Oh mini markets in black, navy, pine...
Sparked by this post, and the fact that I check FB, blog and website often hoping for news, all 3 are currently accessible as of a few minutes ago!

Sorry, didn't mean to mislead! I want those mini markets so bad! They are not available anywhere I can find! I was just hopeful that the website was back up, and not gone for good!!
I'm not ready to give up hope. I swear, OA could make a business just out of their alphas!! (And maybe their labels) I hoard those minis. I just used up my last "e" of my black & cream!!

They are officially out of business. They were served papers a couple of weeks ago and had to vacate the building in 48 hours. They were ALWAYS behind on their rent, got closed to being kicked out several times but this time was for good. Don't know how much stuff then had to move as they pretty well liquidated everything through their box sales and Peachy Cheap sales. Who knows what those wackadoodle owners will do now.

They could have had a good thing.

It's a shame they couldn't get it together. They had a wonderful product. Thank goodness Steve Duncan landed at Carta Bella. I'll miss the 8x8 paper pads the most

Such a bummer! They were hands down my favorite company over the years. The only positive is that Steve Duncan is at Carte Bella which thrills me because their quality is top notch! I know they (CB) have their formula down for products but it would be nice if they added alpha sheets and sticker/label sheets like OA had.

Too bad they couldn't get their act together. I wonder why they didn't sell before they went totally under. Surely some company would have bought the brand name.

Yes definitely too bad they didn't sell when they had the chance. A re-release or updated twists on their classic lines would be best sellers. Release their alpha sets in every color imaginable. Take the vintage people out of the lines and replace them with signs or motifs. It would be amazing if they'd sell the rights to their lines to someone with a vision and business acumen.

This makes me bummed all over again. Going to their warehouse sale a few times was so fun! And at some point, I convinced myself I had enough, but they were my #1 fave line and over time I'm sure I'll regret not stockpiling more. It is unfortunate they didn't sell or get their act together in running the business. Hope they aren't in a bad spot with their personal lives after the business went down.

Ugh, I knew it was inevitable but still. I'm thinking back on all my trips to Archiver's where I would stuff my basket full of OA goodies. As much as I love(d) them, I must say that OA has to hold some kind of record for the longest, slowest death of a business anywhere, ever.

I hate to hear this, their style was a favorite of mine! I'm glad to hear about the designer at Carte Bella though, the lines posted above have great OA flavor.

Damn. Damn. Damnity Damn. I knew it was coming, but it still sucks. I wish they could have let someone else's run the business and and just keep the relative end in their own, I also think they could have made a nice stack of cash by just rereleasing some of their older lines. I like some of the CB stuff, but it is certainly not the same or anywhere near as versatile as the OA was.
Scrapworks, Scenic Route. Sassafras- I hated when they went out of business- but this one hurts the most. OA- no one can replace you, You had me at Detours.

Given the irregularity of releases throughout its existence, I've often speculated the company must be a hobby/side business for the owners & not their livelihood. If so, its demise is merely a tax write-off.
While surprised the company survived for years with such poor management & its closing was anticipated, I'm still disappointed/sad & will miss OA...

Much like everyone else, I am so sad to seem them go. I would have really liked them to do one last re-release of all the lines (similar to what g45 has done with its "collector editions.") And, oh, what I wouldn't give for a re-release of some old sassafras lines!

I'm sad, too. I save every tiny scrap of OA paper, especially the Christmas stuff. I love my OA stash! But they survived longer than I expected, honestly. Talk about incompetent.

They had real talent, it's too bad business wasn't part of it! ETA I hope it's true it was a side business. The releases did indicate it might be!

Hello! My name is Cara and I'm an OA addict. I agree with all who posted before - not surprised but I am saddened. I have traveled 10 hours each way-2 times to attend their warehouse sale it was so worth it. I guess their closure means I will be hoarding OA Even more so then before. Who is going to be worthy of this paper now? 😇

Welcome, ccarr68! There are times I'd like to just frame some of my favorite papers and never actually use them.
