I'm going to buy Gain next time. My son and his family use it and during my last visit out there, I did their laundry for them while they were at work. It smelled SO good! I've used several brands over the years and haven't found one with a nice strong/lasting scent, so I'd kind of given up and just go with Purex or White Rain because they're inexpensive.

I've used Gain for years and really like it. A couple of months ago I bought Tide with Downy, can't remember why, and I like that, too. Sometimes it's nice to change up the smells, and Tide always smells wonderful.

Gain. The original scent. I love that smell. I even buy the Gain Fireworks and tuck them in a little mesh pouch in my dresser. I was over the moon excited when I found Febreze with Gain and Swiffer wet jet pads with Gain. If they made a candle I would burn it, too. I love that smell

Powdered Tide with bleach on everything. I've tried all kinds of stuff and I just keep coming back to it. I also sort really well.

I also like the Persil 2-in-1. I like the way it smells and it seems to get my clothes clean without fading. I used to only find it at WM but now I'm seeing it at Kroger and CVS.
I still buy Gain if I have a good coupon but it seems like the Persil is winning me over

Arm and Hammer with Oxyclean! I do not like the smell of Tide. Maybe it's something with our hard water, but it smells sour to me.

I use Ecos that I purchase at Costco. It allegedly has a magnolia and lily scent.

All Free and Clear concentrated liquid in my top load he washer. Does a good job. I like some scent in my laundry products but Dh is all about deer hunting for the next 6 weeks or so and wants fragrance free.

Seventh Generation, rinse with vinegar. I use Oxyclean for tough stains.

For something that just makes everything smell clean and fresh and is good for skin allergies we use Nellies All Natural Laundry SodaI've converted most of my coworkers and friends. I always pull out the clothes and smell them - no fragrance, just good clean smell.

I always used Tide HE original liquid....until about a year ago when they changed the scent and didn't advertise it! When I went online to contact them I found MANY people complaining about the scent change. Tide told me they put the former 'original' scent in to Mountain Spring which oh yeah does not come in HE. So I switched to Method 4x. I get the ginger something scent and its so nice! Clothes smell fresh and clean, but very lightly

I am a Tide loyalist. I adore the pods. I hope they never go away.

I use Tide liquid, also. I used to use the powder, but it clumps up when it's humid and I find that annoying. Also, to me, good smelling clothes typically come from a scented fabric softener, and not from the detergent you're using.

I use Purex liquid. I find, with scented detergents, that I only notice the scent on clothing and sheets/towels the first few times I use it (like if I switch from one scent to another), and then after that I no longer notice the scent. I know that's normal, but when I'm using something that smells really nice I wish I could always detect the scent! Good point!

I'm not that particular but DD likes Gain and complains whenever I get something else. She recently bought her own personal bottle, she's that picky, lol.
As for weird looks from other shoppers, I don't think so. How else are you supposed to know if you like the scent or not? I always unscrew the cap and smell it before deciding which to buy. I do that with everything scented, who doesn't?

First, my kids sometimes exchange outfits with their friends and they always comment on how good their friends clothes smell. Yet I would probably get some looks from shoppers if I start taking off the tops of detergent bottles in Target to smell the detergent! FYI, I'm the weirdo at Target that takes the tops off of detergent (and shampoo, body wash, and soap) to sniff them before buying. As for detergent scents, I buy All Free and Clear so no scents for me!

I always smell the detergent before I buy it, I never considered it to be weird. It doesn't have a foil or plastic seal over it so it's fair game.
I prefer Gain.

I can't use anything with a strong smell-it triggers migraines. I used to use Tide Free and Clear, but then my sister told me about this detergent-Charlie's Soap Laundry Powder. I order it from Amazon. It says it cleans all the way through to the fiber leaving nothing but the good old-fashioned sweet smell of clean. If you want flowers, go pick some. Charlie's Soap Laundry Detergent rinses residue free, which is great for folks of all ages with allergies or sensitive skin.
I love this stuff and will never go back to the other detergents. My son is a young adult male and his laundry is sometimes stinky-this stuff gets all of the smells out. It truly is amazing. I don't even have to use softeners (those sheets) in the dryer anymore because of this detergent.

I use All Free & Clear. Due to skin problems we avoid fragrances like the devil. This is me as well.

I use Wisk as it seems to do really good at getting ds 17s farm stuff clean. Also really like ALL
and I use the sprinkle into the wash smell good things, I was using the Gain fireworks ones but now have Purex and really like them too. I don't use any dryer sheets as we don't seem to have a static issue, haven't used them in years and static was the only reason I used them(and even then I cut the sheets into 1/3s to save money
