I'll be going to the US this summer. Last summer Michaels and joanns had a very small selection of thickers. Where can I find the best selection at the best price? Thanks!

Hobby Lobby has some too - but not a whole lot. You could check Tuesday Morning but I haven't seen too much there lately. Online is really the best place...

I think Michaels, Joanns and Hobby Lobby each have a smaller collection of Thickers.
For a larger selection all in one place, I would think an actual brick & mortar scrapbooking store would be your best bet.
I guess it depends on where in the US you are going will determine the availability of scrapbooking stores.

there are no scrapbook stores left in the area. I thought maybe a craft store would be a good option but I guess not.

I found a few sets at Tuesday Morning this week. And, the LSS that I go to is my best option. What about placing an order right before you leave with a US scrapbooking site like A Cherry on Top or Scrapbook.com and having it shipped to wherever you are staying in the US?

If you are coming to Utah, hit the American Crafts Warehouse. They are $1 each unless it's the 20 for $10.00 sale day which occurs often.

Sorry, I didn't get back to this thread sooner. The Salt Lake City AC Warehouse is at 1274 East 3300 South in SLC.(old Big Lots bldg.) The one here in Orem is at 400 North on State Street. (Old KMart Bldg.)
I don't use thickers because I have SCAL and can cut my letters and I scrap 8.5x11 so often the Thickers are too big for me. So I can't tell you exactly which kinds or colors they have, but a friend from Texas came last year and went home with half a grocery cart full.

I use to read that everyone would get great Thickers at TJ Maxx. I am not much of a help. I make my own too. nylene- If I could get Thickers for a $1.00 I would be stocking up. That is an insane price.

I am so jealous of $1 thinkers! I wish I lived closer to any of the big warehouses!

I've had the best luck at Tuesday Morning stores lately for cheap Thickers. Although they are hit and miss, the last Tuesday MOrning I went to on Hilton Head island didn't have any. I have a friend at another beach now and she said she found great stuff at Tuesday Morning there. For more dependable collections though at full price, go to Michaels or Hobby Lobby.

Nylene, is the AC warehouse always open or just for annual sales?

Nylene, is the AC warehouse always open or just for annual sales? The warehouse was open from Nov. a year ago until Oct of last year. The one in Orem closed because the building was promised to a Halloween Sales Co. After Halloween it opened again and is still open. It now has hooks of stuff arranged on walls, etc. so it looks more like a permanent store than just a big warehouse. But it is a BIG warehouse. Remember that it is closed on Mondays and is open from 10 to 6 Tues through Sat. They have a special sale every day that will be right in front as you enter the door. I usually get an email telling what the sales are for that week. I think the days and hours are the same for the SLC warehouse, but I don't know that for sure. On sale days the 6x6 pads are $2.50 or 5 for $10. The big 12x12 pads are $6 rather than $8. Embellishments and Thickers are 20 for $10.00 and there are some tools that pop up on the sales occasionally too. If you are coming to the Orem area, message me and I'll let you know what the weekly sales are, or I think you can sign up on the AC Blog to receive emails each week.

winter, if you are serious and are coming to the Orem area, let me know first and I'll run down and check on the supply at the warehouse. Because I don't use Thickers I don't usually look through them.

I don't think I'd be able to make the trip until late in the summer, but I will definitely ask if I get the chance for a little road trip

Sadly the one in SLC is closed, but the Orem location looks like it has lots of product. I'm going tomorrow!

Depending on your timeframe, PeachyCheap often has a grab bag of them. Maybe you'll get lucky. Or if you have a US address to ship them to, you could start looking now and snag a set when they're up next. Down side is no choice on styles.

It's not full of shoppers, but there are always a handful there. I hope you find a lot of stuff you want. ETA: sorry it closed, not sorry you are coming. LOL

I went today and only spent $50. They have so much stuff it is truly overwhelming. I go two really cool clear organizers that each hold about 20 stamp pads for $5 each. I got $10 worth of thickers, I thought they had a nice assortment. I also got 12 invisible ink pens that my grandchildren love. And a couple of Pebbles chalks, some colorless alcohol blender pens, some embellishments that I'm going to glue on barrettes for granddaughters, and a pack of AC card stock, and a few other odds and ends. They said they'd be open until the Halloween Store takes over.

Thanks for that info. casswithsass, I was hoping they wouldn't close for Halloween. What I buy the most of is the packs of paper, 50 sheets for $2. I try to buy a variety of colors of small prints that can be layered in lots of layouts. I also use them for cards. I, too, buy the invisible pens all the time. My grands love them and I have given them to my school students. That makes me their HERO. LOL! Glad you found some of the things you can use.

I am such a spaz. I actually live in the Willamette Valley in Oregon, and that was one of our last stops on a 2,990 mile adventure. Our car was getting full and we picked up a three year old grandson as a bonus. I think that would be a great idea though, but not for me. It was so fun looking at everything and the prices are amazing. I can't wait for another excuse to go back to Utah.

I was in Utah last week for a family funeral, and was able to make a quick pass through the AC Warehouse in Orem. Got a bunch of good scrappy stuff, including a fuse tool, PL album and page protectors, 6x6 pads, pens, and thickers. Didn't even look at the holiday section due to lack of time. Will definitely go back next time we are in Utah!
Thanks to the refupea who mentioned the warehouse a while back, Nylene, I think it might have been you. I also wanted to check out the KMA outlet in Spanish Fork, but maybe next time.

Hi, I'm Mary Bartolotta and I live in the US. I might be able to help you....I am going out of town and wouldn't be able to ship them out until after the 11th of June, but I have LOTS of thickers that I'd be happy to sell. If you'd like to send me your email address, I can send you a photo of everything I have...they are brand new packages, never opened... just put "thickers" in the email subject line so I know it's from you. I would just need your address/zip code so I could figure out shipping..
have a nice week, Mary
