Total comfort food that brings me back to my childhood...meatloaf, scalloped potatoes (mashed for dh) and mashed butternut squash. I also put some mini apple pies in the oven while we ate dinner but I'm too full right now for dessert!

Leftovers from the Greek restaurant we went to last night. That place puts so much food on a plate I can eat for 2 days. Soooo good.

Yay for booze akathy! I was hoping to get away with not cooking tonight but dh saw an ad in the local frozen food place's flyer (M&M if you are Canadian) ... they have pot roast on sale that looks really good so I went and bought that so I guess I'm cooking We'll have it with mashed potatoes, gravy and peas ... not exciting but at least everyone will eat it which, as you all know, is a rarity in my house ETA: If time allows, dh might even make his famous Yorkshire puddings ... OMG ... we all looooove them

I'm making a salmon risotto or salmon and risotto since I'll probably grill the salmon separately.

We are eating leftover pizza from last night. Between ds' early morning fall ball game (27 degree wind chill), the MSU-U-M game, and the Cubs game, we weren't exactly feeling like cooking. We thought today would be ds' final fall baseball game ever, but his team won, so we will be back out there tomorrow. Hoping for a higher temp and wind chill, but it will be close!

Finising off Thanksgiving turkey (Canada): pot of soup on the stove, plus "turkey pockets" in the oven (made a turkey/mayo/onion/cheese mixture and put it inside biscuit pockets...we do this with tuna and chicken a lot!)
My 17 yr old son is pacing the kitchen waiting for something to be ready!!!

It's dh's night to cook and clean up the kitchen, so dinner will be take-out from one of the many take-out menus he keeps handy.

I defrosted pork chops so I'm planning to make those with roasted potatoes and some kind of veggies. BUT: The 6yo is off partying at his school's fall festival with my BIL and I'm baking peanut butter cookies, because, ya know, I'm just that kind of grandma. And also because I was craving peanut butter cookies. Anyway, if he's eating a lot of chili and hot dogs or whatever up at the school right now, I probably won't put much effort into cooking dinner.

I was on Pinterest earlier and saw that you could hard boil eggs in the oven so I gave it a try. If it worked, we will be having egg salad sandwiches and cut up veggies.

I'm making Easy Thai Shrimp Soup. Not sure if anyone but me will like it, but there's leftover pizza from last night for those who don't.

I have a chicken soup in the crock pot. It was this one that brandy327 posted last week. Except I forgot to buy wild rice so I'm using brown rice. DH have been out and about for the past 5 hours and just got home. It smells soooooo good! I just opened the lid and gave it a quick stir. Looks like a winner!

After reading the soup thread, I decided to give Pioneer Woman's Chicken Tortilla Soup a try. The chicken is roasting (or baking?) in the oven right now.
ETA: This recipe lived up to the hype! Yum!

I was also inspired by the soup thread. Tonight I made a soup recommended by alissa103. It's Creamy Chicken and Rice and it was fantastic. It goes into our winter soup rotation.

Because it's National Pasta Day, I made spaghetti. And I'm not a cook.

It is surf and turf for us tonight. Youngest DS is home from school. DH wanted steaks so off he went to buy them. Got home and said, "did ya know you can get crab legs already steamed at the store? You just order, they cook, you pick up." Nope I didn't. So he went back for crab legs. I can't wait for dinner!

We had fajitas and beans. Nothing fancy, but I didn't feel like cooking. I had DH grill the chicken and veggies on the grill, so it was easier to clean up.

We had steaks, mashed potatoes and green beans. It did! I baked them at 325 for 30mins. Put in an ice bath for about 10mins to stop the cooking. The peel was super easy to get off too.
