NBC news just announced. Discuss? ETA I got so excited, I should have added that we're talking about Hillary Clinton's choice for VP.

Ehhhhhhhh.
Not who I'd have picked but they don't pay me the big bucks.

That's a safe pick. Not who I hoped for.

I think that he may be a good choice. I am surprised that the media is breaking the story while she's giving a speech. Odd. But, I think that she is doing a good job of being kinder and gentler than Trump.

I agree with it being a safe choice but not one I would have chosen.

I was hoping for Julian Castro but Tim Kaine is really awesome. I just don't know what she wants him to bring to her campaign.

At first I was 't sure I was going to like Tim Kaine. I was hoping for someone a little more exciting.
What sold me is his foreign policy experience.
From the beginning I have felt foreign policy experience is key to this election. That is why I stuck with Hillary and now that is why I think he was the best of the final three candidates.
With the dysfunctional Congress we have not much is going to get done on the domestic front. I feel the true challenges to the next president is outside this country. So have both a President and Vice President with foreign policy experience is a big plus for me.

I like what I've seen about hm so far. There is enough drama surrounding Hillary that a safe choice would be a good balance right about now.

I'm disappointed. I don't think he is going to give her the edge she will need to win the election. Not much of an incentive for those who supported Bernie to come on board and vote for her. That said, I'll hold my nose and vote for her regardless. Much more important to keep a Democrate in the White House.

As a Virginian it strikes me as a pretty strategic pick. I think he was decent for us and I think it may tip the balance in Virginia once again.

I would have liked Julian Castro, too, but now he's tied to some kind of scandal, and it's not like he was ever going to deliver Texas for her. Kaine is probably the safer pick.

I see him as a "safe" choice, too, and I'm good with that. I think he's very calm, very rational, experienced ... and he does speak fluent Spanish. I always thought that having a woman at the top of the ticket ... and an often-reviled woman, at that ... is enough excitement for Middle America for now.

I'm watching MSNBC and they were talking about the call Hillary made to Kaine and how she told him what she was looking for in her VP. I have always supported Hillary because of her qualifications but it occurred to me that for the first time in a Presidential race is this country a woman is calling the shots. Like her don't like her but how neat is that.

I think it is a good pick. He brings even more experience which is what she is selling. I think she learned from John McCain's fiasco pick that you don't undermine your key asset by putting someone on the ticket who greatly lacks what you are trying to emphasize.
Are Sander's voters going to vote for Trump? Are they going to stay home and let Trump win? I don't think so.

Especially for this mom who named her kids after suffragettes?? I know it doesn't make a lot of sense to vote that way just because but now that it is a possibility, I'm making plans!

I don't know anything about Kaine, but I'm encouraged by the news reports I've heard so far.

I expected this but still disappointed. Between this and the Wikileaks releases today she has lost a lot of the Bernie voters I see on Twitter. For my part, I wasn't planning on voting for Hilary but the Republican convention made me reconsider. I really can't imagine anything that would make me vote for her now.

Some say they will vote for Hillary, some say they will vote 3rd party and some say they will stay home. But not a single one of them says they will vote for Trump.
