I would totally eat that! What are the drips on the banana candle are made of? Mayonnaise would be appropriate, but what sticks to a banana like that? And why is the banana straight? So many burning questions. You opened a real can of worms with this one, OP.

Aww, he's kinda cute! I'd never eat that, but he'd make me smile sitting there on the table! I dunno, he looks like some strange, mutant eel-fish and eels completely skeeve me out. The card said it's made with tomato jello, tuna, and pimento stuffed olives. This is one of the few fish ones I've found that isn't all mayo'd up. Now see, I was fine until you listed the ingredients. You all are giving me jello nightmares. I actually like jello, or at least I did last week.

Any of you ole biddies know what the record is any way? Surely spending most of your time on here and not taking care of your home or husband has paid off with that kinda of knowledge.

Anybody remember The Office episode when Jim pranked Dwight by encasing his stapler in jello? I think it happened in the UK version, too. (I can't remember the last time I ate jello, but I've been craving it all day. I want a little white bowl with cubes of red jello. Like in a cafeteria. How do they make the cubes? Do they make a flat pan of jello and then cut it up? Seems labor intensive.)

Ugh I just admitted I've made cafeteria jello. SaveSave

I've waited my whole life to get to ol' biddy status. I thought I had a few more years, but apparently not. I'm thrilled. I'm going to go out and buy a purple outfit.

This thread is awesome. To the people who were socializing in the 70s, did you actually eat these jello salad things? I can't imagine being served something like what's pictured without it being a horrifying joke.

And see, this right here is probably why I hate most jello today. I distinctly remember jello with vegetables from when I was growing up I don't remember veggie-flavored jello - cuz: ugh - but I'll join you in remembering "jello salad" (all the rage then) with vegetables IN it. My mom made one with celery in it, along with apples and nuts.... ...and I liked it. There, I said it. Oh yeah. I liked it, too. I think my moms was lime jello with celery and nuts and pineapple.

WTF is avacado jello? I'm wondering but not really sure I want to know.... I know I'm a few pages too late but, I had a hard enough time with the mayonnaise in guacamole who the hell puts jello in??? That ought to be a crime. I think they shoot you in Texas for that but I'm not positive

I can't imagine being served something like what's pictured without it being a horrifying joke. Jello "salads" were a common side dish at every special meal and potluck. I can't remember ever having a holiday meal without one (usually of the fruity variety). Someone (probably the people who make Jello) no doubt promoted it as essential way for a housewife to raise her social standing with a well-presented, beautifully molded concoction. You can probably find a picture of one in every women's magazine from the 50s through the 70s. Americans can be a gullible bunch.

I remember lots of "jello salads," but they were almost always made in ring molds. For instance, my mother made one at Christmas that was red jello with strawberries, pineapple, and walnuts inside. The photos here of turkey-shaped and fish-shaped creations, colored to replicate the creature? Nope, never saw those in real life. They jello rings probably caught on because they were easy to make the night before and were colorful. And they made "salad" taste like dessert, so kids liked them at holiday dinners. Just like several years later, when "taffy apple salad" was all the rage. (How that is not a dessert is beyond me...)

So this was the person I blocked and also blocked seeing all threads started by this user. Then I saw a reference in another thread to the jello recipes in the killary thread and I realized I was missing out. I tried to unblock, but it was too late. Thankfully I can still access it from Tapatalk. I've been laughing for a good hour now.
I love all of you so much. I think you biddies have convinced me to vote for Hillary now with your amazing jello recipes and Hoff pictures. One more haiku would seal the deal.

My favorite dish at Thanksgiving when I was a kid was a pale green Jello mold with pineapple, pecans and either cottage cheese or marshmallows.
