Several Peas would like to challenge themselves to scrap away the month of May. They have expressed an interest in seeing some prompts and challenges that will help them do this. I volunteered to get the ball rolling by setting up this thread today so that people who like to set up kits early can begin their plans.
Before you post in this thread, please review the following:
- One pea can post as many challenges &/or as many prompts as they want. The more the merrier!
- Please put one challenge or prompt per post. (Of course a list of items or colors to use, or a tic tack toe challenge count as one challenge each: no need to make this more complicated than it needs to be!) If you grab a challenge or prompt from another challenge site, give us the link, but to make it easy for people playing along, please choose ONE of the challenges from that site and explain what it is in your post. If you want to choose another challenge from that site, just make another post.
- If possible, include a sample with your challenge or prompt. If you don't have one when you post it, that's fine, but maybe come back and edit when you do have one. Samples always help me to figure out what is possible when meeting a challenge.
- Please do NOT comment on the challenges in this thread. We will set up a different thread for that. That way, when someone comes here to see the prompts, that is all they will see here: no need for sifting through a few pages to find what they are looking for.
- Please do NOT post your response to challenges in this thread. You will get a chance to do that each day in May when there will be a daily thread asking for responses to these challenged.
I will start with a couple of challenges to get us started. I may be back with more later.

Challenge #1: Punch it up! I really loved the page I saw on the Simple Stories blog this morning, using punched circles folded in at the sides. I have often pinned pages like this, but never created one. The challenge is to use a punch to put multiple pieces on your page, AND to DO something with those punched pieces to make them special. Here is the sample in the April 21st Simple Stories Blog post

Prompt #1: Use a conversation of some kind on your page. That could be a screen shot of a text exchange
Easter cake page by Gramma Dee, on Flickr
or a quote of a remembered dialog. skating time by Gramma Dee, on Flickr
Both samples are from some pages I did for Calvinball last month.

Are you missing from your books? No layouts about you? Time to fix that right now! Create a layout about you (no one else - you, your thoughts, your feelings, your experiences)

Nothing is more fun than scrapping events when they are still fresh in your mind. For this Challenge scrap pictures that are less than 1 month old. That means that the event or date the photos were taken was in April or May 2016

I love this challenge! It's a journaling challenge to use lyrics from a song from your child or teen years. Here is a link. There's a cute example on the site.

Let's use something old... an old tool that has been sitting around collecting dust (I have a red sizzex) old embellies, can anyone say eyelets? or chipboard? (at least for me)... maybe paper you have had sitting around since the beginning...(in the beginning I bought a bunch of the nondescript packs on ebay)

Loving the challenges that are beginning to pile in here! Here is another one from me:
Everyday you: take a photo of any day-to-day reality or activity each day in May. It might be your computer screen or your coffee cup, the laundry room, or the commute to work. You can choose inanimate object, SO, kids, strangers on the street, pets, yourself. Anything from your spring pedicure to your dirty nails from working in the garden. From your garden retreat to the shoes piled up inside your porch door...
That is part one of the challenge. The second is to print your pics, and put them in a photo album or in some PL page protectors.
Part 3 is to choose at least two themes you see in your photos, and create a page--any size--that uses the photo(s) representing this theme.

Vacations and trips can be hard to get documented before we forget all the fun details. Scrap a page from a vacation including journaling.

Tell a funny or interesting story about your early years. (with or without a photo) This is an old layout as an example. Obviously I don't know how to add a link to another site. Sorry. Someone tell me how to delete these.

Make something for--or about--MOM. The Creative Scrapbooker has a blog post with ideas for a framed page and a card. Today I found a cute gift idea on the WRMK blog--I think--but can't find it now. Anyway, this challenge is to make a Mothers Day card, a gift for your Mom--or any mom, or create a page about yourself as a mom or someone else as a mom.

Let's get RIDICULOUS! If you posted in the I have a ridiculous amount of____ thread, the challenge is to start using up some of that STUFF!!! Use it on pages, cards, projects, gifts. Get ridiculous. Use as much as you can. If you have not already posted there, it is not too late. Go there. Admit to your hoarding addiction. Then get busy and use up some of that stash! When you share your creation(s), let us know what you were hoarding and what you used in this creation.

One more: Scrap Your Craft! Let's see some photos of something you have created, and maybe a page of YOU creating whatever it is! Let's get a look at you creating in your scraproom or you at a crop or art class. And let's see a page with the photo(s) and the story. (This one is for US, justjac , so we don't forget to take photos of our weekend adventure!)

I'll delete this if you don't think this fits. Think outside the box and use your scrap supplies for other purposes like cookbooks, rolodex albums, altered items. Some of these could still be scrapbooking related depending on how you choose to make them. ETA: I do not get why these pinterest boards keep double posting when I use 1 link! Some saved ideas

If you're like me, the everyday gets documented to death. But those events and holidays, well, they just seem to pile up in the background. Create something for those special events and holidays!

I'm a foodie, so for this one, let's create something to do with food. Interpret how you will. A recipe card or page, scrapbook a recipe or just about food itself.

Scrap your morning routine or something about how you start your day or end it.
I love this time of year when it is a bit warmer in the morning and I can enjoy a few quiet minutes on the patio with my cup of coffee before the day starts. It just seems my whole day is better after a few minutes relaxing. I may spend some time planning out my day to. I think I need to document this.
