Was wondering what you do craftwise for other people? Do you make cards? Gifts? Albums or minibooks as gifts? Do you do altered items or canvases for others?
I try to make all of our cards. Pretty successful with birthdays and anniversaries. I try to make each card personal in some way. Have trouble with the sympathy cards. Don't make them in advance and don't feel like creating when I need them the most. And I turn out a lot of Christmas cards come November.
Each of the grandkids was welcomed with a baby album I premade for the mom to put in photos and journaling. I have scrapped several canvases as gifts, and have done some altered frames for photos.
Just wondering what you have done in the past? What are you working on now, or plan to work on next?
Happy Thursday!

In the past I have made a few albums for people. As a rule I don't do it anymore, though. I've found that people who don't scrapbook don't do much with their pictures and often don't even get them printed. The albums I made often sat unused so I won't use my time and supplies for that anymore. Although, I did make one last one for my stepmother-in-law and she cried because she loved it so much. That made me feel good. I have also made some baby quilts which were well loved. Mostly my friends want me to make them treats like caramel brownies, cookies, truffles, etc. They all say I have a way with sugar. I have finally made some progress on my picture organizing process. I've chosen them all and picked some sketches for quick inspiration. Now I need to actually edit them.

Not really, except for the very rare card. I used to make small (8x8") albums for family. For babies. Once for a hobby-related album for my db. But they weren't wanted, and thought of as the cheap way out of gift-buying, so I stopped making them. I used to make lots of cards. But they weren't appreciated, either. I just don't want to put forth so much time and effort for something that is discarded like trash.

I created a baby album for an acquaintance mom who I was hoping we'd become friends. Our sons were in K together. She appreciated it, however, we started homeschooling our son and then moved. I created a canvas for my MIL and a scrapbook which held some pre-party pictures but was mainly of her 65th surprise party. I had each guest fill out a card with a story they'd shared with her and each guest had a picture taken with her. I spent alot of time on it. I don't think she really appreciated it until she showed it (probably complaining) to some people at work, she was telling me how they fawned over it and thought she must be really loved for someone to take this much effort. I try to make our cards but not Christmas ones. However, I stink at actually mailing them. It was fine when we saw everyone for their days or close to, but now we don't...I have to get better. I struggle with sympathy too. I know I should make some up to have ready.

I make cards. What I try to do is make them throughout the year and have a stash. That way I'm not racing to create one last minute. If I'm making sympathy cards, I will often make several of the same design if one turns out especially nice. Then I don't have to reinvent the wheel over and over, because those are hard for me too.
For DS's teachers, I made them all card sets as part of their end of the year gift. They were well-received and I've had several already reach out to me saying how much they love them. I was worried they wouldn't be enough of a gift, but seeing what other parents did and didn't do, I feel good about them.
I also try to craft tags, bags, etc. to give gift cards in at Christmas and whatnot to make them a bit more special.
I haven't made an album for anyone in years. I did an engagement album for my brother and SIL at was big hit. If DS hadn't been a newborn & toddler when my nieces were born, I would have made them something then, but I didn't have time. They're the only people I think I'd create albums for at this point!

I make a few cards...more this year than any other.
I have made albums as gifts or for special occasions for family and close friends. Not so much anymore. It has been a few years since the last one.
Almost made one for my niece's graduation (like KikiPea) (and the pics she shows are beautiful) BUT then I realized all my niece's facebook pics were of parties...not gonna make a scrapbook of that! Though thought of using Kesha lyrics...siiiiigh.
My next one is a mini album requested by my daughter's mil...a small handful of pics so probably a lunch bag mini with lots of tags!!
Perhaps a memorial book of my fil for my mil...I made one for my bro in law after his girlfriend passed, and it is still at my house, he could not look at it at the time.

Of course I have always wanted to create all kinds of things for people, and have the bin full of unfinished--should I say unopened--mini albums, printers' trays, and table centre kits to prove my good INTENTIONS! I meant to link to refugeepea 's challenge in the Tell Your Story challenges & prompts when I started this discussion. And I meant to add a challenge to try one of the projects on her Pinterest board, or something else just a little different from what you usually do. (Or to take out that bin of potential projects and think about what you could do with one of those kits!)

Until this year of December Daily I had never made an album for myself. They always were for other people. In addition to making albums, I make cards and tags for birthday, Christmas, Mother's Day, etc. Recently, I have started focusing on some albums for myself because my photos and memorabilia are just accumulating and it makes me crazy to just have them sit.

The school year is about to end for me, so I'm hoping that I'll have a bit more free time to scrap. I'm not on flickr, I haven't really thought about keeping any sort of gallery, but as I love looking at other people's creations, maybe I'll give it a shot

I make cards but we have a small family so don't need that many. I also make a scrapbook for my MIL for Christmas I used to make a calendar to but they stopped making the base last year so she didn't get one and wasn't too ace made a few mini albums. I am getting more realistic and just don't have the time and energy for that many gifts any more. i have knit a few gifts and most weren't really appreciated so I don't do that anymore. My MIL asked for an afghan and I made it and I don't think she ever really used it or the dog hair got on it which she swore wouldn't happen She wanted one just like I was making myself. I still use mine. Oh and I made cookies for my FIL last year for his birthday and he loved them. I will be doing that again.

Forgot to mention that I make a family calendar each year, scrapping the pages month by month, starting with December. Then when I have the November page done, I make a copy for each of my adult "kids", and attach to a 12x12 calendar for each. I used to use CTMH blank calendars, but found it a pain to stamp in all the dates, and now our LSS orders in calendars that have a 12x12 blank page and the dates filled on the facing page for the upcoming year.
It's fun, because the kids send me photos, and I think sometimes they compete to get particular months
