Really?? I regularly find them incredibly disappointing! It's hard to beat a glorious English summer day, truly, but there's just not enough of them!!! Yeah, I know I'm weird. I actually prefer cloudy days. That was one of the harder parts of living in Phoenix for me (& to an extent St Louis), to many days of sunshine. It effects my mood too much sunshine. Been that way since I could remember. I'm happy to swap a few days with you!

These weather threads always crack me up when half the people don't identify where they are at! So Cal here bracing for upcoming heat wave.....we've already got a big 0% contained wildfire in Santa Barbara..ohh I'm praying we don't have a bad fire season on top of everything.

It's +8C/47F here in northern Alberta. We have a rainfall warning and a wind warning. After one dry then 2 drought summer and last winter of no snow all that moisture has fallen this month. West of us there are roads and bridges washed out, some people evacuated in low spots. Just last month the fire hazard was so high and there were wildfires in these areas and people were evacuated. (not the exact same neighbourhoods, just in the general area). Supposed to be 25C/77F on Sunday. Up, down all month.

As someone that's gearing up for 120 degrees on Sunday, yes.....I'm definitely ready for summer to be over!! Unfortunately, it's only a sign of things to come. Are you in Phoenix, MissChris? I live in Mesa and work in Phoenix.

Never, I love summer and don't mind the heat. We haven't had many hot days in Pgh., first week in June it was chilly, in the 60s.
I don't enjoy fall, winter, and "spring" (aka still winter)so I am always ready for a long sunny, hot summer!

But I live in Pgh. where we average 59 sunny days a year. It's very depressing, especially in the fall and spring when we get a lot of cloudy days. All my friends that moved here from another state can't wait to leave Pgh., mainly because of the weather. My friend's mil lives in AZ. There are tons of people from Pgh. just in her neighborhood. They moved for better weather.

I get so tired of seeing clear blue skies every single day! Of course, the monsoons should be coming in pretty soon, so that'll make me a happy camper.

I'm outside St Louis, it is just way too hot all ready. The weather people were warning back in May this would be a scorcher of a summer, but that June would be O.K. Makes me scared for July & August with June this bad. It's O.K to live in my pool, right? Sometimes I complain about it's upkeep, but I sure am happy to have it. OMG yes! Too hot already! Yesterday was 96 degrees with 85% humidity. Yuck! I would never venture outside if I wasn't getting in my pool. Seems the older I get (52) the less I can tolerate the heat. I'm ready to move to Maine!

Me too....it was 95 yesterday with the heat index made it feel like 105 and it's only June. We have at least 4 more months of this.
I can't wait until I retire and become a snowbird so I can have the best of both worlds.

It's actually been more comfortable in NC than in recent years. We've had a few really hot/humid days but I'm kind of surprised at the weather. That being said, I'm super scared to see what the next few months bring. FTR, I hate summer. It's my least favorite season.

mellyw , I remember when we would visit my grandma in Hannibal when I was a kid--we always went in August and it was just dreadful. Missouri summers are no joke. I grew up in Ohio so I didn't experience that kind of heat+humidity again until we moved to southern coastal Virginia 13 years ago. I DESPISE the summers here. I dread summer the way some people dread winter. We've been having hot humid days (today's one of them) interspersed with a nice day here and there, but any day now it will just be hot and humid until September. When we get to late July, early August, I sit and fantasize about going to Maine and breathing some cool dry air! Are you by the water, Mystie? I can put up with hot, humid weather if I'm by a large body of water. I grew up in Michigan, got so spoiled by having those beautiful (shark-free) lakes. Would move back in a heartbeat, except for that little issue of snow. I can work around cold, but I do not do snow, like at all. I've lived & traveled everywhere, & my favorite weather place was England, Germany a close second. I actually didn't mind Phoenix, hot as hell but the low humidity made it tolerable to me. One of the worse was Japan. I loved, loved living there, but the summers? Holy hell steamy. Weeelll, there's a lot of water here. We're on a peninsula between the York and James Rivers, right where they empty into the Chesapeake Bay and the ocean. However, it's really swampy here, and I think all the water makes the humidity worse. Now, if you go to the beach on a hot day, it will definitely be cooler by the water, but there aren't as many places to do that here as I think there should be. Lots of the prime waterfront real estate is already claimed. So long story short, we're over an hour from a nice ocean beach, and it's just not worth it most of the time. We lived in Idaho about 20 years ago, and I really liked the summers there. Sunny and hot in the days, cool at night, and very low humidity. Very pleasant. Save

My friend always says I get super giddy when it gets cloudy! Gray skies and clouds just really make me happy.
I was living in Oregon when it hit 122 and I actually made the comment--"What person in their right mind would live in a place like that?" One year later, I became that person!
I don't think we're supposed to break the record. Sunday's supposed to be 120, Monday 119, and then the rest of next week 115. But the season is young, so who knows!

It was so cold here last night that I put our electric foot warmer on! I'm looking forward to a warming trend, and the beauty of living on the San Francisco Bay is that it won't last too long.

We are in Alaska and even here they are having record breaking heat - though still feels nice to us in the 70s. But the snow is melting quickly!

I live my summers, so no. I love having time off and I love the pool, hiking, being outside...
Colorado isn't really humid, so that isn't an issue

Heck no! I love the heat! I am a summer girl through and through. I'm on the beach near St Augustine, Florida this week --- soaking up those hot, sunny rays. I walk right out the back door and onto the beach. It's glorious!

I am in the Pacific NW and still waiting for summer to start. It was raining yesterday. It's sunny and 67 currently. But, generally our summer (aka no rain) doesn't start until July 5th.

O.K, some of you posting you are waiting for summer to start or are freezing, aren't posting where you are. Are you afraid I'm going to show up begging to stay? It's only 98 with 5000% humidity right now in St Louis. Just missed the record high! ETA- That's 36 Celsius for the Brit's on here. Still want to swap, Gar?

After 2-3 cloudy days people here are grouchy, myself included. We average 314 days a year in northern Alberta. Calgary is the sunniest city in Canada it averages 333. It might be 40 below out and the sun doesn't rise until after 9am and is going down by 4pm in the winter but we will have blue skies and sunshine for those 7 hours of daylight at least.
