“Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.”
I love her.

Ok now the balloons are getting out of control. Someone is going to get hurt. I think they might lose that one little kid...

And there is some guy on the stage picking up the normal balloons and popping them with his teeth. You know that guy is named Steve. Frickin' Steve.

Seriously--so many good lines. One of my faves: A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons.

Jeepers, Bill Clinton's not that old. He's a year older than his wife and I don't think of her as old. I have old ovaries and I swear they swelled with pride at the end of that speech. No he really isn't that old. But, the campaign trail would be tiring for anyone. He's done it twice for himself. One other time for her, and now another time for her. Nevermind the 8 years he served as president, or all the other public offices he and she have held. I'd have gone off the deep end. I admire anyone who can do it.

Her statement on the 2nd amendment sounded good...I doubt she really meant it, but it sounded good. I missed it, what did she say?

I'm paraphrasing because I don't remember verbatim, but she said something like I don't want to take your guns I don't want to make it impossible for law abiding citizens to buy guns I want to make it harder for you to be shot by people who shouldn't have a gun in the first place

Watching bill Maher right now and one thing we didn't mention was the fact that Hillary underhanded acknowledged the infidelity in her marriageyes and said basically they had weathered it, worked through it, and came out stronger and since they are still together 20 years later and their eyes show love and pride toward each other, I think they did.

I don't want to take your guns away. But I don't want you shot by somebody who shouldn't have a gun in the first place.

But I don't want you shot by somebody who shouldn't have a gun in the first place. What is her plan for preventing that? From her website: As president, Hillary will: Expand background checks to more gun sales—including by closing the gun show and internet sales loopholes—and strengthen the background check system by getting rid of the so-called “Charleston Loophole.” Take on the gun lobby by removing the industry’s sweeping legal protection for illegal and irresponsible actions (which makes it almost impossible for people to hold them accountable), and revoking licenses from dealers who break the law. Keep guns out of the hands of domestic abusers, other violent criminals, and the severely mentally ill by supporting laws that stop domestic abusers from buying and owning guns, making it a federal crime for someone to intentionally buy a gun for a person prohibited from owning one, and closing the loopholes that allow people suffering from severe mental illness to purchase and own guns. She will also support work to keep military-style weapons off our streets.

My parents are coming up on 50 years in August... we're celebrating this Saturday (because my brother will still be here; mid to late August is a crappy time for them to be away from where they live)... I've come to accept that marriages can be complex & weird. Anyone who says Bill & Hillary are just together for political reasons doesn't understand that reality. I've never, ever doubted that they love each other. I missed that part of the speech ... would love to find it.

Seriously... For such a well choreographed convention, the ending was kind of a complete let down. The balloons seemed late and anti-climatic. And they weren't as pretty as the balloons at the RNC. If Donald tweets about this tomorrow, I'll have his back. I just Liked your post because it was funny. I was actually in the kitchen, finally making dinner at 10:00, listening from the other room. Didn't see the balloons.

She was amazing! She started out a little weak, but speeches in large crowds has never been her forte, she is much more effective in a small groups and in one on one settings, but as she went on, she became stronger and solid. She was clear in her vision and I've said it all along, she has the temperament for the job. BRAVO Secretary Clinton!!
#ImWithHer
Khizr Khan was riveting and his speech was a devastating indictment of Heir Trump....
and WOW on the Rev. William Barber..for this cynical agnostic, his words even rocked me!
The contrast is clear.....I cannot wait for the debates.

I told DH that it would have been AMAZING if the balloons would have just shrunk and then disappeared, saving the environment. I'm always thinking, "What happens to those balloons afterwards? What happens after they all pop? Where do they go? How long do they remain in landfills and on this earth? What damage do they do?" I think the same thing when I see paper or glitter coming down by the tons. It would have had more of an impact to create a balloon that DOES disappear and/or doesn't negatively affect the environment. Instead, this "trick" didn't really work. Oh well. That was ONE flaw in the entire convention.
I found the convention to be informative, moving, intelligent and it definitely swayed me! I'm sure it did to many, many other people too. It's nice for it not to be a stupid-circus with no information. This was the entire opposite of the RNC. Of course I'm disappointed in the whole mess-up with the DNC votes. Bernie got robbed and no one is being framed for it. That's horrible. And if this Debbie Wasserman (??) person really IS working for Hillary now, that's a shame too. Other than that, I have no issue with voting for Hillary. She was impassioned, intelligent and very informative.

I still can't get over the fact that the DNC got God to narrate the Hillary montage. The RNC had Chachi. It's gotta hurt Trump's ego, at least a little bit. He couldn't even get a real Happy Days character, but Hillary gets God?

He couldn't even get a real Happy Days character, but Hillary gets God? Freeman makes everything sound better.... I really do not care at all who celebrities are voting for, but it really was a stark contrast who was recognizable at each convention. Trump was really scraping the bottom of the barrel.

My husband and I commented on this when Bill spoke, when he watched Pres. Obama speak, and when he watched Hillary herself speak. DH said that you cannot fake that look of love and pride on his face, and I totally agreed. He looked like he was falling in love with her all over again, it was so very sweet.

The media TORTURED this child when Bill Clinton was in office. She was tortured by the republicans. Say what??? I did a little searching to see if I was remembering wrong, but it doesn't seem so. The press honored their request to leave Chelsea alone while Bill was in the White House. They did take photos because those were allowed by the Clintons. www.nytimes.com/2000/12/03/magazine/media-conspiracy-chelsea-under-wraps.html?pagewanted=allEven when she was over 27 and campaigning for her mom, she wouldn't answer questions, not even from a 9-year-old little girl!
