If you set a yearly goal, how are you doing on your reading goals this year?
I had a goal to read more books than I read last year. Last year I read 31 books total, and with the book I just finished I'm at 32 for this year. I know I'll read a few more, so I'm thinking I'll end this year with 36 or 37 books read. I think my goal next year will be the same again, just to read more than the year before.
I keep track of my books is a notebook, and I like looking back over all the books read. I started the notebook in 2012, it's neat to see trends in my reading.
So, how are you doing?

I use goodreads to track my reading. I really like it and being able to look back and see what I read. My tastes are terribly lowbrow - mostly mysteries, with the occasional trashy gossipy biography (royal family, celebrities) thrown in.
I read 129 of 100 in 2014 and 92 of 100 so far this year. My main goal is to clear off my shelves. I have an embarrassing richness of books to be read.

I to love Goodreads. Helpful way to keep track and see what books I liked and didn't. I don't set a goal of how many I want to read because I go through phases of reading non stop to not picking up a book for a few months.

My goal was 26 books. I'm almost there but I keep using my free time to knit and scrapbook. Before my 2 year old was born, my goal would be 52 books. I keep up with my books that I read on the Delicious Library program.

I set my goal at 50 and I passed that quite a bit ago. I started listening to audio books when I'm walking or driving alone a good distance, so that is what helped me pass my goal so early. A book a week is a reasonable goal for me.

My goal is 50 and I am 3 books behind and that is with finishing 2 this weekend. I think this might be the first year since I started the challenge that I won't make it

I also track on GR and love the site. The peas pointed me that direction in Dec. 2013. I met my goal last year - I think it was 100. This year, I also set 100. Sadly, I am wayyyyy behind - I would need to read nearly a book a day for the rest of the year to catch up. Yeah, like *that's gonna happen! Next year, I will set my sights a bit lower - more realistically! Lisa

Another Goodreads lover here. I set a goal of 50 books for this year, and yesterday finished my 53rd. I absolutely LOVE reading (duh...).

I keep a list of books I read on my iPhone. I don't set yearly reading goals, because I am very competitive (even with myself) and I think I would be tempted to pass on any really long book which might take a really long time to read.
For example, I just finished reading The Stand by Stephen King and really loved it, but it took me about 3 times longer to read than most books would have taken. If I was behind on my reading goals, I might have picked a shorter book and missed out on a great read.

My goal is 52 books a year. I'm on #50 right now. I love Goodreads too for all the reasons listed above! I actually hope to read beyond my goal and usually do. With the holidays coming, I should finish the year strong.

I do GoodReads too. I set a goal of 52 for the year. I'm 2 books behind, at 43 so far.

I also use Goodreads to keep track. But for whatever reason I had no idea that they had reading challenges, so I haven't been strict about tracking what I read. When I figured this out in April or May of this year, I set a challenge of 20 for the rest of the year and have been better about keeping track. I am about to finish book 23. I promised myself that I would set my goal for next year in January so I could have the whole year!!
I typically read a book every 7 to 10 days, probably 45 a year.

I don't use Goodreads, but must check it out for next year. I set a 52 book goal this year, I'm reading #47, so should be able to make my goal. I would read more books if I didn't surf the web so much!

I set a goal of 50 and I started my 45th this morning. It's going to be tight to get to 50 by the end of the year but I'm still hopeful I can do it. This is the first year I set a goal for myself.

i lowered my goal for this year. I love to read and I have yet to hit the 100 mark, but 90 is about my threshold with my busy life. I knew this year I needed to spend a little more time doing other things AND I was thinking I might take some college classes (I didn't but likely will this spring), so I didn't set it for 90 like I have been.
This year I reduced the amount to 75. I am at 60 of 75. I am five behind. I can still meet the goal if I get two books done a week (or 1.5 a week and hit it hard during Christmas and Thanksgiving break).
I may not make my goal. I was ahead for most of the year, but this school year is really stressful and jam-packed, so I just do not, literally....not just "not making time", have enough hours in the day.

I don't set goals for myself. I read each and every day. This year, I've read about 90 books and I just read until I finish a book and then immediately start a new one.

I don't set goals on how many books to read. Mostly because I don't have a difficult time making time to read. It's my favorite down time activity.

My goal has always been 50 and I have never met it. I have come close though. So far this year, I have only made it to the halfway point of my goal.
I just got burned out on all the duds I kept reading. I started a new book today and I hope it is better.

I don't have a goal, but I do keep track. In 2012 I read 56, in 2013 and 2014 I read 70 each year. So far this year I'm at 65.

In addition to Goodreads, I track in a notebook after the Great Accidently Rereading Jean Auel Debacle of the mid-90s.
My work role changed this year and I will not be making my goal of 125 this year, but wI'll hit 100

I wanted to hit 125 but I will probably only hit 100. Will have to try harder next year.

Another Goodreads user.
I set my goal this year for 125 and reached that this week. I have just started my 127th book.
I started listening to audiobooks in 2013 and managed 26 books, 2014 it was 95 books. If it wasn't for audio, I'd get no where near as many. This way I can multitask, I can listen to books on commutes, while walking, doing chores, in the shower etc. After years of not reading due to not having the time to 'sit and read' I'm loving audiobooks and how they have brought 'reading' back into my life.

I love Goodreads! I had a goal of 100 books and right now I'm at 106 books. Even if I didn't have a goal I would read a lot. I like keeping track.

I try to read about 100 books a year. I am at 94 now, so I should make it. I have been keeping track of the books I read since 1993. The least I have read in a year is 91 and the most is 139.
I keep both a paper record and on Goodreads.
