We already had our big meal for the day. I cooked the last pot roast out of the freezer with potatoes, carrots, green beans and gravy. It was delicious!

Since dh was sad that he didn't get to have take-out last night, I suggested that it could be tonight's dinner. He was hesitant, but I insisted. Lest anyone think I'm a slacker for not cooking two days in a row, I just got done cooking 6-lbs.of ground beef: 3-lbs.as sloppy joes and 3-lbs. as taco meat. Tomorrow will be chicken-in-the-crockpot cooking day, so I will prep those meals today. ETA: Congrats, leannec on your Ro-Tel score! Use it wisely!

I'm headed over to my sister's house in a few minutes to get started on putting together 1,000 (seems like) little tea sandwiches for our tea party. I'm also in charge of keeping the tea pots full. She doesn't trust me with much more than that! Oh, I'm allowed to bake. I made a double batch of Two Fat Ladies scones, a double batch of mini blondies (which are ugly because I put too much batter in each cup so they overflowed and are misshapen, BUT they are always incredibly delicious), and a pan of PW lemon bars. I've never made her recipe before, so I hope it's good. Dinner will be more of same. With my feet up. leannec, I bought 10 cans of Rotel at the supermarket yesterday, because they're on sale 10 for $10 (usually $1.99 each, which I think is outrageous). I thought of you while I was loading up.

Siciliano sausage with lemon and orange. Our butcher invents all these tasty sausages so we try them out!
Last unusual one was pumpkin pie spice! (It was amazing!)

We have spent the weekend pressure washing and staining our deck and I have to tell you, my labor's (DH) stomach is blowing my deck project budget out of the water...lol
We went out for chicken fajita's/margaritas last night and tonight I'm sure it will be take out from our favorite local Asian restaurant.

Lasagne at BIL's house. A cousin of him and DH and her family visited, so we had a very nice afternoon (I love when someone other than me cooks and does the dishes.....).

I had black beans and rice with some chips and salsa. DH has been wanting Hamburger Helper and, god help me, that's exactly what I made for his dinner. He was thrilled. I find it disgusting, but of course I didn't say anything, just served it with a smile. Really, the man doesn't ask for much and eats whatever I dish up. lucyg, you tea menu sounds delightful. I wish you were hosting the friends on this dinner thread! Good luck in your hostessing duties.

My dd's play soccer and had the opportunity to spend the day yesterday at Gillette Stadium playing in short games and then tailgating in the afternoon and ending with watching the New England Revs play last night. We were up at 4:15am and didn't get home until after midnight. Can we say exhaustion?! LOL After tailgating yesterday, which resulted in me eating more food and not that healthy food than I should have, I had salad for dinner. DS still hadn't had his birthday dinner so that happened tonight too...the kids had burgers and Arby fries (the frozen ones).

Tonight it's chicken mozzarella pasta. It's rare to find something that everyone likes and this is one of those recipes.

Well thanks to a freezer mishap, tonight dh is grilling 4 halibut steaks and 6 tuna steaks, instead of the baked potatoes I'd planned dh is craving mashed potato, so he's also in charge of that. I'm going to make a zucchini basil bake and possibly some other veg. It all depends if I manage to get through the mountain of ironing I'm working my way through.

Leftovers - they are endless - little bits of this and that. I am out of containers for them so we have to eat them up. And fresh sourdough bread.
Thanks for the thread.

I have been running errands all day and was almost done and I ended up breaking half my toes on my one foot. So I had dinner delivered so I can ice my poor foot. I ordered chicken parm from our local Italian place. It was just ok. Disappointing. I should probably just call it a night.
