Moved out for college at 18. Got married at 20. Bought first house at 22. Remodeled that house and moved in with In-laws for 6 months at 29. So happy to move back in to our remodeled house at 30. Lol

I had just turned 18 and rented a room from an elderly lady near a community college. I then attended classes.

I left for college and lived in dorms or apartments during the school year and at home for most summers. So officially, I didn't permanently move out until I finished my MA and moved to Philadelphia at 23. I moved back home five years later for about six months so that I could do my student teaching (kind of hard to pay for an apartment AND pay for student teaching without being able to work). That lasted one semester, at which point my fiancé and I got an apartment together. I still tell my parents that if they hadn't tried so hard to treat me like a high school kid when I moved back home, I never would have hooked up with my ex-husband to escape them.

I was a jr in high school, so about 17. I lived in an apartment and had 2 jobs while going to school. I really did miss those years of hanging out with my friends, but my situation was different. Both my parents had divorced and remarried spouses with their own kids. I just didn't fit in anywhere.

I was 21. I got married and moved into our first house. Best day of my life.
My daughter on the other hand lived with us until her mid thirties. But we all like each other and she was able to save enough money to buy a house in our neighborhood and pay cash for it. We still hang out together.

I enlisted in the Air Force when I was 18 and I left. I returned for about a year when my DH went overseas when I was about 25.

Luckily my mother sent me to first grade a year early. I left at 17 to go to business school. I had a "bedroom with kitchen privileges" as a place to live. Started to work at 19 and at 20 was able to rent an attic apartment. My father died when I was 8 and my mother went through a wedding ceremony with a horrible person. I could NOT have taken one more year living there.

I left home for college at 17. I never came home for more than a few weeks at a time. Since I was paying for my own education and my living expenses, I consider that the time I actually "left". I had a job that I started 2 weeks after graduation, so I moved out permanently as soon as I graduated. DS lived at home after college until we got married. His family had a shore house, so he had the house to himself all summer and most weekends. He would visit me almost every other weekend as well. So he was home for about a year and a half after college.

I was 22, and it was when my husband and I got married. I probably would have lived at home longer than that if we hadn't gotten married.

18. I was ready to run. I basically ran away from home and married the first boy (man) interested in me. My parents have always favored my younger sister from the moment she was born and I became their babysitter, 2nd mamma. I felt very unloved and like a maid. I had to go. This was the exact situation I went through! Except I didn't get married until the right guy came along. I definitely know how you felt freebird!

I moved out of my mother's home (parents divorced when I was really young and I never lived with dad after) when I was 19, however my mom had pretty much already moved out of the home to live with her now husband when I was 17 (a junior in high school) so I was virtually living on my own before then.
