So on Amazon Prime Day I purchased a black lite flashlight at a steep discount. It's not something I ever thought about buying, but you know how it goes -"80% off, how cool, what a steal!" We have two dogs and I am a bit of a neatnik. I wanted to make sure that we didn't miss any small accidents they might occasionally have.
The good news is my carpets and floors are quite spotless. The bad news is my walls and bathrooms look like a crime scene! Holy hell! I will be spending the rest of the week scrubbing every wall surface in my house. Or I may just have to burn the whole %#^ing house down. And I am considering putting in an outhouse. And making every person who walks in the door put on a hazmat suit. Sometimes what you don't know should just be left alone!

I'll bet another really good rule to have if you own one is DO NOT TAKE IT WITH YOU WHEN TRAVELING.

Why? Why would you buy such a thing?? We laugh all the time about CSI type shows where they easily find whatever substance they are looking for and ONLY that substance. We joke about what they would see in a real house with real people living there! I don't want to know!

What type of "substances" is it seeing? I only know of semen from watching TV shows. I am assuming you aren't referring to that bodily fluid all over your walls

Dh hashad one, he got it to see if he could find a coolant leak in his car ac. The body shop injected a dye into the coolant but he didn't find the leak. I think he also thought it would be useful for charging glow in the dark stuff for fun with the kids. I would hate to know what my house looks like.

We bought one of those a couple months ago. After 19 years of perfect litter box behavior from a total of 8 cats over the years, one of the boys started spraying in the house, so we bought the light to find the spots. We found the spots. And a variety of other mysterious spots, stains and marks.

I would imagine you would see a lot of those type of stains on walls if they do. Particularly around outlets, wall switches, and if you have any small kids or anyone with balance or mobility issues, near stairs or on any wall near a toilet. It took me a while to realize that I was always scrubbing the same area on our bathroom walls because my littlest one was holding onto the wall for help with his balance when getting up and down off the toilet when he was still quite small. It reminds me of the TV show, "Monk," when he got a black light to look at his hotel room. He was not happy!!
