I was 19 when I left but I moved to Az with my brother.
DH moved from CA to Michigan when he was 18 to go to college. He wanted to get as far away from his mom as he possibly could.

I was 25 and I come from an Asian Indian background. I'm surprised I lived there that long because I had a bad relationship with my mother and my Dad was out of the country.

My mother kicked me out at 17. We had always had a horrible relationship so I was excited to come home from school one day to my things sitting on the porch. I managed to couch surf until I finished my senior year of high school then left that two horse town for good.
I worked, married, divorced, and did the single mom thing for a few years before I could get my self into college.

I left home for college when I was 18, but I was still financially dependent on my mom. I became more independent over the next few years, but did not become fully independent until I graduated from law school at the age of 27.

I moved out when I was 23. Dh (fiance back then) needed to move out because his brother and daughter needed to move back home, I was going into my last quarter of college, amd we were both ready. Dh was 25. He had previously live off campus at his University.
I didn't see the need as my college was 20 min away and my parent didn't push me out. It allowed me to stufy and concentrate on school.
Most of my friends who stayed local for college also stayed home till graduation time.

You mean permanently?? HMMM...I went to college for 4 years (but was always home at vacations etc) then I lived at home until I was 24....(moved in at college graduation then lived at home and paid rent for about 15 months). I've never moved back in. My brothers were the same....although one brother got a job right after college graduation and got an apartment with some friends.

About a week after my 18th birthday. I did come back for when I was in between semesters of college or jobs, but, never for more than a few months at a time. I didn't marry until I was almost 30.

I went away to college when I was 18 but came home for summers and Christmas break. The last time I lived at my parents' home was Christmas break senior year, when I was 21.

18. I moved out two weeks before I graduated HS and never went back, nor did my parents pay for a single thing after I left their home. But, I also pressed assault charges against my father, so my situation was very different.
My younger brothers each left at 18, one for college and one for boot camp. Neither went back to live with our parents. One did live with me for a summer, and they lived together, with my SIL, for a bit after the younger one returned from Iraq.
My DH (1/2 Sicilian) is a July bday, and his mom waited to enroll him so that he was an older kid in his class rather than the youngest. He turned 19 a few days after graduation. He graduated in June and left for boot camp in October.

I went to college at 18, but don't consider myself to have moved out until I was 21 and got married. I lived in the dorm for 2 years, lived in an apartment off campus for a year, then moved home for a year. My parents moved out of their house about 4 months after I got msrrief, so I would have moved out anyway.

I moved out when I was 21. Went straight from my mom's house to getting married, so I have never lived on my own. Actually DH and I split up about 10 years ago for 3 months, we'd filed for divorce, so during that time it was just me and my kids. Reality set in while we were apart and we got back together and stopped the divorce papers. It was an awful, awful 3 months but we are so much better now than we were before then.

18. I went to live in the dorms in college, then and apartment, then a home with my husband.
my niece who is 22 lives at home while she goes to school. her parents insist on it so she can focus on school and not have to work to pay for an apartment. her boyfriend lives with his parents too. he goes to an expensive private college so that is where his money is going.

I was barely 18-as in I moved out the week after my birthday. I had to establish residency for my scholarship and so I had to stay in the state where my college was for a calendar year. I never moved back home, not even for vacations. The only time I went back home was for Thanksgiving/Christmas and some weekends. I worked two jobs, took out student loans and lived on ramen noodles/frozen veggies. It was the very best thing for me! My home life wasn't the best...
