In your experience....should I hold for the post office or contact the shipper?
I have two packages that are marked as delivered by USPS on the same day and time.. Neither one has shown up. It's been a week since the supposed delivery. One was priority mail and I have the tracking number that starts with the 9. The other was transferred to the post office by Fed-Ex and that tracking number is a Fed-Ex tracking number.
I saw the missing pkg link on the USPS website, but it asks for info that I don't have. I am so annoyed. One notification says it was delivered to a parcel box, which we get the key for in our mail box, and then the key stays in place once you take your pkg out. There has been no key in my box, and nothing at my door. Stupid mail person probably dumped the key in someone else's box.
Interestingly enough, the priority tracking number did not update for 5 days from the date it was supposed to be delivered!
thanks for your reply.

contact the post office. the shipper will not know anything more than that it shows delivered. they would end up contacting the post office too. you might as well cut out the middle man.

IME when you go through the process via phone they just take the info and forward it to your post office to follow up/investigate. They don't actually "do" anything or help in any way. I would just wait and call or go to your post office tomorrow.
eta- they being the USPS people via phone. But depending on the shipper... I have had some (bigger online merchants) reship my items and then they handle the missing package hassle with USPS or fedex

I have contacted amazon and keurig for missing packages and they have figured out what happened or replaced the items. USPS is incompetent and I don't care to bother having them try to find the package if I don't have to.

I've never contacted the USPS for a missing package.
I contact the company I ordered from and expect them to deal with it. I don't expect to have to deal with it myself.

My feeling is that the shipper chose to use a shitty delivery method, they can figure out what their shitty carrier did with it. And yes, I am in a shitty mood right now.

Try to get the info you need to complete the form on USPS's website. I just had a problem with them where my UPS Mail Innovations package stopped with "transferred to post office." I waited several more days to see if it would get delivered. Five days after the supposed transfer, I sent that form to USPS and said "you know, there's probably not much to be done, the package is insured, but I didn't know how to ask the local office to, you know, look around for the shipment of UPS packages."
What do you suppose was delivered to me the very.next.day by the post office?
I realize yours is a little different because yours are both marked as delivered, but it seems like sometimes they just need a little prodding to LOOK AGAIN.
If the USPS can't find your package, then contact the shipper. The shipper may or may not do anything for you with the packages marked as delivered, but a lot of places will just because it's good customer service and the cost of replacing your one shipment is a drop in the overall bucket.

And I wouldn't "hold" for anybody.
I'd email the seller's customer service.

I would contact the shipper for exactly the reason littlemama stated above.

having tracked down a package that was supposedly delivered to a package box, get a hold of your local post office and let them know that you have not received the key for the box, and that they need to get you the key, or figure out where the packages are. You can also contact the people that sent the packages and let them deal with the post office.

Unfortunately I did get a key today, but it was for a package I ordered at least a week after the first two. So bummed I now have to deal with this. I am going to contact the shippers first, see what they say. Thank you peas, for your thoughts on the matter. Save
