thus I am crazy again. I showed up at the hospital to take care of my mom this morning bawling my eyes out. My mother was so upset that I was upset. I didn't want to upset her. Thank god she has dementia because she quickly forgot I had been crying. (I never thought I would say that). I am debating if I need to go to emergency psych services tonight.
I also asked my friends to stop calling.

On my days off, I clean the house from top to bottom, fold and put away all the laundry that DH washed (usually 4-6 loads), grocery shop and cook (and clean after). When DH has a day off, he maybe cooks a meal, mows the lawn if it needs it, washes his work clothes (but doesn't fold or put them away) and that's it. But usually he sits his ass on the couch and watches Netflix and plays Clash of Clans. The only reason he cooks is because he'd starve otherwise. His excuse is that he rarely has more than one day off in a row while I often have 3+ but since I spend 2-3 days getting the house back in order it really only feels like 1. He claims he's tired. Me too!!! Yet I'm still the only one who does the bulk of the cleaning.

I went to bed with a migraine that was hurting so much that it hurt to put my head on anything. I woke up to the migraine still lingering. What a great birthday gift. SO started a second job today and my sons didn't even acknowledge my birthday at all until he came home at 4. I am finally feeling like a human after feeling like a squirrel in a blender all day.

UTI's aren't fun! Unfortunately, I suffer my fair share. Drug stores have UTI test kits that are over the counter. Today my Dr advised I buy & test w/one before filling the prescription she called in for me. Use that test, and if positive, call your Dr's after hours number.

My mother told my daughter that my brother may be at our 30th anniversary party next weekend. The alcoholic douche wasn't invited. Mom told him he could just show up. My daughter has been planning this party for months. He better not be there drunk on his ass. Forget mom's 'we should all get along speech,' I'm not putting up with him and her excuses for him. I'm dreading what should be a happy occasion.

I left my house at 7AM, I worked from 8AM to 7PM, then drove home and got home at 7:30PM.
Stupid ass neighbors are having a L-O-U-D party. I'm very tolerant, don't say anything. I realize it's Saturday and 7:30 is a reasonable hour. I was understanding until about now ... It's now going on midnight, so I decide to venture over and see what in the hell is going on.
They allegedly went around the 'hood saying to just drop by and they'd happily turn down the music if things got out of control. No need to call the cops just give them the word.
I go over and say "hey guys, I know you don't know this but you're REALLY LOUD. Do you think you could turn it down a bit, it's getting pretty late!" and I was sweet as pie.
The guy standing outside the house tells me to go fuck myself. Someone else tells me to go to the library and mind my own fucking business. (I was wearing glasses)
Someone else told me to shut the fuck up, and I smiled and said "No problem. I'm just going to go ahead and call the cops, and you can tell THEM to go fuck themselves, and see where that gets you" and left.
They yelled at me all the way down the street.
Fucking assholes.
It's 12:15AM and they have no intentions of stopping. I have no intentions of stopping repeated phone calls to the police until they turn that shit off.

Just because I'm out of hospital doesn't mean I'm better. There are still more tests that will need to be done, and I will be on antibiotics for a long time. Surely the 3 of you could manage to do some of the housework. The house is a disaster and when I ask for help, I don't seem to get it, even though you told me to ask when I needed it. Maybe I'd be better off back in hospital.
