Journaling Genie Coluzzle My absolute biggest dislike (and glad is gone) is the hammering of eyelets and grommets!! Still use my straight line Journaling Genie. I have nice print, but can't write straight to save my soul. And while I no longer hammer (thank you Crop-a-dile), I still use my eyelets! Still have my walnut ink, but don't use it (as well as my other distress inks, mists & alcohol inks) nearly as much as I should. Hmmmm . . . what started out as a trip down memory lane is a turning out to be a kick in the butt for me! I'm not a trendy scrapper and still like so many of my older supplies (yes, I will put a Mambi stick figure kid on a page if it goes w/the layout!) but don't use them nearly enough. I need to get to it! And I completely agree - I really, really miss the excitement that used to surround this hobby. From visits to scrapbook stores (Memories in CT springs to mind) to the arrival of the latest issue of Simple Scrapbooks in my mailbox, there were so many things to look forward to. I still love it as much as ever, but the zing just isn't as strong, kwim?

An Aussie company (I think), Around the Block, brought out coloured, continuous design rub-ons in those tape runner plastic things. I bought them all but the tape runner mechanisms were disastrous. Shimelle's new line has similar items! Hopefully they work.

I pulled out my very first album just yesterday. Some of it was hilarious. But I still loved looking at it! Brought back a lot of good memories surrounded by the yucky art. Haha

I made some awesome Halloween "cards" out of Altoid tins. I still use paint chips. Just out one in my PL as a backer to a smaller photo.

I also remember a big ribbon buying stage. Over and over again I reasoned that it was only a dollar on sale. Now that I look at my ridiculous ribbon stash that I never use I want all those dollars back.

Omg...so many SB memories that did not even cross my head when I posted last night.
Remember those eyelet setters that were kind of spring-loaded and really loud? Some people used to set eyelets on a pillow to tone down the sound when they were scrapping at night.

I have a Silent Setter to set eyelets. It was on sale for $5 when I bought it at least a decade ago, and still works like a charm.

I remember paper piecings. I made a beautiful Cinderella piecing that is in my first scrapbook from 2001.

Those clear bubble-like stickers that eventually yellowed. I also remember some kind of mesh product that I could never figure out what to do with. I think it came on a roll. And getting my CK magazine in the mail. I still have that mesh in about a dozen colors. I use it on a rare occasion.

What a fun thread! I remember many of these. I still have a clear acrylic mini-album that I never got around to making...someday...lol.
Two things to add: Quilling And one I was just thinking about the other day with the Minc being so popular, does anyone remember when Making Memories had those foil & flocking kits? You would rub a tacky shape onto your paper and then put a sheet of flock or foil on top and then rub it down with a popsicle stick. I still have a partial Halloween one in my stash.

Those sticky designs are coming back too! I wish I could remember which Manu showed them at CHA. I have old 7gypsies ones in my stash, still tacky (and maybe tacky...)

I remember when there was a lot of energy and anticipation surrounding the release of a new Quickutz die set or alphabet die set. People would be frantic trying to guess what it would be exactly. And then buying them until they were sold out. I miss that kind of energy about scrapbooking. Me, too! Loved those Quickutz release days. My source was in FL, they posted midnight their time, which is 9pm my time.

All the Quickutz releases made me remember how all of us Cricut girls would get excited over the new announcements of Cricut cartridge releases.
I remember the tearing rulers and the Folk Art look on scrapbook pages.
I still do paper piecing. I will always love my Coluzzle.
I never cut my photos in shapes.

Decorated mini lunch box albums, big flowers, and walnut ink are still things I love. I wish I could find more of the lunchboxes!
I still have many small shaped punches. I need to use them more, I just can't purge them!
I remember receiving the Keeping Memories Alive catalog in the mail. Each piece of pattern paper shown individually. All the die cut titles and matchig die cuts ! Back in the day when it was $200 for one quickutz alphabet. I started scrapping in 1995 and I remember the first scrapbook store I went to only had 8.5x11 paper. Giant themed diecuts, lots of stickers, and that was the first place I saw Creating Keepsakes magazine.

I have a collection of clear acrylic mini albums that I never used and still can't get rid of for some unknown reason & also the foil/flocking MM kits...which I actually still love & should use!

I remember all the scrapbook stores, loved having a lot of choices.
Our best one had a wall of sticker rolls you could tear off the number of stickers you wanted.
Deco edge scissors. I actually used them to cut photos back the late 90s, early 00s (to me that's worse than photo shapes, which I still occasionally will do). I've since gone digital, and am converting all my old pages to digital, so I've been happy when I could find the original photo to replace the scissor cut ones. Some I haven't had the original any longer, so it's been a clean up job.

A few years ago I was at a crop that had a swap table. Picked up that tag maker. Tried it once and it didn't work, so it's gone into a box. I really should pull it out, give it one last go and then pitch it if it doesn't work. Thanx for reminding me I had it, lol.

I loved rolls of Mrs Grossmans stickers when I was a kid & ended up with about a dozen full rolls of my favorite designs a few years back, when a scrapbook store closed. They bring back my childhood & I love having them to look at on a shelf in my studio!

Making Memories foam stamps with paint (loved the Philadelphia font) I *still* love the Philadelphia font! And -- Heidi had a Facebook post just the other day commenting on foam stamps and creating something -- so don't throw them out!
