Tonight will be turkey panini night. It'll be a simple dinner, but everyone enjoys it.
What's on your menu?
Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone.

I am making homemade chicken nuggets. Stuffing because the girl likes it. Some sort of veggie. Not sure if I will do a potato with it.

Last night dh made a pot of spilt pea soup, so that's what's for dinner. I'll stop on my way home from work and pick up a crusty bread to go with it.

We are having homemade beer batter fish and chips with peas and there's some fresh bread if anyone wants any. Leftover chocolate cake will be dessert.

We're all going over to visit MIL, who is ill but living on her own ... long story I'm making some spaghetti sauce here and bringing it in the pot to her house and then cooking up the spaghetti noodles when we get there ... She is on some new medication that has really increased her appetite ... she used to eat like a bird ... I'll be sure to bring a lot of sauce

We're having panko crusted salmon with garlic butter brussel sprouts and maybe some roasted sweet potatoes.
For dessert we're having Bob's Cake in honor of my dad. When my parents first married, their best friends had them over for dinner. This particular cake was served, and my dad liked it so much the lady named it for him. After his funeral, she gave me the recipe because she wanted Bob's Cake to live on in our family. Wasn't that sweet of her?

If you're Facebook friends with me, you may have read last night's news already: I accidentally made the chicken fried rice with Worcestershire sauce instead of soy sauce. =sigh=
No clue about tonight. The 6yo stayed home from school with a tummy bug. I guess chicken soup or something else that will go down easy.

I am trying out a new recipe for chicken tacos. I have to double check but I think it's just chicken, salsa verde, and cream cheese. You put it all in the crockpot and cook I think for 4 hours.
I will serve it with tortillas and some kind of cabbage type slaw.
scrapmaven do you have a pannini maker?
@nicksmom that is a real neat story about Bob's Cake. A sweet tribute to your dad.
lucyg that's funny about your rice mix up! I can see that happening, the bottles look similar. How was it? Gross?

DH will have a steak and baked potato, I'm having a spinach and shrimp salad. I really need to get rid of these extra 8lbs I put on over the winter so a lot of salads are going to be on my plate for awhile.

DD chose the menu: French Onion Noodle Casserole, roasted green beans, cauliflower, and shallots, steamed carrots, blueberries and pineapple tidbits, and Italian bread. scrapmaven , I hope you're feeling better and no one else in your family has gotten the flu. @nicksmom , what a great story about Bob's Cake! The Birdhouse Lady , the answer to your question to lucyg about her fried rice is in her post. Didn't you catch the part where the 6yo stayed home because of a tummy issues.

We are doing some cleaning and straightening around here tonight, so I picked up an easy meal--pulled pork BBQ and coleslaw and potato salad.

We're having Kentucky Hot Browns. I'm finally getting to my frozen turkey slices. I think either peas or broccoli for the side.

Sounds good and also something my DS would like so I've bookmarked the recipe. Something else I learned here!

A really bad one could be described as Welsh rarebit sauce poured over turkey on toast, but a good sauce is not that cheddar tasting. I usually even the cheese out with Parmesan and Gruyere in addition to cheddar.

I am on my own for dinner so I am having some leftover Pumpkin chipolte chicken soup. I am not sure how to link, but I got the recipe from Edie Wadsworth and if you google her name + pumpkin chipotle you should be in luck. If not, I'd be happy to copy and paste it!
