Another SoCal person here. So far the weather has been nice, low 70's most of the time. But by Monday we are expecting triple digits. UGH!

5 C and raining here mid afternoon. That is a little over 40F. So I am waiting for summer to ARRIVE, please. Don't relish some of the temps you are describing, but could certainly use a little part of that heat...

I'm over summer already. It's too hot to enjoy the longer days or want to do anything outdoors.

Our weather has been hit or miss, as usual. A couple weeks ago it was in the 90's this whole past week it's been in the 60's. Supposed to get back into mid 80's by next week. We don't have high humidity unless it's stormy so it's great. 95 is still hot though. We are in Spokane.

I love summer, but our AC went out yesterday and these are the hottest days of the year. I would take a break.

Really?? I regularly find them incredibly disappointing! It's hard to beat a glorious English summer day, truly, but there's just not enough of them!!! Yeah, I know I'm weird. I actually prefer cloudy days. That was one of the harder parts of living in Phoenix for me (& to an extent St Louis), to many days of sunshine. It effects my mood too much sunshine. Been that way since I could remember. Oh gosh, me too! It's almost like a reverse seasonal affective disorder. South Central Texas is definitely not the ideal location for me in regards to the weather!

People think it's so strange to like cloudy days & get depressed from too much sunshine. That's how I always try to explain it, reverse seasonal effective disorder, & they still look at me like I have a screw loose. Well, I probably do, but not because of that.

mellyw Nothing wrong with a few screws loose! I am at my best when it is cool and cloudy. Add in rain or an actual storm I am downright giddy. Just as those that love the sunshine like to bask in the sun, I do the same in "bad" weather. My mind clears and I can literally feel my body relax. And the opposite is true, my mood sours when it is sunny and hot. Even just sunny can have me on edge.

I live in Ky, and we have had about a week of nearly 100 degree temps. We usually get a few days this hot, but not generally a week's worth and not this early in the summer. I'm really hoping Mother Nature is getting it out of her system early, and we'll be back to our normal, slightly less hot temps soon.

Me too! But I live in Pgh. where we average 59 sunny days a year. It's very depressing, especially in the fall and spring when we get a lot of cloudy days. All my friends that moved here from another state can't wait to leave Pgh., mainly because of the weather. My friend's mil lives in AZ. There are tons of people from Pgh. just in her neighborhood. They moved for better weather. You average 59 days a year? Holy crap. I can't even imagine! After 2-3 cloudy days people here are grouchy, myself included. We average 314 days a year in northern Alberta. Calgary is the sunniest city in Canada it averages 333. It might be 40 below out and the sun doesn't rise until after 9am and is going down by 4pm in the winter but we will have blue skies and sunshine for those 7 hours of daylight at least. I don't know how many hours a day the sun needs to shine to be considered "sunny" but our average is way too low! When the Steelers play other teams in the playoffs, they paper always compares things between the cities. One thing they compare is "number of sunny days" and they always say 59 for us. A lot of people here take vitamin D vitamins because of the lack of sunny weather.

This describes me perfectly!! I grew up on Oregon, but have lived the last 24 years in Arizona. I miss gray skies, clouds, rain, and overall gloomy days! I get so tired of seeing clear blue skies every single day! Of course, the monsoons should be coming in pretty soon, so that'll make me a happy camper. Look, look, another like me! I've only known one other person who prefers cloudy, maybe would should be in a club! I lived in Phoenix when the record 122 happened. Are they still predicting breaking it? I'm another one that prefers cloudy days over bright sunshine. The sun just makes my head hurt! I am glad to know I'm not the only one. In my group of friends I must be evil to not like the sunny and/or hot days.

Last summer this time we were flooding with below normal temps. This year it's been 110 with the heat index. Bleck. Unfortunately this summer is the typical Oklahoma summer. By July it will be absolutely miserable and the pool and lake water will be luke warm.

I thought I could brag about how hot it is here in Morocco but it is down right pleasant compared to what you guys are experiencing in the States. Maybe you can build a walk in freezer to stay in?

Our *first* really hot and humid day was last weekend and on that day I was so done with summer. I hate the heat and humidity (I'm in GA) and I just mostly suffer through it. I don't enjoy the pool or doing anything outside when it's that hot. And it seems to drag on and on and on. We'll start feeling less humidity about mid Sept and cooler temps in Oct. So long from now!

We've had a few nice days but it's been windy and cool lately. Today, I'm under a blanket sitting on the couch. I'll trade you any time. I'll trade! I'm in Oklahoma & we're on our 4th day with temps in the upper 90's & heat indexes > 115°!!!!. This morning at 6:30 it was 81° with humidity of 97%!. Thank God the a/c is working great. I just don't want to see the bill though!

Oh my gosh, it's been perfect New England weather this week. Days in the 70s to low 80s. Bright sunshine. No humidity. Just spectacular. Almost makes the cold, snowy winters worth it.
