I am beyond excited that the X-Files comes back tonight. I'm old enough to have been glued to the set for the original series, when it was so different and novel compared to everything else on television.
Since an X-Files thread hadn't been started yet, I felt that someone had to do it! Mulder and Scully are my favorite dynamic duo ever.
Spoilers are allowed, so if you don't want to know, don't read!

I need to go back and read a recap of where things left off before I watch tonight's episode.

Fox, following the football game. Thankfully (and I never say this about football) there is no chance this will go to overtime.

I've read in a couple of articles that it doesn't take off until the 3rd episode. But I'm excited--I watched every episode back in the day. Looking forward to seeing Mulder and Scully in action again.

ALso, I've always thought the little 6-note tune theme song fits the lyrics "We're In The F B I" !!

Cigarette Smoking Man, smoking through a tracheotomy plug - priceless!
Good beginning, and I can't wait until tomorrow night.
Will we ever get to see Mulder and Scully's child?

I will stick with it but right now I feel like someone ate the special cupcake I'd been hiding in the back of the refrigerator.

I'm just chiming in to bitch about how disappointed I am that it came on at 7:00 here. I lost track of which day it was supposed to come on and by the time I realized it was today it was already 7:30. Who puts the X-Files on at 7??? It used to always be on at 9.
I hope I can find the episode On Demand.
/rant over

I loved it. Loved seeing the old case photos in the opening they showed two of my favorite cases. Tombs and the sewar parasite. I have to admit, the episodes I love of the old XFiles are not the alien related cases. It was the weird oddity cases in between. The only bit I was kinda meh about was when they were at Mulders house and Tad went off on all the government being the "aliens" to fool the public and all that propaganda stuff. It kinda debunked the premise of the original series.

I loved it but I am ticked that the beginning was delayed 20 minutes here. My recording was missing the last 15 minutes or so. I'm assuming I can catch up tomorrow On Demand.
(My son pulled up some pirated version to finish watching, but I just listened.)

I liked it. The UFO stuff was never my favorite but you kind of have to have some of that to be The X-Files. I thought they did a pretty good job, I'm looking forward to the rest.

It felt like a parody of itself. I need to go back and watch some old episodes. I'm not entirely sure I watched the last seasons.

I had stopped watching it faithfully during it's run when the focus stopped being a weekly "x-file" and more about their personal relationship, conspiracy, and aliens, aliens, and aliens.

The scary thing about the show?
My husband works with a guy who believes in the FEMA prison camps, that banking/paper money will be eliminated, people who have registered their weapons will be the first ones to be arrested. And that we are under surveillance 24 hours a day. Yup they are out there!
