So this is what my evening sounded like:
"Alexa add Instant Pot to my cart" "I added Instant Hot to your cart" "Alexa add Instant PPPot to my cart" "I added Instant Hot to your cart" "Alexa add Instant PPPOOOTTT to my cart" "I added Instant Hot to your cart" "Alexa you need hearing aids"
After about a half an hour messing with the app and Amazon (deleting stuff) I finally got it in my cart with the $10 off!

Yup, totally enabled by the Peas! Although I do have to say that I had read the threads here and wanted one, but DH was not on board. I got an email from him yesterday saying let's get one! I was so "Wow, the refupeas are powerful enablers! They even got to DH without me saying another word!" LOL. Now I am addicted to watching IP videos on Youtube. I stayed up WAY to late last night watching them. Thank goodness it summer and I'm off!
For the storage question, I also have a super tiny kitchen with NO storage. I have a Raskog cart from IKEA that I am hoping is wide enough to hold it on the top basket. If that doesn't work it will have to live where my crockpot currently lives and the crockpot will have to move to the basement. I totally see this taking the place of my crockpot.

I had just bought myself one before Prime Day - got it Saturday - but I bought another one yesterday for my daughter-in-law for her birthday! All because of elaine! lol

I did. I have a pressure cooker I like and use, but I hate the nonstick liner. I also want to be able to make yogurt. Going to check threads for info on that. I use yogurt in my smoothies, but I hate all the stuff added to store bought yogurt.

I had thought of purchasing one for a long time. I decided to wait for Prime Day. It worked out well!

I caved thanks to all you enablers!!! Actually, hubs has been saying for a while that he really wants a pressure cooker. He is the primary cook at our house so I feel like he should have one if he really wants one. I was just nervous about hearing the "old horror stories" about the old fashioned pressure cookers. Once I started reading all the Pea reviews of the Insta-Pot and then saw it on the Amazon Deal Day, I just ordered it. So excited that I already have a birthday present for him that he wants and will be totally surprised about!!

I just read a story on Yahoo about Amazon Prime day, and it says by noon Seattle time, there were 91,000 Instant Pots sold... and I was one of them, lol!! (I signed up for Prime JUST to buy it, actually!) I wonder how many of those 91,000 sales were to Refupeas?? (and elaine 's enabling!) ETA: when I got home last night, I told my boyfriend, "on Friday my Christmas present from you will be arriving, lol!!" I wasn't sure how enthusiastic he would be about me purchasing another kitchen gadget, but when I told him about it and that it was $70, he was like, "oh, okay; cool!" So then I go on to say something about the extra pot, and he says, "wait, you bought MORE?!?" and I started explaining all the things I *needed* to go with it... to which he replied, "just tell me, how much was the final bill?" lol!! It really WAS all necessary... I can't very well use it without the cookbooks or the tongs, or the extra pot, can I?!? (because Elaine said I needed them, then I MUST need them!! )

I have never been to a dog show that long so I'm not sure of schedules or timing so I can see this being perfect! I've never had a pressure cooker so I'm excited to get mine and play.

I ordered one right before Prime Day, but then I ordered another yesterday because the price was so much better. I'll send the first one back, it's coming today.

I didn't respond to the poll because I'm not sure if I want one or not. First I'd ever heard of this was the other day here on the board. I haven't done any research at all to see if it is something useful to us. It isn't just about the price but the space. I'm not buying anything particularly for the kitchen unless I'm sure I'll get a lot of use out of it. Space is precious. This is a good point. It's quite large. I have a lot of storage space but it won't fit it my cabinets due to height. So it has to sit on the counter. Hm. I did a rough measure where I wanted to put it and I think it will fit. If I can't find a cupboard home for it, it will go back--I do not have the counter space for it to live there permanently! Save

I didn't get one because 1) I don't have Prime (although I could have had someone order it for me), and 2) I decided I want the 8 qt. So I'll be saving my pennies for that version. Maybe it will be my Christmas present.

Of all people, my FIL convinced me and DH that we needed an electric pressure cooker. I'm not sure if he has the instant pot, but he loves his. He does all the cooking and was really impressed with how quickly he could get dinner ready. So then the peas started talking up the Instant Pot. I almost purchased one several times, but never could quite bring myself to place the order. Then it was a Prime Day deal, and I knew I was meant to have one! DH agreed, especially when I told him it was $50 off! I purchased the tongs and cookbook elaine recommended, as well as a springform pan for cheesecake. I can't wait to do some experimenting with it.

I really wanted one, but the US voltage is no good for here in New Zealand, so I'm waiting until a NZ/Australia model is released in a month or so. That way I can also get a local warranty etc.

That's what I'm planning to do as well. I have a small kitchen but the advantage of the IP is it has so many functions. I can get rid of my old pressure cooker and crockpot.

I figured if they can use it (and store it), so can I!

I jumped in yesterday thanks to this place. I kept putting it in and out of my cart. I finally jumped because dinner is always such a hassle. I have 4 more weeks of summer break to get into the habit of using it. I can't wait to play with it.

I'm old fashioned and prefer a traditional pressure cooker. I picked up an 8 qt one from Kohl's a few weeks ago and love it. Yes, I have to watch it, but I don't fear pressure cookers and am home most of the time, so it's not an inconvenience for me. The main reason I choose traditional is because I find with the digital ones, you can't finish cooking your food (i.e. thicken up sauces, finish cooking undercooked grains/meats) without transferring to another pot. I can do that now. I tried a digital one a few months ago, but just wasn't feeling it. Yes, you can. I do it all the time. You just switch from the pressure setting to the sauté setting and thicken or finish cooking away. It will also automatically switch over to "keep it warm" when the time is up on whatever setting you are using to keep things warm without cooking any further.

Because of Elaine and the peas, I signed up for Prime and bought the Instant pot, tongs and two Jackerys. My dd also did some shopping on my account and bought protein powder, a spiralizer, pen lights for work and a pair of edible underwear- like those candy necklaces!!! She is standing up in two weddings and for one of the bachelorette parties, the girls are giving the bride undies.

We had been in the market for a while and knew that the prime day deal was our opportunity! I'm super excited that it doesn't heat up the kitchen like the oven for roasting or boiling a pot of water. I also have been getting pretty annoyed at the sheer amount of time I spend in the kitchen prepping food when I could be out hunting pokemon or watching tv (or scrapbooking...?) I have been looking for one-pot meals but haven't found much. I'm looking for stuff like "dump frozen chicken breasts, raw rice and beans, and frozen veggies in, add water, and set." Anyone have recommendations for recipes (or even just methods that you can swap out ingredients) like that? I will never use my stove again!

Ordered one as well. But now I'm realizing that if I have a hard time opening up a roll of Pillsbury biscuits, how the heck as I going to be able to turn that steam release valve?

my kitchen is too small to add anything. I barely have any food storage..let alone storage for anything else. I can make 15 min meals on my cooktop just fine.

Hmmmm...wish I had thought to ask this question yesterday. LOL. Oh well, the 8 qt is also a better fit for my family of six (who also likes leftovers). But maybe I'll look for this on Black Friday for smaller meals.

Since I don't mind doing rice and veggies separately, I am not a wealth of info for 1-pot meals. I would try the Instant Pot Community FB Group for those types of recipes and also look on the internet - maybe at www.hippressurecooking.comFor example, tonight I grilled salmon on a cedar plank on the grill and made basmati rice in one pressure cooker and bok choy in the other pressure cooker and had a gourmet meal done in 40 minutes, with really only maybe 5-10 minutes of paying attention to what I'm doing and 25 minutes of waiting and doing something else.
