The dd of a friend of ours is moving to Melbourne Australia for a year to teach, & is leaving in a couple weeks. Does anyone know, if I buy her a starbucks gift card in Canada will it work in Melbourne?

I think the answer is maybe/probably: from their website... Customer Service Where can I use my Starbucks Card? Published 09/17/2012 02:16 PM | Updated 06/03/2016 07:53 PM Starbucks Cards are accepted at most Starbucks locations in North America, including airport and grocery locations. Starbucks Cards can also be used interchangeably at most stores in Australia, Hong Kong, Ireland, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. Starbucks Cards issued in Greece, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand and Turkey may only be used in the country from which they are issued. customerservice.starbucks.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2010/kw/Can%20I%20use%20my%20gift%20card%20in%20Australia%3F(ETA: I don't know how the currency conversion works out but I assume their computer figures it out.)

Other countries, no.

I bought DH one for Christmas, specifically asked if it would be good at the locations in Target stores and Barnes and Noble. They said no problem. They lied.
