We always grill out-steaks/chicken, baked potatoes and a salad. Whatever dessert that people want to bring, but there will always be sugar cookies if nothing else.
We go simple for the day. No one wants to spend the day cooking and cleaning.

It is just the two of us (our families are extinct), no company on Christmas Day since we do not want a repeat of the fiasco last year, so;
Deviled Eggs Chopped Chicken liver w/matzoh
Prime rib Horseradish sauce Potatoe pancakes Some configuration of green beans Sweet corn pudding
Dessert Key lime cake Raisin pie Chocolate Chess Pie (So many desserts - for company the following day)
So excited, can't wait!

I'm toying with the idea of having a big brunch and skipping Christmas dinner altogether. I guess I should make a decision soon. Lol! I've done this before and it was great. We went out for Chinese that night but at home I made eggs Benedict, bacon, cinnamon rolls, fruit salad and asparagus with the leftover hollandaise from the Benedicts. It was awesome. Now I'm thinking I might do that again this year ... I think you've talked me into it. Most of what I have in mind can be made ahead of time, too.

I am so looking forward to the fact that I'm not hosting and therefore, I'm not cooking this year. I will eat whatever is served to me. And we will be alone on Christmas Day so we are considering skipping dinner altogether and just eating popcorn at the movies.

We are going to my parents' for Christmas dinner, which will feature duck confit.
We are having Christmas Eve dinner at my house, for which I am making braised short ribs and mashed potatoes for sure. I haven't figured out the veggies and dessert yet.

DH is smoking a brisket. Also making potato salad, mac n cheese, baked beans, and a few pies. Something different. It will probably be rushed though. I work that evening

As a non-meat eater, I have salad and maybe some of the sides that are served with the main dinner. The rest of the family has homemade pork filled tortellini cooked in chicken soup, followed by roast beef or turkey with sides.

We are doing Christmas dinner with DH's family tomorrow. DH is smoking a pork tenderloin over night. The sides are:
Mashed potatoes and gravy Mac and Cheese candied carrots rolls and whatever else I come up with.
For Christmas dinner with my family on Christmas Eve we are having Lasagna, a wonderful wine salad that my mom makes and Garlic bread that my brother can make to perfection. This is our traditional Christmas dinner every year. Christmas day, nothing! What ever we can scrounge up.

We have reservations Where? We are either going to Smith & Wollensky's or Kiran's. We did Etoile for Thanksgiving, and it was really nice not having to cook, but I do miss the leftovers

Our meal will be very small. Family decided on ham. So I'll have probably potatoes of some kind, a vegetable, rolls, cranberry apple bake, and mince pie. What is cranberry apple bake? I have dozens of apples left from my tree and I need to find new ways to use them. Recipe?

We have as close to a traditional British meal as I can manage. Turkey ,pigs in blankets, roast and mashed potatoes, sprouts, carrots and roast parsnips with gravy. Then Christmas pudding with cream or custard. Breakfast will be full English and bucks fizz, so we'll eat dinner about 4 and maybe a sandwich for tea about 10 pm if we 'need ' it! The locals do either fish or whole baby suckling pig. Will you share your recipe for this please?

Seafood by the pool. Barbecued calamari and prawns, lobster, ham and turkey for the traditionalists, salads, pavlova and Christmas pudding. Plus lots of champagne. It will probably be 90 degrees plus here. This sounds divine. Our high is 40 today.
