What is your go to bridal shower meal on a hot July day?
I am throwing a bridal shower and serving a light dinner. Originally I had planned to keep it simple with two different types of summer salads, rolls and three different desserts. This was the plan before we got a head count. Originally she told me 40ish but she ended up inviting over 70 people to the shower. And I am beginning to worry about my plan.
I am concerned about serving salad where there won't be enough tables for everyone to sit down and eat. If you are standing and mingling would it be difficult to eat a salad? Should I make it all finger food where you don't need utensils.
What would you serve at a July bridal shower? Jen

Make a couple of pasta salads and buy some chinet for your dishes. Those are sturdy enough to eat a pasta salad while standing.
I'd make one with cheese tortellini, italian dressing, and your favorite antipasti choices (green onions, olives, pepperoni, mozzarella, salami, artichokes). And then something like a Mexican taco pasta salad.
Little cold cut sandwiches are also a fine choice.

I'd make sure people had a place to sit and eat.

Personally, if you are having a shower at dinner time, I would expect a dinner, not a salad. I don't know why people think that a shower should have salad only or less than a dinner at dinner time. If the event isn't formal, then grill burgers and hot dogs and have pasta salads. Taco fixings that can be made into nachos or taco salad, or a platter of lunch meat, cheese, bread and condiments for sandwiches along with salads would all be more dinner-like.

I think I will go to plan B which is to do either a luau food or pork tacos.

A luau type party could be quite pretty.
A crab puff type yum would be nice. Could use salmon.
I have wanted to try this: a bite size piece of barbacue on top of a corn muffin frosted with gorganzola dulce cream cheese. I think a pork tenderloin would work well.
Lumpia would be good.
Shrimp served with a fruit salsa.
Bite size red potatoes dressed with a garlic onion butter sauce. Can be served cold.

I would try to have places for all to sit, especially with salads. Finger foods would be fine for me! I'm an appetizer type of person!
