We do Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve. Keeping it simple this year - Atlantic lobster and salad. Then Christmas Day we have a family brunch.

It is just the two of us (our families are extinct), no company on Christmas Day since we do not want a repeat of the fiasco last year, so; Deviled Eggs Chopped Chicken liver w/matzoh Prime rib Horseradish sauce Potatoe pancakes Some configuration of green beans Sweet corn pudding Dessert Key lime cake Raisin pie Chocolate Chess Pie (So many desserts - for company the following day) Now, you know I'm dying to know what happened! Your meal sounds fantastic! Well, it was about how I accidentally invited a co-worker/friend and his wife to Christmas Day dinner. He asked me to make sure I don't ask her age, take any photos, provide only specific food and make sure we had a gift for her. They were over two hours late and the wife was not very rooted in reality. I shared the adventure live as it happened with the peas and it turned into a multi-page thread.

Just 4 of us so I'm doing a chicken recipe that Dh likes which is chicken breasts in a cream sauce with almonds with rice, carrots, and asparagus (from a box). Coconut cream pie for dessert. We still have ham in food sealer bags in the freezer from last year.

Doing a bit of a switch up this year. I usually do a big dinner for Christmas Eve....but this year I have ordered a meat and cheese tray from the local deli, and with that we will have, rolls, potato salad, fruit salad, veg tray w/dip,cheese ball w/crackers, and Christmas cookies. Then a big brunch on Christmas Day.

For the last 10-11 years, we've done prime rib, mashed potatoes, corn, rolls, etc. And we did this mainly because it was dh and FIL's favorite meal. FIL passed away in Feb this year and so we're changing things up a bit. And for the first time in 12 or 13 years, I'm not cooking the majority of the meal. DH is going to make a big pot of spaghetti sauce on Tuesday and let it sit in the refrigerator until Christmas morning. So all I'll be making is the pasta, salad and dessert. I'll make the dessert (Tollhouse pie) on Thursday and probably prep the salad then too.

Ham Cheesy Potatoes Pineapple Casserole Green Bean Casserole (because DH didn't get to have it at Thanksgiving) Corn Pickles and olives Pecan Pie Sugar cookies Can I have your pineapple cassarole recipe? I had some in Nashville last year and it was divine. I figure if your recipe for it is good enough for Christmas dinner, it's good enough for me!

Probably fast food. I'm not sure what else will be open. We are flying to Florida on Christmas Day to meet my parents (who don't actually arrive until the 26th. I can't imagine what we'll be eating that night!

I'm so excited to say fast food with a side of gas station! We haven't had this low key of a holiday in years!!! Nobody is coming to our house! We aren't feeding anybody! We are traveling to a fun destination for FUN! And fun is rarely healthy and I'm super excited!!! Not a veggie in sight! Call CPS right now! To quote Clark Griswald, "Hallelujah! Holy shit! Where's the Tylenol?"

This is our first Christmas in a very long time that my parents will be away. I'm stepping totally away from tradition and making Peking Duck.

Hi!
Christmas brunch: German pancakes (Husband's family tradition), sausage, fruit, eggnog
Lunch: not really planning on lunch because we usually eat brunch about 10ish. I will have sandwich fixings for those who might want a snack.
Dinner: ham with raisin sauce, au gratin potatoes, dilly lime carrots, roasted broccoli and garlic, walnut cheese spinach salad, and Christmas jello (red, white and green layered jello in individual cups). Chocolate Yule log and ice cream for dessert.

We're having a spiral-cut ham (I'll make a glaze of some sort), Cajun roasted potatoes, corn scallop, glazed carrots, relish tray, rolls, and Chocolate Truffle Pie for dessert. Plus I think I'm going to make a meatless quiche of some kind as a special entrée for my older DS, who is a vegetarian. There are lots of other things to eat, but he likes when I make a special dish just for him.

DH is cooking a brisket on the egg. I am either making a baked potato salad or mashed potatoes and gravy. I haven't decided which. Roll, corn and salad and a chocolate cream pie. This is for Christmas Eve with FIL.
In the morning we will have monkey bread before heading to MIL to open presents and breakfast. When we come home we will just have left overs for dinner.
