This is spinoff is inspired by LavenderLayoutLady 's thread: Tell me something new about scrapbooking. It made me think of remember when?Remember when: - decorated mini lunch box albums
- clear acrylic albums
- coin holders.
were the rage with many? The coinholders were one of the things that led me to Two Peas. They had some good stuff in their gallery, except I never got around to making one. I did make an acrylic album, and a mini lunch box. What do you remember?

Sadly I remember cutting photos into shapes, yikes! I also remember all the 7gypsies photo carousels. I have one, but they are just kind of odd, really hard to see all the work that went into it!

What were the coin holders? I picture either those paper tubes you put coins in to take to the bank, or the collector books with slots in them for coins. I don't think you are talking about either of those. LOL!

Confession: I bought a 7Gypsies photo carousel and a bunch of the dividers for it on clearance just before Christmas. I have plans for it! A couple of the other 7Gyp OTP hardware items are coming back into style now- the folders and flip frame (last year) the clipboards and the multi tiered stand with rings and clips.
I still have memory frames in my stash- the ones with pre cut glass and metal tape on a roll to wrap around the edges.

Those clear bubble-like stickers that eventually yellowed. I also remember some kind of mesh product that I could never figure out what to do with. I think it came on a roll. And getting my CK magazine in the mail.

And getting my CK magazine in the mail. Lord, those epoxy stickers sure did bite us in the butt, didn't they? And I think you're talking about Magic Mesh, which I still have & use, lol. And while I don't cut my photos into shapes (or silhouette them, for that matter) I do still tear & distress (if by distress you mean using that Tim Holtz distressing tool thingie).

I threw a decorated paint tin out just after the new year. Oh I remember all the threads with places to go to buy those empty tins.

were the rage with many? I remember all of those! And I did none of those. I barely am able to do my regular scrapbooking, and I never thought I'd be able to make one of those look nice enough. Remember those! I also remember some kind of mesh product that I could never figure out what to do with. Magic Mesh! Haha. I never actually bought it, but I did take some of my drywall joint tape, color it with ink, and use it. This is a great thread! I remember when there was a lot of energy and anticipation surrounding the release of a new Quickutz die set or alphabet die set. People would be frantic trying to guess what it would be exactly. And then buying them until they were sold out. I miss that kind of energy about scrapbooking.

I miss that kind of energy about scrapbooking. Yes - this...I've never been one to jump on the trends - I'm a simple, linear scrapbook-er - but I miss the energy and excitement

Oh, yes, the Coluzzle. I never could make it work. I gave it to a friend.
I had a mini iron, shaped more like a curling iron. It came with shiny ribbon that you would iron on the page. I saw it demo'd at a scrapbook convention and had to have it.

I remember all those things OP & loved when they were all the rage! I had an altered lunchbox/scrapbook published in a mag back in the day. In fact, I still have a Rubbermaid container of those white lunchboxes in bulk in our basement, that I never used for anything.

I kept the iron, no idea why.

Ah yes, so many fond memories! Last year when I started unpacking all of my stuff that had been boxed up forever, it was taking a walk down Scrapbooking Memory Lane with all of the ancient treasures I unearthed. Ha ha, it reminded me of the end of Survivor when the last four of the tribe go along remembering all of the people who got voted out along the way! Man, there have been a LOT of scrapping companies that have been "voted off the island" over the years!
