Slightly scrapbook related, but I'm thinking I'll stick mostly with journaling... I've never done a one little word before, and 2016 is already shaping up to be a year of transitions (not quite sure what to!) and growth for me. I have a few possibilities - thrive, grow, explore - but none are jumping out at me as "the one". Maybe I'm expecting too much from a word ;-). What have you used in the past?

This is not a project I am doing, but in reading your post, I thought I might suggest "adapt" as your word, if you're expecting a lot of change. I think it works for minor day to day stuff as well as major changes.

Complete, fearless, wholehearted and attend are the ones that I recall. I'm considering accessorize for 2016. All of those words have brought me face to face with big challenges. I'd like something a little easier this year.

I've used Faith, & Believe & focus and they were all great to work with.
Energy was a flop.
My word next year is CALM.
I use a Pinterest board for my world, pictures, quotes, verses, scripture that fit the category.
I do Project life weekly and I try to incorporate the word in each week in some way.

What about new beginnings? I know it is two words but it sounds more hopeful. My word this year is hope. Previous years have been miracles, light, joy and this last year grace! I wait until something really inspires me. I have also used the words thrive and shine as I started choosing a second word on my birthday. But they go together.

Embrace is a good word esp if expecting transition and change. I have used the word, this. Word with photos. Some journaling. Little scrapping but some.

I guess I am a pervert, I was thinking this was like a "safe word." Maybe because I recently saw "Trainwreck." Then again I haven't really been scrapbooking much lately so I guess I missed this trend!

I have used:
Less Simplify Improve
I think I'll use "Improve" again.
I wrote and printed out a little note to have handy.
It had "Improve" at the top and then listed: Marriage Time With My Children Health Job Home Atmosphere Organization De-cluttering Finances
This doesn't mean I have to improve everything 100%. It just means that I should make an effort every day to make an improvement on one of my topics. It doesn't matter how small or large the improvement is. It just matters that improvement has been attempted!

I have used Jerseystrong, Enough, and last year was Forward. Forward worked well for me. This year I'm thinking of bellibone. Not such a little word, but it means a woman excelling in both beauty and goodness. Hopefully it will remind to be less of a bitch and more gracious.

I have used less, adventure, and this year will probably be write or words.
Less didn't work out so well, adventure was a good word I did a lot of out of my comfort zone things (new foods, new places, met new people), write/words will be more of a personal thing and won't involve dragging my kids and husband along.

I haven't done it before, but I signed up for the class this year. I'm currently thinking I'm going to go with BALANCE.

I don't do the 'one little word' thing as an organized activity; I don't do much scrapping so I don't think I'd ever make it through the class... but I really like the idea of picking / finding a word and making a Pinterest board for it-- a different (and do-able) way to incorporate a specific word into my daily life.

I haven't done the class or incorporated it into scrapbooking or anything like that but I've been choosing a word and quote for the year in lieu of resolutions.
2015 was Motivate 2014 was Simplify
I'm thinking about Serenity for next year but I'm not firm yet

I have never successfully stayed with scrapping my OLW. However, I've chosen a word for the last 5 years. It's a growth experience.
There was only one year that the word didn't resonate. I can't even remember what that one was. The best word was Simplify. It was my first word.

My word for 2016 is going to be 'Records'. As in I will do better at keeping records of important things.

I've never taken the class or scrapped about it, but 2016 will be my 10th year of doing OLW. My words have been: success, potential, yes, extraordinary, babysteps, relationship, thrive, dreams, creativity. I am still thinking about my word for 2016.

I've been thinking about it the last few days-- I have a number of things going on, both creatively and health-wise, that I really want to stick to and turn into a regular way of life, so I think a good word for me to focus on is 'persevere.' Not 'achieve' or 'complete' because both things mean something comes to an end. The things I'm working on are things I want to always CONTINUE to do, not ever stop... so persevere fits better.
eta: but the problem is, how do you show something like that visually?? Like, if I wanted to start a Pinterest board for inspiration, I mean.

Like, if I wanted to start a Pinterest board for inspiration, I mean. Actually, I bet there are tons of persevere quotes on Pinterest. I would add pins that relate to the things you're continuing to work on.
I've used joy, worship, surrender, focus, and daily. Not sure what 2016 will be. Possibly ADAPT, but that doesn't really resonate with me. But I'm expecting a lot of unanticipated changes this year, and I'd like to do more than just survive. Maybe REAL for 2016? I still have a few days.
And for me, it was never about scrapbooking it (that's just setting myself up for failure!), it's more about a reminder to focus. Not to let time pass by without me noticing, and purposefully becoming a better version of myself. It started with joy, because I **needed** it. I was dealing with some situations completely beyond my control- over several years- and I'd completely lost so much of myself. I need joy like air. When I lose my joy in life, I lose me. It was pretty bad. So that year was my very first year. My goal was to find, embrace, and scatter joy. That first year was such an incredible transformation! Since then I've just been building on that.

I've never done OLW, but I've been thinking about it. I've been thinking about the word Enough. As in, enough crap, already and make some positive changes. Enough as in to remind me of all my blessings--my heart is full and content because I have enough. Enough as in I am good enough to meet some goals I have set for myself professionally this next year, etc. I like the concept of the word, but it's kind of clunky-looking, so I might play around with some synonyms.
