How long does it take to get used to an underwire bra???

I've been wearing them since I had boobs and I'm still not comfortable in them. I only wear them when I am out and the girls need to be reigned in and propped up. I use a sports bra or none when I'm at home.

Is it too tight, not sitting in the right place? I've never felt anything sticking in to me and I've always worn underwired. I do have the worlds smallest boobies though!!

I'd be taking them back.  A well-fitted bra should make you more comfortable, not less.

I have small...really small...boobs, and I've been wearing underwire for 25 years. I still hate them with a passion....first thing to come off when I enter the house.

A well-fitted underwire should lay flat on your chest and you breast tissue should lie comfortable in the cup. If the front of the wire where the two cups meet, gaps or is not sitting flat against , your wire/cup does not fit you. Looking from the dies part/under you are, the wire should lie flat against the side chest, not digging into you chest wall. It also should not be "short" and layout on breast tissue-if it is, the cup is too small. When you have the bra on, and the band fits correct, and you bend forward, all of you breast tissue should be in the cups, and the wires should remain against you chest. If it pulls away, the band may not fit, the cups may be too small. If it stays against your chest, but the cups are really loose and your breast do not stay in place, the cups are too big.

It doesn't matter what the salesperson says you wear, if that bras wires are not where they should be, and your breast don't fit in the cups correctly, it will never be comfortable. The first time I put on an underwire bra was the first I put on a comfortable bra. I had a good saleslady teach me the above fitting tips. And I think Cacique bras stink with their fit! These bras have cups that are too big for the wire and the wire are too small for the bands-makes the wires poke the arm and your boobs are propped up instead of well fitted and properly placed in the cup. Every time I try one on, I fill like my boobs are being shoved up under my chin. I hate them. Give me a good Sears Ahhh Bra style anyday, or even a Playtex with a natural breast line underwire. I have wearing underwire for 40 years.

Having one that fits well is essential, but also, IMO they need a few wearings to stretch or break in.

If it is uncomfortable, then it doesn't fit. Go back and have them re-fit you.

As a teen, my mom carried on and on and on about how awful underwire bras were, miserable, horrid, etc. I was in my 20's when I tried one, and thought it was heaven. The girls (even back in their perky days) weren't sagging down against my chest. From there it was a slippery slope to colored panties, tank tops and general whore-dom. She tried to rein me back in when I was pregnant, telling me that I couldn't wear underwire while pregnant but by then it was too late.

This doesn't work for me.  I'm so uncomfortable w/o a bra that I even sleep with one (not underwire). 

How long does it take? 0.01 seconds. Any longer it is the wrong bra for me!

I don't mind sleeping in one. It's the last thing that comes off at night and the first thing that goes on in the morning. When I was in labor it was awful to not have a bra on - big as a barn, in pain, and those gigantic girls flopping and sagging and sweating all over the place.  By kid #3 I just refused to take it off. The nurse said "what if there's an emergency?"  I pointed out that if I walked into the emergency room having a labor-induced bra emergency they would be able to figure something out, and I suspected the L&D nurse could manage too.

Where did you get fitted? I'd be returning the one you have now - it doesn't sound the the right fit.

This is me too.  I'm starting to worry because my favorites are wearing out.

Uh, yeah. I'll let you know when and if I EVER do. Some are better than others and tolerable. That's the best they do, tolerable.
