I would love to try a new liquid laundry detergent (I have a front loader). I am in the middle of laundry day, so I have laundry detergent mindset! I want to try something new for a couple of reasons. First, my kids sometimes exchange outfits with their friends and they always comment on how good their friends clothes smell. Yet I would probably get some looks from shoppers if I start taking off the tops of detergent bottles in Target to smell the detergent! Second, on the bed sheet thread, many of you commented on how you love just washed sheets. I can't tell the difference! So maybe I need to try a different detergent. What are your favorites?

I use Tide liquid, I'm not a fan of the pods, and Gain dryer sheets. For my bedsheets, I also use Downey lavender fabric softener.

Tide liquid. I am digging the yellow version for the lower price.

I use All Free & Clear. Due to skin problems we avoid fragrances like the devil. I never, ever, EVER use anything with a smell. DH would breakout horribly. I also rinse with vinegar.

Persil non bio here. My mum used it so it smells right to me, although in reality it has a very light fragrance.

Persil 2-in-1 has become my favorite since I picked up my first bottle in the spring. It smells good and does an excellent job. DH comes home filthy and sweaty from the railroad yard. ODS is 15 and smells like a 15 year old boy. YDS is 4 and does things like fingerpaint with ketchup at preschool. Clothes all come out clean and smelling great. Right now, I think the detergent is still a Wal-Mart/Sam's Club only thing, but it's not something that is their store brand. They just have the exclusive right to sell for who knows how long. I make my own, but I love Downy fabric softener and I think that's where the majority of the nice scent comes from!

I use Tide powder in Original scent. (I know that probably won't help you with your liquid needs)

Unscented, no matter the brand for sure. Tide, when I am feeling particularly wealthy (and during baseball season), Kirkland brand or All otherwise

I was using the Tide HE pods but switched to All free and clear pods for the baby.
I can't touch cheer or gain. Breaks me out terribly.

I use Purex (Mountain Breeze scent) for both detergent and fabric softener, although my towels get a vinegar rinse every other wash. Purex is the best detergent I can find that isn't insanely priced.

I use Tide HE pods. I won't use anything but Tide. DH reacts to everything else I ever tried, so I just stick with what works.

I use Tide powder (original scent) and Downy (pink cap). I use Purex for cold water. Rinse with vinegar. I use vinegar to rinse kitchen towels and and dishcloths. I tried using vinegar on the rest of the laundry but dh insisted that none of the laundry was clean because it smelled dirty. Apparently, he likes the artificial clean smell of fabric softener.

I use Tide he the unscented kind in the white bottle and Downy lavender scent. I used to use the regular scented Downy until my sister implored me to switch because she couldn't stand the smell of our clothes. Funny thing since I switched, I can't tolerate the regular scented stuff now either!

Tide liquid. I have used pods, but they never fully dissolved in our HE machine, I think not enough water.

So maybe they are branching out.

Thanks for all the recommendations! I also use Tide HE (original scent and spring breeze). I love the mountain breeze, but it's not HE and I didn't realize it until I had already been using it.
I use vinegar too, I have three girls and their clothes stink! I put it in the fabric softener part, but I don't know if it is just used in the rinse? But my friend told me that vinegar is great on smelly girl clothes and it makes the towels softer.

I use Cheer with Snuggle fabric softener. People comment all the time at how good our clothes smell. LOL! I want those comments too! Our family doesn't have any issues with skin breaking out from scented detergent, but I haven't really used fabric softener. I will use it on some clothes, but not all too check it out first. Thanks for the tip! Is it Cheer with snuggle fabric softener in the Cheer detergent? Or are they 2 different products?

I use Purex liquid.
I find, with scented detergents, that I only notice the scent on clothing and sheets/towels the first few times I use it (like if I switch from one scent to another), and then after that I no longer notice the scent. I know that's normal, but when I'm using something that smells really nice I wish I could always detect the scent!
