Brought to you by the letter T :
I was over at the ACOT site today, looking at their challenges and samples, and really liked this challenge. Made me think about all the ribbon and twine and glitter tape and... at my disposal. My question to you is What trims do you love to use? Ribbon? Flowers? Twine? Stickers? Chipboard? Buttons? Flares? Enamel dots? What is your favorite way to finish off a perfect page? Do you have some you have collected but don't use as much as you would like?
Then I went through our own TYS challenges & prompts list and found a couple by mjmone and Scrapper100 to use something old &/or an older tool, so I pulled out a WRMK "Ribbon Sew" tool. I remember really NEEDING this, and ordering a couple, along with the ribbon, but have never taken them out of the package. I ended up using it to finish off a page I had started yesterday, threading the WRMK velvet ribbon along the border to look like leaves.

Today's challenge is to Use some ribbon or other trim on a page or card. The twist is to use something OLD to create that project.
Have fun!

What trims do you love to use? Enamel dots. Flowers. I like when I can work a few strips of washi in as a border. Especially a staggered border like this: ________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________ _____________________________________

I like flowers or brads. I have quite a few buttons but don't reach for them often

I have it all! I usually reach for enamel dots to finish up a page.
I'll have to pull out my WRMK tools, too!

When I think trim, I think borders and shelves. I think it's part of the overall page design. I would consider that border strips/stickers/rub-ons, ribbon, lace, washi, twine, buttons, etc. When I think finishing off a page I think of that little bit extra, (the trim and embellishments would already be there) so I'm thinking bling, pearls, enamel dots, buttons, or ink.

like lisadv I think of trim as borders...strips, lace, washi even.
I don't have a go-to.
but this challenge is making me think of pulling out a border punch and using it, as I have a collection that does not get used.

WhooHooo, linda you have been busy! LavenderLayoutLady and mjmone , since it seems to be Letter of the Day week, I think you will like the prompt for Wednesday ! I took advantage of having the house to myself this morning, and finished a couple of pages I had started last night. Actually they had been "started" weeks ago, when I cut the little Cricut guys to go on these pages. carnival 1 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr carnival 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr I wanted to show movement on these photo heavy pages, so decided to use some zva swirls. Took my photos, and the pages still looked pretty stodgy. So I grabbed my Wink of Stella silver pen and added the swirls on the black cs. There. Now I feel they are finished! And since I had a few minutes after that, and my new Carta Bella "Old World Travel" was near the top of the stack on my desk, I put together my LOAD journal page for the day. The prompt was What Excites ME, and I was having trouble with the prompt until I saw the paper. Travel is exciting. New scrappy supplies are exciting. Let's talk about both! Love travel by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Used my go-to for this one: torn edges, a bit of ink, handwriting, and stickers. Thought about adding some twine to "hang" the travel banners on, but then decided, No. It's done. Off to the green house. Enjoy the rest of the day!

Recently, enamel dots, buttons, shapes fussy-cut from patterned paper and put on pop dots, Project Life cards and other cut-aparts, and pre-made sticker embellishments. I actually used a border punch the other day too. Oh, and washi sometimes.
This is a good reminder to pull out my border stickers, while the adhesive is still good! (Can sticker adhesive go "off" over time?)
