Over 1 million items! Somebody had an eBay addiction!!! Well, it looks like maybe the owner is trying to get their stuff back: IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE AUCTION DATES Lot # 1 Due to circumstances beyond AAA Public Auctions Control The Rubber Stamp Auction Is On Hold. At 4:50pm Friday January 29, 2016 AAA Public Auction received a court order stating that the auction must be placed on hold Until February 11, 2016 I will update the status as soon as I know more.AAA Auction does not wish to hold anyone liable for bids placed since the date has been changed. Once we get the approval and a date from the court for us to hold the auction for certain we will have to just start over. Bobby Beacham AAA Public Auction LINK

That's just really sad. You have to wonder what kind of hole someone was trying to fill.

Damn.
ETA after actually looking at some of the photos it does make me sad.
When you see (up close) that it is a "home" and not a warehouse...

Wow. I'd love to open up all that mail though. I know it's weird, but I love getting and opening mail. I wouldn't want it after it's opened, it's the opening that I think is fun.

Over 2000 UNOPENED packages?!?!? Along with all the stuff that was opened?
That's unbelievable. I would love to know the story behind this one.

That's crazy...and I agree, sad too. Makes me wonder what happened to the lady, did she die or can't pay the storage fees any longer?
I can't see the point of selling it all in one lot though. Even at $1 each, someone still needs a$1M. Surely it would have been more profitable to bundle it up into smaller lots.

If you click on the links, much of it is listed in lots that you can bid on online until the 30th.

I was looking at them, I wonder how long this person has been buying stamps. I would love to know the story.

You have to wonder about some of those eBay sellers too, surely if you have one customer that is constantly buying huge amounts it must ring some alarm bells...I don't know what I'd do exactly, but I'd like to think I wouldn't just keep selling and selling to one person and not try to help in some way.
I bet some of those sellers will end up buying their stock back.

I posted this on GS and there are lots of duplicates. She had 3 Stampin Up! sets of chalks in one photo. Two is a mistake, 3 in the same package? That's well obsession? I don't know. She must have some serious issues and uses shopping to self-soothe.
I am guilty, too, but not this bad. I hope she is able to get help.

We stopped at an estate in sac. It was a collectible sale. The woman spent a couple of million on hallmark and all the rest. The sale made it on the news, daughter was crying, because they would only recoup a few thousand.
There was a house here that they had 5 sales at. The children went to counseling before they started the sale. I think they used the money to go on a vacation.

Ugh - had to stop looking! I was only about 5 pages in.
Soooo many cute House Mouse stamps! But it looks like someone else has their eye on them... And I don't need a "haul" of my own.

Do you remember the photos of some of the scrap rooms where the women had peg boards full of product. I wonder if they still buy?

I've been seeing this in my craft groups on fb and I thought it had to be a business type thing but nope it was a personal collection of just one person.

I just keep thinking how pissed my DH would be after being $900+ spent on one eBay stamp store. LOL

I bet some of those sellers will end up buying their stock back. I would have simply assumed that the person was running some sort of business. I don't think i ever would have guessed that that amount of product was being kept in a personal collection at home. It's such a mind-boggling amount. I think I would have figured they were reselling them or hosting classes or something like that.

I would have simply assumed that the person was running some sort of business But surely if they had a real business, they would be able to buy the stamps themselves direct from the company for less than an eBay reseller (who is already making a profit). I'd be wondering why they were buying from me and not direct from the stamp makers. Like I said, I don't really know what I'd do (maybe send and email and say my curiosity got the better of me and I was wondering what she did with all the stamps..??). I know if I had the same "Mrs Jane Smith" buying hundreds of dollars of stamps every week or so, it would ring some alarm bells, especially as there has been so much information about hoarding everywhere over the last few years.

She must have some serious issues and uses shopping to self-soothe. Without speculating on why there are so many stamps..... I have to confess that having the duplicates together seems pretty dumb to me. People would pay more to have one set than get multiples they would then have to get rid of. I was a little twitchy seeing a ton of stuff dumped into boxes until I saw that there are extra pictures including with the different boxes so you can see what's in them.
